I was hit on the outer right thigh by a come backer in a friendly game once.
I took one off the upper chest, I had seam marks for 6 months.
When I first glanced at this, it didn’t look right.
I lost teeth. Fortunately they were fixing to fall out anyway.
I think I was 8 or 9 or 10, I had a soft line drive hit at me. I got the glove there in time. However, I took it away too quickly and the ball hit me in the balls. It hurt like crap.

Youk/Alex Gonzalez(not that one)/Pedroia/Lowell is pretty close. Now if you are including catchers, I’ll give the Sox the edge.
Being part of the greatest infield ever: Just another thing Varitek is better at than Posada.
Anything that you judge including catchers, it’s an automatic win to the Red Sox.

That’s the thing…at this point, I’m not sure you’re right. I know that he was good early in the year, but…he’s always had poor control, and whether it’s an injury or what I don’t know…but he’s just missing the plate and then throwing meatballs when he gets behind. He’s spent long stretches of time doing that before, too. It’s why he got DFA’d by the dbacks in the first place.
can’t judge someone’s performance if they have lingering injury issues, a healthy year next year will give an answer.

From watching the 2 of them, I can’t see how that is right. Cano gets to balls without leaving the ground that Pedroia has to dive for. I know the whole “seeing with my eyes” thing, but I can’t get lay off this one.
Apparently, there are balls that Pedroia gets to (by diving, or not) that Cano doesn’t get to at all :-/
I still don’t think he’s a better defender, even if he gets to more balls. Who makes more outs on balls reached? (I don’t know how to look that up)
I’m pretty sure that the rate of balls fielded cleanly:outs is pretty similar across most infielders.
