The Rookie GCL Yanks season is over after they lost to the GCL Marlins in Round One of the playoffs. The GCL Nats won the league championship.

Stoneburner’s name is so awesome.
Stoneburner is anglicized Steinbrenner.
Sincerely,
Old News
Damn you for making me look up the definition of a word.
Pffft … “is” …
When he got to “of”, I literally laughed out loud in the middle of the park.
Does the fact that I didn’t have to look that up make me a huge dork?
http://dune.wikia.com/wiki/Stone_burner
Props.
Graham Stoneburner deserves to be the Yankees next great closer simply because of his name.
Also, great night for Watkins and Higashioka as well. Maybe Watkins’ performance tonight gives him a chance to start next season.
Correction Staten Island did not sweep, won 2 of 3 from Lowell.
My bad, thanks. Fixed now.
Watkins had a solid season as a 40th rounder.
Hopefully Medchill’s surgery goes well after the numbers he was able to put up.
does anyone have info on his surgery, like what he is having done and why?
Tampa Yanks 4-0. Take it home, boys.
Kei Igawa even sucks in AAA now.
Looks like he should start in AA next year. He will dominate at each level, just in the inverse progression.
ietc
Kennedy is back with a vengeance.
Is it wrong of me to want him to start on Tuesday against the Angels?
No.
It would be wrong of you to get upset when it doesn’t happen, though.
In a related story, it is not wrong of me to want to have a threeway with Lauren London and Jennifer Freeman (who are both about to be MILFs, which is amazing.)
Nor is it wrong for JMK to want to have a threeway with two tire salesmen.
“Nor is it wrong for JMK to want to have a threeway with two tire salesmen.”
I don’t even want to know what goes on in game threads these days.
I cut off all my communication with alex gonzalez. I’m proud of myself.

It’s probably for the best.

Oh, but you do, Mondesi. You so do.

Wow… What an overshare. And he had a cracked rib as a reminder? Yikes.
“the season rest of the shoulder’s of Ivan Nova now”
Shoulders? Since when is he a switch-pitcher?
Great game by Higgy and Zoilo tonight
Amazing how strong IPK has come back.
I was at the Scranton game again tonight, and once again saw us lose with Igawa pitching horrendously (minus a 5-pitch 7th). Sanit also sucked, but man, IPK looked more dominant than any pitcher I’ve ever seen.
If only our offense had shown up. We were getting to Mitch Talbot before they pulled him when we put two runners on, and then despite DePaula and Abreu both having pitched last night and not as sharply this time, we couldn’t get to them, nor to Bateman, who was great. Durham’s infield made several great defensive plays that killed rallies, though we benefited from a key error by their 3B early on; our defense was a little porous.
Kennedy dominates minor leaguers. I’ve seen that movie
What’s your point?
That IPK will continue to dominate the minors and suck at the ML level.
that so far he hasn’t proved he’s more than a AAAA pitcher
He’s still young.
nobody said he isn’t
Put Kennedy in the bullpen next year like Hughes and maybe he can learn to challenge hitters like Hughes did.
Can the Yankees bring him up after the AAA playoff ends or does he have to stay there to pitch in the AFL?
They could, but I don’t think they will. I think Kennedy could be in the role Hughes was supposed to fill this year (6th starter, ready to fill in if there’s an injury) or he could do the Aceves thing, covering multiple innings to build back up his arm strength and stamina.
I’d love to see Kennedy get a few innings at the MLB level. Can’t be much worse than we’re getting out of Edwar or Melancon right now, could it?
And I still like IPK’s chances to contribute bigtime to the MLB team, even if it’s more in an Aceves role next year than starter…
Speaking of Melancon, he has been a big letdown at the MLB level this year. To give him credit, just when he was starting to pitch well during his last stint up, they sent him back down (for Gaudin I think). Now he’s back with the same control issues he had to overcome last time.
Hopefully he comes in stronger next year and with this year’s lessons integrated into his pitching.
He also hasn’t proved that he is a AAAA pitcher. He’s unproven.
Percent of big league pitchers who have proven that they are more than AAAA pitchers: about 10%
Kennedy dominates minor leaguers. I’ve seen that movie
Hurry up and return it, you’ve got the only copy and I’m running out of other options on my Netflix queue.
Have you seen the remake of “The Crying Game” staring JMK and the Michelin Man?
http://www.dinoballs.com/index.....helin-man/
Over/Under on how long we’ll be making jokes about JMK and tire salesmen: 2.5 years.
I’ll take the over.
Oddly enough, so did JMK.

“…by the way, that’s not an air valve you’re blowing.”
2 for 2. The Yankees rule.
Pat Venditte: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K – L/ROOGY?
My vote goes for AOOGY: Ambidextrous One Out Guy.
Plus, saying AOOGY vaguely makes me hungry for Cookie Crisp.

CALL UP KENNEDY!!! CALL UP KENNEDY!!! CALL UP KENNEDY!!!! CALL UP KENNEDY!!!
Dude deserves a callup, he dominated when he pitched, and came back from a very serious injury early, reward him, please. They have things sown up, there is no roster implication, and you could really boost the kid’s confidence. BRING HIM UP!!!!!
David Adams, Mr Sept.
