Isn't Valdez the guy that maybe six or seven years ago Baseball America touted as one of the best young arms in the system. Said to throw 97. Many years since then but I'd love to hear an update on this kid.

Does anyone know what sort of gun readings Black and Brooks have put up? Both have pitched extremely well but I'm hoping its' not just the co;;ege pitcher in NY-Penn League Syndrome. Need I mention Jason Arnold?

What's the story on Valdez? Seems likes he has pitched well in his last few appearances. He has had a nice K-rate between AA and AAA. Is he a potential arm in the Yankees' pen next year?

Romulo Sanchez might be a big bullpen arm for us next year. 6-6 workhorse out of the pen. Does anyone know what he throws and how hard?

damn, romulo sanchez has become a pretty good starter. what's with all the yanks' minor league relievers being really good spot starters? I'm not gonna go back and check all the dotf's, but i don't remember one bad spot start this year.

Wow, never seen a best of 3 tied at 2 before :)

Is it best of 5 or is it tied at 1 ?

I respect Medchill for playing through pain, but I would really like to see him rest now. He really isn't 'helping' the team in anyway since he isn't hitting due to the injury, and it isn't wise to possibly screw with his career.

I was at the Scranton-Durham game right behind home plate tonight. Romulo looked filthy, but unfortunately, Hellickson was even filthier (he also dominated us in the game I saw a month ago). Valdez looked great; if only he'd come in in the 6th instead of Kroenke, who just didn't seem to have it tonight.

Kei Igawa was in street clothes in the stands and walked right by me on his way to the concourse; he may have been prepping to relieve IPK tomorrow night, a game I'll also be at.

Our offense just seemed sluggish. We couldn't get on base enough, and the few times we got in scoring position, we faltered. Hopefully tomorrow night is different because I've seen Scranton play 3 times, and we've lost each game, twice with Igawa starting. Hopefully I'm not a curse, and hopefully Kei isn't either if he pitches tomorrow.
