Whats the story on Lash Lerew or whoever is pitching tonight. I saw an earlier post this morning on this site the Royals passed on some really good players to take Hochevar. That sucks for them. I know Alex Gordon might end up being very good. Longoria with Billy Butler and David Dejesus would be the start of something.

last time i checked games in september count the same as games in may or june. they all count equally toward a team’s overall record thus every game has meaning.

Yes, but what all those games all count for is:
A) determining who gets to go to the playoffs and who doesn't
B) determining who gets to win the division and who doesn't
C) determining who gets home field advantage and who doesn't
D) determining who has had a season most worthy of winning individual awards and who did not

All four of those things have been decided. Thus, while every game "counts the same" in abstract theory, no, not every game counts the same in actuality. All of the meaning has been stripped out of these games because their outcomes will not change the outcomes of any of the four reasons that the games matter.

while the yankees and other teams are in special positions, every game counts the same toward a team's overall record (like i said below) so every game means something.

not really sure what you're both arguing about - maybe word it differently?

but if you're arguing whether or not this game is meaningless, in theory, it's not. last time i checked games in september count the same as games in may or june. they all count equally toward a team's overall record thus every game has meaning.

"Meaningful?" No. Meaningless? Just about.

He can applaud Robbie, Ramiro, Gaudin, etc... but other than one, maybe two spots(Gaudin on the postseason roster?) the game had no bearing on our year.

My friend and I are in an argument. He says the game yesterday was meaningful and you can look at performances and applaud guys just as you would the regular season when games count. I disagree.

What do you all think?

I'd say there's a better shot that Sano is a full time starter for the Yanks.
