ALCS chat reminder

By Mike Axisa

With another game in the books, let’s get together to talk about how the team couldn’t hit with men in scoring position last night, Joe Girardi’s love of replacing pitchers with inferior pitchers mid-inning, and A-Rod’s awesomeness. Show starts at 1pm. See you then.

Bryan says:

I acutally just emailed Ben about that, CTB Blog on MSNBC has this as well.

Tom Zig says:

“fox and all of MLB are so Yankee biased”

haha surrrrre

Double-J says:

Yeah, apparently they missed the other night when Fox anointed Aybar as the greatest shortstop in the league, or of all-time, I forget which. :P

Raf says:

I would say this is pretty conclusive evidence of why Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera is able to throw only one pitch that has unpredictable, yet precise movement.

wow…

Double-J says:

I enjoyed that. How can something be both “unpredictable” and “precise”? :P

Bryan says:

Its precisely unpredictable.

That’s so retarded. If anyone on that site had half a clue about anything, they’d know a “spitball” moves down, not sideways. The pitch should completely drop off the table, like a splitter but much nastier.

Eh nevermind, I guess you could get a spitball to move sideway depending on how the pitcher holds it.

pete says:

no, a spitball just makes movement sharper by giving the pitcher a better grip, like a poor man’s pine tar. It’s a dumb rule though – pitchers are allowed to wipe sweat off their foreheads, and to spit on their hands/the ball if they are off the mound, which really doesn’t make a difference. Of course all the video showed was him spitting, which every single baseball player ever has done at least 2-3 times per inning, considering they play on a field of dusty dirt.

Cano, Swisher and Melky are 13-72 combined this postseason. That is a .181 BA. If you combine Tex in there, they are 16-97. A paltry .164 BA. I don’t want to count Tex in there though, because what he hasn’t done at the plate he has more than made up for with the glove. That is not an excuse, but at least he is producing on defense. Jeter, Arod and Posada can’t do it all! I’m also sure that 4 of Cano’s 5 hits were with no one on base….

Sorry to hijack the post but this is my go to site for any and all related Yankee news, but I was wondering if anyone knows if they will open the stadium to public like last night for the remainder of the on the road games. And I’d also like to know how the experience was for anyone who was there.
