Chat this afternoon, but only after the tying run reaches base

By Mike Axisa

You know, I would have rather seen the Yanks lose 4-0 instead of how they did last night. That’s just frustrating. Even more frustrating is the off day, I’d rather see them be right back out there. Of course, this one’s way more justified than Wednesday’s. Anyway, chat starts at 2pm ET, see you then.

0-2 in this series after off days. =) Hopefully that trend does not continue

The Lodge says:

1 and 2 after off-days. (Game 1 occurred after an off-day).

No way! Sure, last night was frustrating, but come on! It was certainly exciting! And seeing Tex & Cano come up huge was great.

So Hughes didn’t execute his pitches. It happens. It’s even happened to Mo.

No sir. Although we lost, I’m very happy that we showed some fight, and made Scoisca’s moves look stupid.

We’ll get ‘em tomorrow.

I couldn’t disagree more. I like the fact that we battled back and made it a game.

We didn’t give up, our offense came alive, Tex/HazMat/Cano had some excellent hacks and came up large with RISP, and we had a full-count with the bases loaded against the ever-shaky Brian Fuentes in the 9th. We had the lead and missed tying the game by mere inches. It took the last possible pitch to kill us, and we’re still gonna win this series.

I would have hated it much more if we just rolled over and died after AJ imploded in the first. That’s not the hallmark of a good team. Good teams battle back. We battled back.

That’s a frustrating loss, but it’s still a confidence inspiring loss.

This is what I basically wanted to say below.

This is exactly how I feel.

A coworker this morning said he was surprised to see me in and not crying over a beer and I realized–as good as I can feel after a loss, I feel that way. The way the team battled back to take the lead with 2 outs in the 7th and the fact that they continued pressing and *taking pitches* in the ninth again with 2 outs is inspiring.

Everyone is going to rag on Swisher but, c’mon, he worked his way back from an 0-2 count to a full count and took more miracle foul hacks than I ever expected.

The offense is picking it up, the pitching has had only a few stumbles. It’s all good.

No, I’d actually lose on a night when our stud reliever struggled. It means that even though we were down 4-0 late in the game with one our starter struggling, we came back once again and burst for 6 runs. If anything, that loss game me even more confidence in the team. It took a bad outing from Hughes to lose so we are good to go. Hughes is usually good and I still trust him for next time.

You communicated my sentiments exactly!

Coming back and losing=more frustration.

2 days off=more agita.

However…if you asked me before this series how I would have felt about coming home up 3-2…I would have jumped on it!

My prediction was Yanks in 6…I’m holding to it. (Plus now I get to be there a nd see it!)
