Laird continues assault on AzFL pitching
ByThe Arizona Fall League is on Twitter.
AzFL Surprise (15-12 win over Phoenix) you gotta love scores like that
Brandon Laird: 3 for 5, 3 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 1 K – hitting .412-.412-.676, and he’s only 18th in the league in OPS
Colin Curtis: 3 for 4, 2 R, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB – at .389-.476-.695, he’s 11th in the league in OPS
Grant Duff: 1 IP, zeroes, 0-3 GB/FB - just 6 of 11 pitches were strikes (54.5%)

Brandon Laird = Eric Duncan 2.0
Without the crushing weight of being a hometown #1 pick and being rushed through the low minors.
Unfortunately Laird-o hasn’t drawn a walk yet. Guess it doesn’t matter when you’re hitting the shit out of everything.
Well, Curtis is hitting everything better but he has a good IsoD still
A 1.088 OPS is 18th in the league? Word.
I guess you weren’t kidding when you said it was a hitters league.
Hey, Duff pitched a scoreless inning in a 15-12 game? That alone is pretty impressive.
Just looked at the boxscore…Grant Desme of the Phoenix Dirt Dogs has an OPS of 1.526. And HE’S not even first in the league!
Yikes-a-hooey.
He is 2nd though.
The leader in OPS currently is Russ Mitchell.
Hitting .440/.517/1.120/1.637.
I don’t think there’s a word to describe that. The AzFL is a hitter’s league but that is still insane.
Laird’s still a fringe prospect, no?
I think he’s bit better than that.

Hope the prospect profile helps.
Whoa, so the AzFL is basically the exact opposite of the EL?
Jesus Montero’s OPS at AzFL: 5.027
Fuck me sideways with a spork O_O
He’s kidding. It’s impossible to have an OPS over 5.000.
Right.
Um.
Don’t fuck me sideways with a spork?
You know what the extra 27 points were for, though.
Not for Jesus.
Jesus can perform miracles.
Jesus hits homeruns in Arizona from Venezuela.
