Shout Outs: Feinsand, IIATMS, Yankeeist
ByInstead of a link dump, today we’re going to run down some recent bloggy developments.
First, if you’re not already checking him out, make sure to make your way to Mark Feinsand’s blog, Blogging the Bombers. I’ve always been a fan of Mark. He either puts a lot of thought into his posts and articles, or else he’s so smart that he doesn’t need the extra thought. Either way he’s a good guy and a good read. Plus, the man knows what he’s doing. Since PeteAbe announced his departure, Mark has stepped up the blogging effort. It’s just one more outlet for Yanks fans to keep up with the team.
(Another bit in praise of Mark: He’s had the blog for a while, but he’s never tried to make it like Pete’s blog…until Pete was no longer in the game. I think it’s a fine strategic move. There’s no reason to put all your effort into something if you don’t stand to gain significantly. Mark kept up his blog presence, and when the opportunity arose he changed strategy. I respect that.)
Next up is It’s About the Money, Stupid. Earlier in the season, I said that Jason was going places: “Just wait until he has two, three years of this under his belt. He and Craig from Shysterball should have a real future with this gig.” Jason gets his first audition this month, as IIATMS is moving to the SweetSpot Blog Network. SweetSpot is Rob Neyer’s blog, and he’s taking a number of playoff team bloggers into the network. Should be good times.
I can’t point you to the blog yet, because it’s not live until Monday. Once that happens, we’ll get you there some way or another. Again, congratulations to Jason. He does a fine job over there, and has made constant strides to improve the site.
Finally, we have the Yankeeist. Remember Save Phil Hughes? If you’re a long-time reader of RAB you probably do. We linked to him frequently — Phil Hughes is, after all, a favorite of the blog. Larry retired that project a while ago, but he’s back in the game with Yankeeist. So stop by, say hello, and enjoy what he’s got there. It’s a nice complement to RAB.

Yeah i too noticed that about mark’s blog. He all of a sudden started doing game threads and more blogging. That’s knowing your audience very well FTW.
Hey guys – Just want to say that Larry has some great ideas going and Yankeeist has lots of potential…this is just tip of the iceberg…
Keep it up Lar!
Air Traffic Controller #2: This blog’s getting thicker…
Johnny: (grabs Leon’s belly) And Leon’s getting LAAAAAAAAAAAARGER!
Homer: (singing) I can’t get enough Super Golden Crisp!
Marge: Homer, did you put the blog lights in?
Homer: (singing) I guess I forgot to put the blog lights in!
What do these posts even mean? I know it is supposed to be a joke and you are going to tell me to lighten up, but you post like this a lot and the off topic shtick is getting old, to me anyway. It is tiring to see stuff like this in every single thread. Maybe I’m the only one. And I’ll probably be the one to get chastised for an off topic post.
I think you dropped this.

Thanks for proving my point. For some, it is OK. For others it is not.
He’s clearly joking.
I get on other people for off-topic comments, tommie. You know you’re good money, but these quotes are kind of unnecessary.

I am happy check out Mark’s blog. I went to Pete’s blog for the most current info and for audio from the clubhouse, but I was not a fan of Pete’s arrogance and the of the fact that he was clearly biased for and against certain players. To be frank, I am not really sorry to see him go. I was very glad to find this site so I didn’t have to go to LoHud as often.
If an alternative blog like Mark’s picks up the slack or if the replacements at LoHud can provide the same type of insights and timely info that Pete did, without the attitude, I will be grateful to have so many great places to get Yankee information.
I can’t predict the future, but I think you’ll be pleased with Chad Jennings. His work with Scranton-Wilkes Barre was great, and I’m looking forward to reading his take on the bigs. Hopefully he can develop a good rapport with Joe G. and the guys like he had with the SWB team.
Thanks Joe P!!!!
Great post, love adding new sites to the daily blog routine; RAB and LoHud were always my first (and sometimes only) stops. I’ve been reading Feinsand in the Daily News frequently but now I know to check him out in the blogosphere. I was aware of Save Phil Hughes and noticed they were on hiatus. Looking forward to seeing what Larry has to share on Yankeeist this time around. I’ll keep an eye out for the Sweet Spot URL as well.
Say it with me now…YANKS IN ’09!!!!!
Thanks for the mention guys; it’s much appreciated.
As I mentioned to Ben and Joe, I know it’s a crowded Yankee blogosphere out there, and that the elite Yankee blogs have done a fantastic job of meeting the online needs of the fanbase.
I’m not going to pretend like my commentary is going to add anything groundbreaking to existing Yankee coverage, but as a fiercely passionate and dedicated fan with a sense of humor about the team, my goal is that my content is compelling enough reading for Yankee fans to make it part of their daily Yankee blog rundown and at least get my name and opinion into the conversation.
I am so sorry for being off topic I really am but since you guys re in this thread I have to ask about Crousset. A: Is he real? b: if so why is he in the DSL still? and why not on any prospect lists? Please foregive me for being off topic I know that thread was earlier but I did not have time to ask this question his am.
You could search the site for “Crousset” and find one of the many threads in which that question has already been answered.
Or wait until 2 p.m. and ask Mike in the chat.
Or use the givoogler.
I see-I tried google not much definitive information. I see he is real, but I wonder why we didn’t hear more about him if he is this good.
You could search RAB with the “Search RAB” box in the top right corner of the page and flip through the threads there, like I suggested.
I did that and I did see his milb stats-o I have a little more information-21 y/o seems old for that league alot ofthe pitchers were 18-20-but thank you for the tip.
Feinsand runs a good blog, but can we quibble with his top post as of right now (2:50 PM)?
So why will this year be different? For starters, this is the best lineup he’s ever been a part of, and for the first time in his career, he’s not the best hitter on his team. That would be Mark Teixeira.
Yeah…no. A-Rod is still the best hitter on the team. I love Tex, but his average year is almost a down year for A-Rod.
