  1. ansky says:

Have to stop swinging at these crappy pitches.

  2. Jerek Deter says:

    LET’S GO YANKS!

  3. Souter Fell says:

c’mon CC, no tight roping this time, 1-2-3 economy

  4. V says:

We’ll be watching Mets’ games counting his broken bats?

  5. Dela G says:

i know lee is good, but damn they need to slow his ass down more

  6. Jobamania says:

lets hope we don’t have Damon next year.

  7. The Artist says:

    Were doomed.

    Screwed.

    We suck.

Lets just give up and hand Philly the trophy right now.

  8. I can’t recall ever seeing Damon look worse than he has lately.

  9. JobaWockeeZ says:

Lee’s at 40 pitches. I really want him out ASAP.

  10. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

Invictus looks like an interesting film….

  11. Jay says:

I thought Invictus looked familiar. I saw that movie. It was called ‘Victory.’

  12. Drew says:

Cap’n Ron up in this bitch.

  13. Dela G says:

cmon cc, you need to get your control back

  14. Jobamania says:

CC is on now, no longer tipping his slider.

  15. Souter Fell says:

can cc throw a first pitch strike tonight?

  16. Do they have to sneak a Joe Torre reference into every Yankee game?

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

They should sneak in real Joe. The tickettakers have strict instructions to bar him from entering

  17. Arman Tamzarian says:

    He’s on, and it’s on!

  18. Jay says:

Joe Buck: And what about Cliff Lee, Joe? Huh? Huh? Cliff Lee!!!

  19. Salty Buggah says:

OK, Jorge, Robbie, and Jeter hit it well. We’re getting there.

    0 hits, 1 single, 1 double….what will it be in the 4th?

    (Hoping for a A-Rod HR)

  20. e mills says:

that strike one fastball had some “hair” on it

  21. Cy Farnsworth says:

    ok mccarver, i’ll bite.

    wtf are you talking about????

  22. Dela G says:

ibanez one of the great postseason signings in recent memory?????

    what???

Manny, A-rod, abreu, tex say hi

  23. Wow that pitch was nasty.

  24. Jobamania says:

CC is clowning on bitches now

  25. JMK aka The Overshare says:

I’M BREAKING THE CAPS LAW, BUT FUCKIN’ RIGHT!

    /all set now

  26. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

    CC becoming sharper….

  27. Mike Axisa says:

CC’s done this before. Iffy first three innings, then someone flips the switch to straight pwnage.

  28. Stadium Garlic Fries says:

how much this must be pissing of Roy Halladay? he could have been here today if not for his GM getting too cute.

  29. Salty Buggah says:

    CC ANGRY!

  30. The Artist says:

68 pitches for CC. Hopefully, he goes 7.

Only 40 for Lee, which is really a problem.

  31. Jobamania says:

CC is scared of ben francisco

  32. Dela G says:

how was the first pitch not a strike?

    did i miss something?

  33. Chris says:

What is it with baseball teams hanging dead people’s laundry in their dugouts?

  34. Okay. It starts now. Get the fucking bayonets ready.

  35. Dela G says:

    alright let’s go yanks

  36. Jake H says:

Lee got away with some bs. I see them getting to him now.

  37. Dela G says:

i am calling a tex single

  38. Dela G says:

damn, ryan howard has had that big nose since he was a kid!

    wow

  39. JJhammer31 says:

I vote for the fox pitch trax plus as the dumbest gimmick in the history of tv. Batter has .45 of a second on a curve but only .41 on a fastball. Wow, that’s fascinating. At the same time, these announcers would never .ops or k/bb. You know, the actually useful information.

If they want a good gimmick, they should show us which balls would be homeruns in other parks. that would be interesting.

  40. charlespoet says:

Ok, Yanks need to score this inning and make Lee throw some pitches. Lidge and Madson are just waiting to blow a game.

  41. Stadium Garlic Fries says:

Can Fox create any worse promo than beyond childhood thing?

  42. TJ says:

    Text from my dad:

    We score this inning

  43. Drew says:

Oh man Wayne just got on Jay’s Death of Autotune track and killed it. New ceilings mixtape is legit as hell.

  44. Jay says:

Tex has to tee off on that 2-0 pitch!

    • Esteban says:

I don’t think so, it was a change or cutter and that’s a tough pitch to hit on a 2-0 count unless you’re looking for it

  45. Esteban says:

Teixeira really needs to start hitting

  46. Ivan says:

So far, a rough night for Tex.

  47. Salty Buggah says:

Damn Tex, go get your swing back. And take Swish-Hawk with you.

  48. charlespoet says:

Fuck, another bad AB….So continued bad AB’s – Tex, Matsui, Damon, Swisher….

  49. Stadium Garlic Fries says:

Everytime Lee strikesout something, Buck jumps out of his chair..

  50. Reggie C. says:

That’s right Alex. Mess up this guy’s flow.

  51. Cy Farnsworth says:

haha philly’s pitching coach’s answer to mccarver’s question about how on earth lee threw the spiked curve was fantastic

“i dunno, lots of guys throw that pitch”

  52. Stop trying to pull the changeup.

  53. charlespoet says:

    Long night ahead.

  54. Dela G says:

    holy shit

cliff lee is fucking on fire

  55. V says:

    Goddamnit Lee is good.

  56. Salty Buggah says:

Oh noes, teh A-Rod is unclutch!

At least he worked the count though, so that’s positive.

  57. cjc says:

its like you throw anything but a fastball to our guys 3-2 and they are meat fuck Lee is on

  58. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

Fuck. At least Arod made him work. I’m thinking we need to swing a little less. See if he digs himself a hole.

  59. charlespoet says:

    4 KO’s from Tex and ARod….

  60. Alex S says:

    lee is fucking money tonight

  61. Tampa Yankee says:

Man, everytime Lee strikes out someone Buck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXfHLUlZf4

  62. Salty Buggah says:

Next time, no swinging for the fences Alex. Keep it simple and keep your patience, you’ll get some hits.

  63. Howard looks odd with a beard.

  64. Dela G says:

uh oh, i smell a curveball coming to jorge

  65. Reggie C. says:

Is Cliff Lee >>>>>>>> Jon Lester …

    FUCK..

  66. Souter Fell says:

    ugh

  67. JobaWockeeZ says:

    Lee is dealing…

  68. The one thing I will not miss about ’09: Jorge looking absolutely lost on curveballs.

  69. TJ says:

    Stop swinging at that curveball

  70. Cy Farnsworth says:

i dunno why you guys all seem so surprised that cliff lee is dirty. he’s been one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball over the past few years.

  71. JMK aka The Overshare says:

Jesus, I thought bringing out the good Scotch would make me feel good. I feel ill watching our horrific ABs against Lee. I had no idea he was this good!

  72. Teix is the Man says:

Joe Buck has a Cliff Lee boner

  73. Alex S says:

wowowowow k’s the side……like i said lee is money tonight. we’ll be lucky to push a run across on him tonight. we need to get to the philly bullpen

  74. V says:

    Fuck I don’t like this.

  75. charlespoet says:

Wow, Lee is making the Yankees look like they did in April, very foolish at the plate… That is a lot of stress to put on CC because he has already made 1 mistake that is holding up just fine.

At this rate, Lee will be in there for at least 8 innings…And now the weaker part of our line up is due.

  76. NYQ says:

This is kinda of f**cking embarrassing.

  77. Jake H says:

They are swinging at stuff that is out of the zone.

  78. Pasqua says:

So now Lee is mixing inner / outer with authority. Shit. I’d love a time machine to have those first two innings back. His location was a mess.

  79. aa says:

damn lee is good. i hope the yanks can just knock him out of the game and beat up that phillie bullpen.

  80. southernyankeefan says:

    Damn Lee is filthy tonight.

  81. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

Holy fucking shit. I’m sorry but take pitches. Make him throw that sick breaking ball for a strike. i know it looks like a strike- its not

    • Moshe Mandel says:

All 3 batters in that inning saw at least 5 pitches. He threw 16 in the inning. If you don’t get on base, you aren’t going to extend innings much further than that.

      • Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

Its not so much an issue of making him work, as working walks. Arod and Posada got themselves on pitches that werent strikes. Take those pitches, and either make him come in with the fastball or take a walk.

  82. Ivan says:

    Ok, Lee’s on his game.

  83. Jay says:

Can Buck’s man-crush on Cliff Lee be any more obvious? Jeebus.

  84. Stadium Garlic Fries says:

wow..this is amazing..people here are ready to jump bandwagon after 4innings in WS. Lee is good tonight but don’t forget Yankees have been great entire season..

  85. V says:

If the Yankees can’t get a run on Lee, he’s on a CG pace.

  86. Dela G says:

the yanks need to lay off everything not a fastball, as he cannot throw his breaking stuff for a strike it seems

  87. JMK aka The Overshare says:

Why are commercials allowed to be 20 decibels louder than the program?

  88. Alex S says:

at the rate lee’s going he can pick up a CG. LETS GO YANKS!

  89. nathan says:

the way Lee is dealing and CC scuffling, we are lucky tobe only down 1-0

    letts hold it here

  90. Arman Tamzarian says:

It’s all good, Lee can have the 5th, and 6th, but his shit get’s fucked up in the 7th-9th.

  91. Dela G says:

    that was filthy by cc

  92. Tampa Yankee says:

    CC is pissed and dealing!

  93. JMK aka The Overshare says:

Don’t look now but Sabathia is starting to look like Lee.

    • Obnoticus says:

Exactly. He’s settling down after some early jitters. Now for the lineup to break out the bats

  94. Derby says:

It seems like our shotty hitting has come with us to the WS, we need to atleast tie this up soon!

  95. donttradecano says:

    Joe Buck reads RAB

  96. The Artist says:

For a little perspective, the Phillies need this game way more than we do. They have Pedro facing Burnett tomorrow and Pettitte facing Hamels (who’s been awful) in Philly on Saturday.

Even if we lose tonight, it’s not the end of the world. If we did find a way to win, it could be a quick series.

    • Hall and Nokes says:

I agree with that, and if you want to take the long view, the odds of Lee throwing 120+ pitches tonight and being effective for game 4 on three days rest (which it looks like he’ll have to do) are not all that great.

    • JMK aka The Overshare says:

Good point. We still have more pitching depth all the way through.

  97. Salty Buggah says:

Damn rain. We seem to score less in the rain IIRC. Most of the time.

  98. Stadium Garlic Fries says:

GAME IS NOT OVER YET!!! I just had to type it all uppercase..

  99. If it keeps raining like this, how long before they pull ‘em off the field?

  100. Reggie C. says:

    Ken Rosenthal needs to disappear.

  101. JMK aka The Overshare says:

Who gave Zombie Christopher Walken Dustin Rosenthol a microphone?

  102. Alex S says:

CC has settled down nicely, lets get to Lee now

  103. e mills says:

score some runs please, i hate reading through the negative comments

  104. Hova says:

Since CC has to go on 3 day’s rest in game 4, how many pitches do you guys think we have him for tonight?

  105. Alex S says:

    Arod with the popup!

  106. Pasqua says:

There is just no way a single run holds up against this team. I’d be absolutely shocked. Let’s do this.

  107. Mike Axisa says:

CC’s rollin’ now. Just need to push a run across and get into that pen.

  108. marc resnick says:

In honor of Mike… “The yankees will bring the timing run to the plate this inning…”

  109. Jay says:

Rosenthal said Lee and CC are close. Now Buck hates Sabathia even more.

  110. marc resnick says:

    edit… tying… stupid auto correct

  111. Reggie C. says:

    Kim Basinger …

Does she really look that good?

  112. Ivan says:

CC is really feeling it now.

  113. Arman Tamzarian says:

They’re rolling, they’ve gotten to lots of good pitchers this postseason, Lee is no different, he’ll slow down and they will pounce

  114. Ivan says:

    Guys, Patience is a Virtue.

  115. Salty Buggah says:

    Ugh Matsui.

  116. e mills says:

they’ll score before than, but don’t forget that the 7th inning is their inning

  117. gxpanos says:

Bottom of the order rally coming up this inning. I FEEEEEEL it.

Also, unsarcastically, been lovin’ the strike zone tonight on both sides. Finally a well-umped game it seems.

  118. MikeH says:

Hmmm… my other option is Joe Morgan on the radio. Jon Miller, I like.

  119. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

You know Matsuis going bad when he swings at the pitch when its already in the glove

  120. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

Ewwww apparently lee is dripping with confidence

  121. JobaJr says:

    Leadoff man on!

  122. Mike Axisa says:

Here we go. Now they’re in business.

  123. southernyankeefan says:

    There ya go Hideki

  124. JMK aka The Overshare says:

This is a tight zone. Both pitchers have been squeezed at different points this game. Still, good hit for Matsui.

  125. Doug says:

Tying run at the plate! Tying run at the plate!

  126. YankeeScribe says:

    Judo chop mowfucka

  127. helix says:

    yeah leadoff batter!

  128. Jay says:

    “Lee’s pacing just drips confidence.”

These two are so frigging idiotic it makes me want to puke. Lee ALWAYS works fast.

  129. Salty Buggah says:

    No DP Cano

    Ugh Cano…

  130. Stadium Garlic Fries says:

OMFG..ground ball from Matsui which was not directly at 1b,2b?

  131. Arman Tamzarian says:

    He’s getting sloppy

  132. Cy Farnsworth says:

talk about a veteran at bat from matsui

  133. acb says:

reallly buck both teams won 7 games to get here ?

  134. JMK aka The Overshare says:

No way did he go around!

  135. Brazilian Yankee says:

    Umps are just awesome.

  136. JobaWockeeZ says:

    WTF stupid ass ump.

  137. Salty Buggah says:

You fuckin me? He didn’t go!!!!

Victorino went more than that you idiot!

  138. Mike Axisa says:

Wow, awful. He didn’t come close to going around.

  139. Stadium Garlic Fries says:

    how was that a strike?

  140. e mills says:

so much for the good umped game

  141. Alex S says:

WTF!!!!! really? cano did not go around! the umps this posteason are atrocious

  142. Esteban says:

    No way. Wow, awful

  143. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

WTF!!!! he didnt even come close

  144. Cy Farnsworth says:

what the hell? not even close to a swing attempt by cano. not even close.

  145. JobaWockeeZ says:

    Umpiring is SOOOOOOOO great.

  146. Jake H says:

That 3rd base ump is a moron.

  147. E-ROC says:

That third base umpire is on crack.

  148. Brazilian Yankee says:

Great baserunning as usual by the Yankees. It should definately be a DP.

  149. Willy says:

That is an unbelievably fantastic play by Rollins.

  150. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

    Rollins is a lying bitch

  151. Esteban says:

That’s gotta be a double play

  152. Mike Axisa says:

Bad call. Should be a DP.

  153. JobaJr says:

    More bad umpiring…

  154. Dela G says:

what the hell is going on

the umps didn’t even let matsui go back

  155. Alex S says:

these umps are all blind cocksuckers. i’m sorry

  156. gxpanos says:

What’s the infield fly rule? It doesnt apply here at all?

  157. danny says:

    ugh, bad baseball

  158. JMK aka The Overshare says:

How do we not have IR? Double play, inning over. Fair is fair.

  159. Arman Tamzarian says:

Does this really require a conference?

  160. TJ says:

    WTF these umps suck ass

  161. Alex S says:

how many middle aged white guys does it take to get a call right?

  162. JobaWockeeZ says:

Oh great conspiracy theories from Fox on their beloved Cliff Lee.

  163. southernyankeefan says:

    Damn that sucked

  164. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

Why dont our runners understand how to play the game? posada and cano at third, posada getting deked, now this

  165. Mike Axisa says:

No complaints, absolutely the right call.

  166. E-ROC says:

Wouldn’t that little flare or pop up warrant an infield fly rule?

  167. bob c says:

they never made it clear to matsui that it was caught he could have gotten back, bull shit

  168. Eirias says:

    Boo! Correct Umpiring!

  169. nathan says:

whats white got ot do with it,.. come on

  170. Salty Buggah says:

That’s weak. You gotta call it a popup so we know to get back!

  171. Cy Farnsworth says:

wow, the umps getting together to get a call right? what a novelty!

did rollins just make an incredibly smart play, or did he mess up trying to play the short hop?

  172. Well, that sucks. But, it’s the right call.

  173. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

no infield fly? isnt that what thats for?

  174. AJ says:

    Wow. Rollins is scummy.

    • whozat says:

how so? He didn’t try the “fake drop”

he caught the ball, and then told his guy to tag the chump wandering around off the bag for no damn reason.

  175. Esteban says:

Ryan Howard was on the base anyway

  176. PsiFighter37 says:

More crappy baserunning by the Yankees. Good job, guys…

  177. Drew says:

WTF was Hideki doing just watching on the infield grass?

  178. Yanks21 says:

    FU:CK!!!!!

  179. Dela G says:

the umps didnt even call a pop up

    that’s unfair to matsui

  180. JobaWockeeZ says:

    Lee’s starting to lose it.

  181. Pasqua says:

So, fine, it’s the right call. But more to the point: WHY DO YOU NEED A FUCKING CONFERENCE TO DECIDE IT?!

  182. Souter Fell says:

nice pop out yet again swish

  183. Swisher…take that.

  184. Salty Buggah says:

Damnit Swish! That was a pitch to fuckin crush! Stop poppin it up man.

  185. Alex S says:

can we get a fucking run?

  186. Willy says:

There was nothing “inadvertent” about that. Rollins has been saving that for years probably. Pulled it out in the World Series. The only bad thing about that call is that it looks like the 2nd base ump made a safe sign. If that’s the case, then Matsui would think it’s a ground ball and he must advance. I thought I saw that on the reply, but I’m not quite sure.

McCarve has no freakin’ clue that Rollins did this on purpose. He didn’t intend to drop the ball. He intended to make it look like he dropped the ball and double the runner off.

  187. C says:

Lucky sons of bitches. We’ll get ‘em next inning.

  188. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

    Jesus christ swish

  189. acb says:

    swisher looks awful
