I don’t know why anyone is surprised. Posada’s never been a good fundamental baseball player. His base running is awful, he’s lousy at blocking balls behind the dish, doesn’t block home plate when runners try to score, and has always a bunch of bad habits catching from leaving his hands exposed to blinding himself with his own glove. He’s a good bat who happens to catch, but is not and has never been a smart Baseball player.
