Yea, because in-laws really determine what we do in our careers. If we offer him a job he likes at a salary he likes, he would accept, in-laws be damned.

My parents are friends with Peterson's in-laws. They're HUGE Red Sox fans. I don't hold out much hope for him on the Yankees.

How about a package deal...Peterson brings along Rich Harden and fixes his issues so he can make more than 10 starts in a year for us? Harden would be a great insurance plan for Wang and Hughes/Joba not succeeding as starters next year.

Any thoughts on recently let go hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo? I know Kevin Long has done a great job at the minors but why not as a roving hitting instructor a la Nardi Contreras for our minor league teams? I've heard nothing but great things about this guy and if he's the real deal why stop at former gm's and pitching coaches?

I'm not so much worried about that, as about how Peterson's philosophy will mesh with what's already in place, and thus affect the pitchers in the organization.

Getting people to work together is administration. Blending different philosophies without adulterating either one is something else.

Yeah, that's totally all Towers's fault. There are no extenuating circumstances. Way to show perspective, Lanny.
