First season a success for Yankee Stadium Metro-North stop
ByThe ridership numbers are in for the new Metro-North Yankees/E. 153rd St. station, and officials at the commuter rail are pleased with the results. During the regular season, ridership levels averaged 2800 per weekday game and 4000 per weekend game. Those numbers reached 4800 per game for the playoffs and peaked for Game 6 of the World Series with over 6000 fans turning to Metro-North last Wednesday. “Overall, for the first season, the results are very good. It is a big success,” Howard Permut, president of Metro-North, said. For more on this station’s first season in operation and my thoughts on why ridership was lower than initially projected, check out my coverage at Second Ave. Sagas.

u guys update so much more than lohud now. it must b bc pete ab is gone. u wuld think 3 guys at lohud wuld post more than just pete.im disappointed
Including the playoffs, I went to about 25 games, and used the MTA about 20 of those, and LOVED IT!
Super easy, running trains every hour pregame, and post-game they were constantly running.
Didn’t have to worry about parking, or have a few extra brews.
I recommend it to anyone, and 9 times outta 10 would take the train!
my friend took it 3 times for games we went to including game 1 of the alcs and each time it got him there in time for the first pitch. we msised national anthem and roll call from the bleachers but when all was said and done were there for the important stuff.
48000? I think you meant 4800.
Just a little correction, sorry.
I did. Corrected.
If you have a chance, we would appreciate though if you could please email us corrections in the future. It’s far preferable to leaving them in the comments section.
ok, my bad.
It really is an excellent way to go to the game and the bonus is comparatively clean bathrooms in each car with no waiting!!!
unless they use different trains than normal the bathrooms are every other car

Well, unless pat or JMK are on the train with you, of course…
I don’t sit on the seat. Growing up, my toilet’s water level was always super high, so I’d squat above the bowl and do my thing. I’d have to jump forward to avoid the tremendous splash, though, which under the influence of alcohol, led to many injuries. Last week I was peeing and my phone (which was in my pocket) rang. It startled me and I pissed all over the wall. At work. Anyway, using the bathroom (#2, at least) on a ride like that could be dangerous, so I’d avoid it.
No need to worry about me dirtying up the bathrooms.
The Overshare at his best.
It’s moot, though. The “clean” part was for pat. The “no waiting” part was for you. You keep the bathrooms clean, but you’re in there for hours, and we know why.
It’s not quite on par with this comment, but it’s close.
That Dellin post is fun to read from top to bottom.
That whole thread is great. You guys should create RAB Classics.
Since DBHOF is back, let’s start here:

I’m glad he’s around. The off-season has a lot less going on, so what the hell, why not have fun with it? The Alex Gonzalez threads also deserve some pub. (I don’t actually think DBHOF is a troll.)
The Alex Gonzalez charade was perhaps the most memorable thing to occur on RAB. We will never stop talking about it for years, maybe ever. He will become a legend, and those who weren’t there when he was posting will not believe our stories.
Ahhh, memories.
Does anyone take the train from up in CT? I live up near New Haven and was curious how muchg switching, if any, I had to do to get to the new MTA stop outside the Stadium…
