In the actual Youtube site the OP says he’s going to do that when he has time.

Two Words. Goose Bumps!

Evil Empire says:

Of two things I have no doubt:

The Yankees are the greatest team in the history of sports.

And Explosions In The Sky is the greatest background music in the history of sports montages.

Whoa.

Seriously, this is giving me tears.

Never mind it’s just a tad dated =)

Wow.

Tino, Jeter, Brosius, and Boone consecutively gave me goosebumps.

Just….

Explosions in the Sky. So awesome…

Anthony Murillo says:

Anyone ever seen the ‘Yankee Dynasty’ video on youtube? It’s to the music of “Heart of a Champion” by Nelly and focuses on the 96-2000 team. There’s a crappy version of it on youtube if you type in “Yankee Empire” but I cannot find the original video :(

This really was amazing. I really hope the creator of the video makes some updates, including the game tying Home Run’s A-Rod hit off of Nathan and Funetes, plus the team celebrating on the field after winning #27.

Jeremy says:

Great video. I would love to see Arod destroying Nathan, Fuentes and Lidge in an updated version. Damon leaving Pedro Feliz in the dust would be great also.

CapitalT says:

I’d add the George Bush 1st pitch after 9/11

Ross says:

Can’t wait to see the additions. I’d add Jeter’s speech to close the old stadium and then some kind of nod to A-Rod’s heroics in the ‘09 playoffs. Very nice video.

Riddering says:

What a beautiful, epic video. This team brings me to tears yet again.

Matt says:

Yep, terrific. Explosions in the Sky perfect for this as they are on Friday Night Lights.

bigpinklips says:

Wow. That was awesome.

Tremendous video. Amazing how much footage he packed into 8 minutes and how many amazing memories I’ve had in my lifetime of watching the Yanks.

The part that brings me on the edge of tears is the Murcer game. For background, that game was on the night when they buried Thurman, and Bobby was his closest friend on the team. Reggie was in tears in RF, and half the stadium joined him.

Murcer single-handedly won that game with a HR earlier and the 2 run walk-off hit they showed in the clip. That is to this day, the single most heroic thing I’ve ever seen on a Baseball diamond.

OldYanksFan says:

Thanks Mike. Simply awesome!

And yes…. we usually talk about ‘must win’ games relative to winning the season/PS/WS, but Murcer’s winning the game the day of Thurman’s funeral redefined ‘Must Win’.

I remember as a young adult crying when Bobby got that hit. I was SOOOO relieved. Losing that game would have felt like death again.

Thurman. The most tragic Yankee event since Lou.

BT says:

What a great video. A storied franchise and lots of class – it solidifies why I have been a Yankee fan for 62 years.

Boogie Down says:

Amen. We just need Jeter’s speech closing out Old Yankee Stadium, and his breaking the hit record. Plus everything else from 2009.

Great video, but outdated. Where’s 2009!?

Mike52 says:

Great video. Loved the announcer’s calls and some of the original game video.

Would’ve loved if he had used Gary Thorne’s call on the Brosius HR in 2001 vs. the Diamondbacks where he loses his mind…”THEY HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!”

Abe says:

Unbelievable video. All I can say is that I am truly blessed to be a Yankee fan.
I think the Jeter – Jeffrey Maier home run against the Orioles in the 1996 ALCS should be in there.

Stryker says:

got chills watching clips of the older yankees who i haven’t had the privilege of seeing play. man, what i wouldn’t give to watch a game with gehrig and dimaggio.

55 says:

Pretty sure the song is “Your hand in mine,” and yeah, it’s perfect.

I got chills watching it. I’m surprised MLB hasn’t removed this yet.

DCBX says:

Outstanding!!! A great reminder of the reasons that I am a Yankee fan for life.

I especially loved rewatching the stuff I remember from childhood… Rags’ no-hitter, Mattingly homering in his 8th straight game, the Abbott no-hitter…
