They eat pieces of shit for breakfast?

Justin says:

I see I’ve returned from the class room at a poor time..

Obnoticus says:

No, you came back just in time to see the Yanks stage another comeback win

Pasqua says:

If this is Game 5 ALCS A.J. then this game is far from over. Stabilize and attack, boys!

Jackson says:

I’m going to go out on a limb and say the Yankees are done scoring tonight. Confidence is high.

Jackson says:
Mike bk says:

i was going to say either you are a phils fan or there was a contradiction there.

Jay says:

Ok. They got 3. AJ will settle down.

We got this.

Mike bk says:

Gardy hit, steal, Molina bunt, AJ grounder and 3-2.

ansky says:

Do we stop pitching to Utley now?

For real, in how many postseason eventual wins this season have we trailed at some point? Like, half of them?

Jackson says:

Enough for me to be totally confident in the inevitable Yankee comeback

THIS GUY KNOWS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT

Doug says:

THIS GUY DEFINITELY KNOWS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT

/raaaaaaaandy

Arman Tamzarian says:

Though I wouldn’t mind seeing Posada get in soon, but that’s a conversation that’s getting tired

TheLastClown says:

All the Minny games.

Games 5 & 6 of the CS.

Game 2 & 3 of this series.

Thank you kindly, sir. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

MikeD says:

Okay now, let’s hope Lee remains off his game and AJ finds his balance. Only in the second inning. We ARE winning this game.

JoeFromBayRidge says:

AJ is ready to put up 5 0’s, just like in Anaheim.

Cliff Lee looks primed to drop his ‘every 8 awesome starts I lay a major stinker’ start. Only one inning in, I know, but in Game 1 he made the hitters look like idiots, all night. IT doens’t look like that tonight.

Salty Buggah says:

We got this. AJ will settle down now like ALCS Game 5. Hopefully this one has a different ending than that one.

Dave G says:

Indeed. We are winning tis game.

Mike bk says:

run on victorino and every chance.

Mike bk says:

T-Dubs says:

This series is making me hate the entire city of Philadelphia. Put down the stupid towels! Between them and thundersticks I’m going crazy!

JJhammer31 says:

remember this is AJ Burnett. He’ll look like crap in one inning and then he’s sandy koufax for the next seven. I actually like our chances more than when the game started because Lee looks very hittable tonight.

Dela G says:

alright, let’s go grab them fucking bayonets and win this shit TSJC style

Fuck the house WE’RE SENDING THE WHOLE FUCKIN BLOCK

Dela G says:

Doug says:

YOU’RE GONNA CHEER FOR OUR BOYS UNTIL YOUR THROAT IS LEATHER. AND WE’RE GONNA WIN, AND THEN YOU’RE GONNA GO HOME, GRAB YOUR WIFE’S HAIR, AND FUCK HER UNTIL HER KNEES SHAKE! RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR KIDS!

I feel like I wasn’t invited to the caps lock party.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

I’m busy fapping to pics of skanks in their Halloween slut suits on Facebook.

I’ll be right there.

Jamie says:

Hey Mike (or anyone else) – how fast does pitch/fx load up during the game? If i want to try and follow the strike zone during the game does it make sense to go that route (through Brooks Baseball) or to just follow on gameday?

Brooks uploaded very quickly. Might be an at-bat behind, but that’s it.

Salty Buggah says:

Go to Gameday, its the same thing and is like 5-7 seconds late.

Salty Buggah says:

WTF man. He touched those exact spots on his cap?!

That pitch to Gardner was in exactly the same spot as the one to Howard.

dalelama says:

I wish our #3 was as half as productive as their’s, Tex and Cano are just killing us–absolutely nothing…it is going to be hard to win with 6 auto outs in the line-up.

Mike bk says:

and they wish their 4 was as productive as ours, so it goes both ways.

dalelama says:

They dont have six auto outs though….

They have other concerns. Like, for example, why Ryan Howard sucks balls or what they’re going to do even if they manage to win this game and have to throw Pedro and Hamels in two more elimination games.

I get it. Hamels is hitting well, and Tex isn’t. I still don’t give a shit. Our problems are smaller than their problems.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

Hamels is hitting well?

Sorry, Utley. Confused my lanky Philadelphia white guys with bad hair.

dalelama says:

As awful as Howard has been he has as many hits as Tex and Cano combined…

As awesome as Utley has been the Phillies have still lost three of the four games playes thus far.

I can do this shit all day with you, bro.

We’re still gonna fuckin’ kill em.

Obnoticus says:

Girardi out to the mound says:

Apparently Yankee players do not have names and actually just go by how much their contract is. $180 million with a nice play at first or or last night with $161 million man pitching great. Every two minutes all postseason long Joe fucking Buck has to tell us about who the Yankees “bought” or invested in.

I guess the Twins, Angels, and Phillies players play for free.

ROBTEN says:

McCarver just said that American League hitters are not familiar with Cliff Lee.

Wow.

Maybe he should just sit the next few innings out.

Mike bk says:

gardy almost won a race on a grounder to first.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Gardy try to leg out a bunt.

Riddering says:

Hit one out, Molina!

Russell NY says:

I feel confident that we will get 3 runs with Gardner, Molina, and Burnett up to bat.

AJ says:

In this postseason, we’ve seen the Yankees offense respond when the other team scores. It may be immediate (the ninth last night) or delayed, but the Yankees offense has seldom went down without a fight. If AJ can hold down the Phils, this team can and will come back.

AJ says:

If they’re coming to back, it’s going to have to be the one through six spots producing tonight. That Melky injury really hurt this team in the lineup and defensively (with his arm strength).

JMK aka The Overshare says:

At least Lee doesn’t look terribly sharp tonight.

Russell NY says:

noMaas just tweeted: If Posada was catching, Utley’s HR would have counted twice.

Hahahahahahahaha

Mike bk says:

actually 3 times since he did call 3 hr’s utley already hit.

Arman Tamzarian says:

Lee doesn’t look very sharp, this should be easy

Joey H says:

Lets hope they shut those battery throwing mother fuckers of fans up.

C says:

Good AB by Jose. Make him throw as many pitches as possible

Esteban says:

Tim McCarver, wrong in so many ways. Cliff Lee WON THE CY YOUNG LAST YEAR

At this point for the one third of the lineup that are black holes, a bat with at least 3 pitches is a success.

dalelama says:

You mean Tex, Cano, and Swisher ? or Gardner, Molina, and Burnett ? LOL

Riddering says:

Love Molina for making Lee throw that many pitches.

Dela G says:

that was a gritty AB by molina

too bad he couldnt get on base

ShuutoHeat says:

He burned through quite a few pitches.

Doug says:

We shouldn’t get too greedy here. Count our blessings.

Good swing, just a little late.

Mike bk says:

hey for 3 sure outs i will take 14 pitches.

Brazilian Yankee says:

That bottom third needs to improve a lot to be bad.

Riddering says:

OH MY GOD CLIFF LEE STRUCK OUT THE PITCHER.

Let’s all retire to our bunks, shall we?

JMK aka The Overshare says:

I’m way ahead of you. I’ve been fapping for a about 45 minutes.

Riddering says:

Just…just take it easy on that thing. We’ve got seven more innings to get through.

Ooh impressive. Gritner, Molian and AJ are tough hitters to get excited about when they get out Joe Buck.
Top of the order second time through. They got this.

Salty Buggah says:

14 pitches that inning, more than what I was expecting.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

Cliff Lee has become a TOALLY DIFFERENT PITCHER since being traded about three months ago.

Um, what?

Pasqua says:

You know what that was? McCarver forgot momentarily that Lee pitched for the Indians, so when he made the comment about the Yanks not being used to him, he needed to come up with something fast. And, being Tim McCarver, he came up with something even more asinine.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

I’m actually even more impressed now. I would have preferred if he had randomly screamed something like, “Hey look, it’s Bigfoot with Cliff Lee!” as a bit of misdirection, but I’m impressed all the same.

Mike Pop says:

AL Hitters have no idea who he is.

AJ says:

I hate when analysts say that. The only thing that changed about his game was the fact that he went to the NL, where we all know the lineups are weaker.

JJhammer31 says:

yea, he was talking out of his ass and then he realized that the guy had spent his whole career in the AL.

PsiFighter37 says:

Blah, the bottom third of tonight’s lineup is a black hole. Goddamn, if Matsui could even be trusted to play any defense at all…

JJhammer31 says:

Lee is not the same pitcher he was in Game 1. I’m not saying the Yankees will drop 7 runs on him, but he’s not going more than 6 innings. If Burnett settles down and gives them innings, the Yankees should win this game.

Pasqua says:

Is Buck planning on a keeping a verbal tally of Lee’s strikeouts? He struck-out the pitcher. Look out world!

And I agree with y’all: This ain’t the same Lee tonight.

crapula says:

I remember last night we had it sewn up in the 1st. what’s with tonight?

zoudini says:

is it just me or is the Bank a “bigger disgrace” than TDTISNYS?

Doug says:

Good lord, it’s a pentagon.

Coming up next on FOX: E-Ring, starring Benjamin Bratt, Aunjanue Ellis, and Dennis Hopper.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

Nuva Ring, starring the cast of The View.

I feel sick typing that.

Salty Buggah says:

Oh definitely. Similar HRs and more runs.

JJhammer31 says:

Cheering when your pitcher strikes out an AL pitcher is like cheering when your power forward rejects a special olympian.

Brazilian Yankee says:

That’s a bit harsh.

Mike Pop says:

Shut em down A.J.

Doug says:

More words of encouragement from Rex Ryan:

We’re gonna fucking annihilate those fuckers. Then we’re gonna stomp on their heads. Then we’re gonna eat turkey drumsticks, drink Beam right from the bottle, sing Def Leppard karaoke, and bang 17-year-olds in the mouth. You ready? You gonna do some fucking?

crapula says:

What? that’s horrible. And illegal.

Jake H says:

I’m here. I got my lucky shirt on now. Sorry guys, my bad.

Girardi out to the mound says:

How is this “real” baseball as NL lovers like to call it. One of the best pitchers in baseball just faced a lifetime .132 hitter who has 5 at bats all season. What a “pure” way to showcase some of the best athletes in the world.

Imagine if they forced Eli Manning to play LB or they forced Nate Robinson to guard Tim Duncan?

IMO the pitcher batting makes the NL an absolute joke.

crapula says:

I never get the no-DH rule. It does nothing for the game. NOTHING.

pat says:

TEH DOUBLESWITCH STRATEGYYYYY

Jackson says:

I don’t know about you, but I go to baseball games to see managers manage. There is nothing more exciting than a good double switch.

JJhammer31 says:

How do you guys feel about forcing each umpire to answer questions after the game with a tv in the room. The reporters will ask: Why was this a ball? Why was this guy out? At the very least, the umps will be held accountable.

Stadium Garlic Fries says:

AJ will hold this score for a while and give offense a chance

danny says:

lets go AJ, bounce back inning time!

Salty Buggah says:

Cmon Molina, settle out there man!

danny says:

C says:

What the fuck is with this strike zone?

mustang says:

Capone: When you got an all-out prizefight, you wait until the fight is over, one guy is left standing. ‘N’ that’s how you know who won.

This just starting.

Doug says:

This umpire calls strikes Cobra style. Watch him.

Battle all the way back, A.J. Let’s go.

Doug says:

Great way to rally back for AJ.

Nice rebound AJ. K that fool.

Obnoticus says:

Let’s see if Joe Buck gets as excited when AJ strikes out Lee

Arman Tamzarian says:

Tom Zig says:

I’m so glad molina is catching, cuz you know it had such a profound effect

ShuutoHeat says:

So NOW that’s a strike?

High strike? It was at his belt!

TheLastClown says:

Stadium Garlic Fries says:

No, I wasn’t wondering about his uniform Tim. STFU

Riddering says:

Damn, the Philies even dive when moving up on HBPs. They are a bunch of ballplayers.

Salty Buggah says:

He was running and sliding head first?!!! OMFG HE’s the FIRST FUCKIN PLAYER TO DO THAT? OMFG, his uniform is dirty, he will he go on!!!!

WHERE DID THAT 2-1 PITCH MISS?!

Where is the strikezone tonight? Jesus .

Pasqua says:

Victorino would be a BIG loss for the Phillies. I’m sure Melky appreciates you completely bitch-slapping him there, Joe.

Pasqua says:

ansky says:

Great another shitty strike zone tonight!

Reggie C. says:

jimmy the mouth rollins is the beneficiary of a tight strike zone.

pat says:

I used to like him, now I see he’s a shit talking prancing little bitch.

ROBTEN says:

Was there this much concern for ARod after he was hit THREE times?

Go back in to Victorino, he’s got to by gunshy.

Dela G says:

Jake H says:

how close was that curveball? It looks like a small zone.

ShuutoHeat says:

Zone is really erratic, same high pitch that got a ball was a strike…That’s the umpires for yah.

Jamie says:

I’m following on Gameday and brooks baseball as the game goes on. . i know that its not an exact science but since Fox isn’t even showing their crap tonight (probably because they were blasting them so much last night who knows)

Anyway, the Rollins AB was a sad fucking case of umpiring I’m sorry. The curveball you speak of and another fastball and the final pitch that was a ball were actually all borderline. The 2nd questionable pitch (fastball) was there.

Oh well.

Dela G says:

Holy shit what is wrong with this k zone??

ShuutoHeat says:

OMG! Victorino is such a soldier, for taking a hit to the index finger and stay in the game! OMG! What? He also broke a nail?! OMG! Blah blah blah blah…

ansky says:

according to gameday, AJ threw 4 fucking strikes to Rollins

The Three Amigos says:

This strike zone is a joke thus far.

Good rebound inning. Top of the order; do your shit.

Victorino is hurting. He’ll probably need to come out.

Doug says:

Yeah, it looks like it stings really bad when he made contact. I think I saw the discoloration on his finger through his batting glove when he was on-deck.

The 10th rule of GRIT is to play injured, no matter how detrimental to your team.

Arman Tamzarian says:

Can’t you just grow a thicker beard to cover that up?

Do it again, top of the order.

DFD says:

the strike zone is so small, i can’t even find it

Doug says:

Mike bk says:

well victorino is done hitting for the series.

hal says:

should we take up a collection for Victorino ?

No, he’s too gritty to take donations.

Salty Buggah says:

Good rebound AJ! Has thrown only one more pitch than Lee. (but 2 more runs)

Let’s get some BABIP correction this time guys!

Hall and Nokes says:

Genius of AJ to make sure Utley comes up with nobody on.

pat says:

Victorino will be useless the rest of the game.

Obnoticus says:

Looks like Victorino really hurt his hand… how long until he comes out of the game?

Stadium Garlic Fries says:

If he is that useless, I rather have him in the game.

Obnoticus says:

Stadium Garlic Fries says:

Does Dick Bowetta live in Philly?

Who is Dick Bowetta?

Doug says:

Ah, that makes sense. Wiki says he resides in Ocala, Florida.

(Maybe Stadium Garlic Fries was listening to a Ensign Chekov broadcasting an NBA game, and that’s why he thought his name was “Bowetta”.)

JMK aka The Overshare says:

Pasqua says:

You know, I really thought Victorino was doing a little acting in the 1st inning. Whoops.

Riddering says:

A real man strikes out on a broken hand.

/Pena’d

JMK aka The Overshare says:

And throws his helmet.

/Penaouk’d

Jackson says:

I Ben Fransisco is warm

Josh K says:

The umps suck tonight, Philly fans suck tonight, Joe and Tim suck tonight, etc…

Aren’t all of these things an every night given?

Josh K says:

Haha…yeah…the same every night.

Doug says:

try to take over the world

JMK aka The Overshare says:

All of this is not exclusive to tonight.

ShuutoHeat says:

As a Yankees fan, you slowly develop a resistance to it.

Doug says:

The crowd at Yankee Stadium were so loud that Buck and McCarver were basically inaudible.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

I’m getting my vaccine so more old people die.

Salty Buggah says:

:vomits:

Looks at it again

:vomits some more:

JMK aka The Overshare says:

I can respect anorexia (they eat a grape and a piece of lettuce if they’re really hungry) but bulimia? Bitch, don’t waste that Porterhouse on the toilet. Fucking wasting my money.

Anorexics care.

Josh K says:

Suck it up Vicky…

danny says:

baby jeter and teix makes me smile everytime.

pat says:

A victorino suckfest, awesome.

Salty Buggah says:

OMG! Victorino! How will he go on?!! We need to start a charity for him. And OMG, they have dirty uniforms, never seen those before.

ShuutoHeat says:

Dude, if you can’t fucking throw the ball then leave the game.

Mike bk says:

would Werth move to center and fransico goes to right?

No, you’d put Francisco in CF, I’d imagine.

Werth in CF, Francisco is RF.

Fair enough. I hadn’t realized how solid of a CF Werth has played until I looked it up.

Yeah, slide Jayson over.

Is it just me or is Jeter taking a lot of pitches down the middle?

Jay says:

Oh so the Yankees losing Melky is no big deal, but the Phillies losing Beefarino is a horror. Buck is such an a**hole.

The Yankees are a disgrace. Hitting A-Rod is smart and tactical but hitting Victorino is clearly intentional, and AJ should be stoned for his incompetence!

/Fox’d

YankeeScribe says:

The Yanks will score against Lee again tonight

Obnoticus says:

Maybe he’ll call us Daddy just like Pedro

pat says:

Haha those Philly fans are so derisive with their half hearted boos and whatnot.

Let’s go, Johnny. Start it up again.

Stadium Garlic Fries says:

oh..i got it, players need to be x-ray’d when he is hurt

Josh K says:

I was trying to listen to NY 880am on the radio but the broadcast is a few seconds behind from what is on Fox…oh well.

TJ says:
claybeez says:

Did it during the ALCS. Got it synced perfectly with DVR. But, after commercial, TV and Radio came back “live” at different times. Kept having to resync, so I just gave up.

Reggie C. says:

Good AB so far JD.

Work the BB.

Way to go, Johnny. Let’s come through here, Tex.

AJ says:

C’mon Tex. Make Lee pay!

Josh K says:

Nice Damon…let’s go Tex.

PsiFighter37 says:

Alright we got Johnny on again. Do something this time, Mark! Remember what Jedi Master Kevin Long told you before the game.

ShuutoHeat says:

Maybe Lee would’ve been better off on 3 days rest, heh.

Jake H says:

Lee doesn’t look sharp at all.

Mike bk says:

just keep plugging lee is not nearly as good tonight 44 pitches thru damon.

Damn, straighten that out, Tex!

Esteban says:

Lee’s at 45 pitches now

Dela G says:

johnny is turning into an onbase machine

Reggie C. says:

healthy cut !

C’mon Teix. Keep it fair and far !

JJhammer31 says:

i’m surprised McCarver has made predicted that Lee looks off tonight.

danny says:

mwahaaha 9? what a joke.

/evil empire’d

zoudini says:

i saw the answer but i missed the question… what was it?

danny says:

which al team has 2nd most championships

The A’s won three in Philadelphia (under Connie Mack) and then three in a row in Oakland in the 70’s, plus the LaRussa ‘89 series.

zoudini says:

imo lees fastball is just not that sharp tonight… looks really flat/straight even for a 4 seamer, wonder why the batters are taking, if he keeps missing his spots i would think it would make it more enticing to take a good rip at one

AJ says:

C’mon Tex, battle here and get a hit.

Obnoticus says:

nice slide from Johnny

PsiFighter37 says:

Goddammit Mark, you are worthless with your bat this postseason…

Doug says:

Good slide by Johnny, but Tex still doesn’t look good at the plate.

Let’s go, A-Rod.

hal says:

yea , but he can field

Mike bk says:

never touched the bag.

Pasqua says:

I actually think he might have.

AJ says:

Shortstops and second baseman will consistently get the “neighborhood” call. I know we saw it not called in the ALCS, but that’s a rarity.

AJ says:

I meant called. Sorry about that.

AJ says:

Alright A-Rod, let’s get another RBI or two here.

Esteban says:

Neighborhood play?

Holy fuck these umpires are full of fail.

danny says:

ugh, teix you’ve had better swings.

Voice Of Reason says:

Fuck the Neighborhood play. Fuck it long and fuck it hard. Sorry.

Pasqua says:

Wait. Compliments for Johnny Damon and then REPLAYS of a potential Phillies gaff? What is FOX doing?

Joker, The says:

Man, Tex picked a really shitty time to be awful at the plate.

Esteban says:

damnit Arod just missed that

Fuck, just got under it.

Can’t let Lee off the hook when he’s not sharp.

Salty Buggah says:

Well hit by A-Rod I guess. We are getting hard outs for the most part.

Jay says:

Man….A-Rod just missed that one.

Voice Of Reason says:

Oh Joe Buck. We know the glove is on his left hand you Jewbag.

Sam says:

Jewbag? Way to be a dick.

pat says:

Mike bk says:

the voice of reason my ass. douchebag wasnt enough have to go all anti semite

Yeah really, don’t say that again.

I’m confused, too: Joe Buck isn’t even Jewish.

The Three Amigos says:

I dont think he is Jewish, but either way… Really?

JMK aka The Overshare says:

I bet you’re an excellent singer.

Doug says:

God bless John Michael Higgins.

Pasqua says:
Doug says:

He can be described in one word: Professional.

Josh K says:

Wow…Vicky can catch according to Joe…that’s a great observation.

Dela G says:

oh well a-rod, maybe next time

TJ says:

Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and outs at second

/McCarver’d

Voice Of Reason says:

Reggie C. says:

Arod can’t do it all tonight. Teix needs to start hitting better now.

Mike bk says:

50 pitches in 3 innings…we will get to him and then we will pound the pen.

pete says:

that’s The Pen* to you, mr bk.

*registered trademark

pat says:

Lets put one in Utely’s earhole.

Obnoticus says:

only after we take a huge lead

Hall and Nokes says:

50 pitches, one strikeout (the pitcher), decent number of just misseds at the plate. I’d feel great about this, but for the black hole at the back of the lineup.

Pasqua says:

Love the moniker, btw.

Riddering says:

Two walks as well, which is a promising sign.

Mike Pop says:

Patience people. 5th and 6th inning is when we attack, like alaways.

Stadium Garlic Fries says:

50 pitches thru 3 for Lee..at least he is being worked here.

At least Lee won’t pitch the complete game.

Dave G says:

I was nervous as hell before the game. But now I am strangely calm. This two run deficit is not upsetting me. I feel very good about this game.

pat says:

Yeah a 2 game cushion will do that to ya.

Pasqua says:

There’s just a lot of reasons to be positive. A potential win in a house money game = less frustrations and worry.

JJhammer31 says:

I was very worried about another lights out performance by Lee. But, I think he’ll be gone by the middle of the 7th. The Yankees will score at least 5 runs tonight. Hopefully, that will be enough.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

It sure would be swell if Utley didn’t homer here.

Obnoticus says:

JJhammer31 says:

this is a huge inning for burnett. he gets through this and he’ll be scoreless into the 6th.

Arman Tamzarian says:

Please do not throw any strikes to Chase Utley

Wasn’t that 2-0 pitch called a ball on the 1-0 pitch? I really don’t get this strike zone.

Obnoticus says:

looks like there are 2 strike zones for the 2 pitchers. Lee’s extend all the way to the right batter box, of course

pete says:

i am ok with utley walking there

AJ says:

Do you think the team would actually pitch around Utley to get to Howard? I know he hasn’t been on all series, but he’s still a home run threat every time he’s at the plate.

Doug says:

I’m OK with not giving him any pitches to hit.

Arman Tamzarian says:

perfectly fine walk

I’m not at all mad at that leadoff walk.

ROBTEN says:

Really, Victorino AGAIN?

ansky says:

Second straight day w/ a handicapped match. yanks vs Phillies and home plate ump.

hal says:

no , please keep talking Victorino all night , Joey

pat says:

Anybody who gets a hit to CF shou.ld immediately try and take 2b on Queefarino.

Bad feeling with Howard here.

danny says:

i could really care less about victorino, get over it already

JMK aka The Overshare says:

Don’t make any mention of A-Rod having been hit three times or how Melky, our CF is injured and not in the game…

C says:

Victorino either need to suck it up or get out of the game

Klemy says:

He wants to be the next bloody sock.

hal says:

no Buck tears for Melky, I guess

Come on, Jeter. You’ve gotta catch that.

Mariano's Pimp Hand says:

Posada would’ve had him.

pat says:

Molina did have em, jeets couldnt dig it.

Doug says:

JEET you had him…

cjc says:

nice grab Jeter fuck

Reggie C. says:

Ugh. Get Posada in there.

pat says:

AHH come on jeets.

danny says:

GAH he would have been so out

Pitch around him to get to Werth?

That was a strike, and a better throw gets him there.

Stadium Garlic Fries says:

damn…he should have been out by mile

PsiFighter37 says:

Blah, not setting up to be a good inning.

Jake H says:

no curve tonight for AJ. He doesn’t look good mechanically.

The Three Amigos says:

More importantly, how was that not a strike on the stolen Base it was right down the middle.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

Don’t blame Jeter, it was a bad throw.

pat says:

Ehhh, a shorthop right there, he should have had that.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

He should have, but let’s not pretend like it was a very good throw.

pat says:

The throw was better than the tag attempt.

Michael Kay says:

And now a word from Joe Buck & Shane Victorino

Buck “Thousands of Americans suffer debilitating hand injuries a year. Computer Programmers, Seamstresses, and even All-Star ball players.”

Shane “Thats right Joe. I never thought it could happen to me. Then my life was changed forever in Game 5 of the 2009 World Series.”

Buck “A man who once, and still, patrols the outfield for a World Series team may never be able to open a can of soup again. I know we’ve asked you in the past to donate and lend your support to Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s research, but I implore, no I BEG you to please donate to this much more worthy cause.”

Shane “Please send your checks care of “Joe Buck’s Shane Victorino’s poor swollen hand fund”

Buck “Each donation will receive a DVD of my visual evidence autographed personally by Shane & myself.”

Dela G says:

Esteban says:

Okay, 3-1? Do not put this any where near the strike zone.

zoudini says:

that was most definitely jeter’s fault…

and joe, tim, can we please stop riding utley’s magic stick until the phillies actually win a game.. if it was a-rod, we’d be hearing about stat padding and solo hr’s that dont count bc theyre not in the 7 inn/later

Klemy says:

Christ. I guess we didn’t get good AJ tonight.

Shane Victorino, the cryin’ Hawaiian.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

I’m a little less okay with that walk, but it was probably better not to let Howard have a rip.

Roll one here, A.J.

Brazilian Yankee says:

If AJ is looking like garbage on 3 days rest one can only imagine how bad Pettitte will looking considering he’s old and he hasn’t done well on 3 days rest his whole career.

The decision to start AJ tonight might have guaranteed the Phillies of a game 7. Great decision Joe.

If AJ is looking like garbage on 3 days rest one can only imagine how bad Pettitte will looking

This is just such a big logic fail it’s not even funny.

Matt says:

And if Burnett pitched well, you would praise Joe for putting out the best pitcher available…

Brazilian Yankee says:

I’m not paid to make decisions. He is

No, he wouldn’t. That’s why it’s fruitless to engage him in conversation. He’s proven incapable of reasonable dialogue.

Brazilian Yankee says:

Andy is older and hasn’t done well on 3 days rest his whole career. How can you expect him do to well?

zoudini says:

please, i promise, if you disconnect your keyboard and/or your internet, the yankees will win and no more innocent kittens will have to die for your commenting sins

Jim says:

dude. STFU. i dont want to hear you when we come back and win this game. My gosh.

Dela G says:

You got this, AJ.

danny says:

why is the stadium playing “Sex on Fire” lol

TJ says:

I wish I could be happy about a K-Rob sighting

chriskeo says:

You can be, because there was no Gaudin sighting.

JMK aka The Overshare says:

His control just isn’t there tonight.

Obnoticus says:

velocity’s still there though. Hopefully he gets out of this unscathed

Obnoticus says:

Crap. Spoke too soon

JMK aka The Overshare says:

I didn’t mention the velocity.

Mike bk says:

why K-Rob, hoping to turn the lineup over and then bring in Ace or Gaudin for length?

Strikeout pitcher to get out of the jam, I assume.

Arman Tamzarian says:

That didn’t go well

Arman Tamzarian says:

that’s not where that was supposed to go

pat says:

HAHAHAHA a Yankees Suck chant, how cute philly.

pat says:

Good cutoff, kept the force in order.

Jake H says:

Way too good pitch to hit.
