All this guy does is get outs when in matters. I'm not sure why anyone else has thrown any innings this postseason.

I'm not making any judgment about whether or not Molina should start, I'm just noting that he made about 4 really nice stops in game 2. Giving the guy his due and what not.

I love misusing and abusing statistics.
Makes me feel like a Baseball Tonight host.

More fun below!

Chad Gaudin's career postseason ERA is 0.00! (4.33 innings).

Further, that includes 3.33 innings in the 2006 ALCS in which he walked three batters. Since he allowed no runs despite those walks, it shows Gaudin has MOXIE and knows how to work out of jams.

The other inning was his perfect 1-2-3 inning in this year's ALCS against a tough Angels team. So he's on a hot streak, to boot.

Yeah, he's also allowed some balls to get by him this postseason as well. As has posada, but Jorge also made nice blocks of the ball in the dirt when he caught AJ during the Angels game.

AJ has thrown shitty baseball with Molina back there and he's thrown great baseball with Molina back there. He's thrown shitty baseball with Posada back there, and great baseball. No one has run wild on the Yanks this season, and Molia made one good snap throw in the last game.

I just can't fathom how people can think that makes it ok to put a lineup on the field with Molina AND a pitcher in it when they're facing Cliff Lee. But, there's not going to be any rational discussion about this anyway. When AJ was good, it was because Molina was back there. When he was bad, AJ just didn't have command, but Molina nursed him through.

Oh, and he has never allowed even a single run in the month of November.

Plus, his career record against teams who call Pennsylvania home is a perfect 1-0.

Free Chad Gaudin from Joe Girardi's Chains of Ignorance!
