Wrong. Fox is trying to get more money out of Time Warner, and they are threatening to not allow Time Warner to broadcast Fox stations.

Yeah, Murdoch’s been bitching about plummetting ad revs for years now, along with everyone else in the media biz. So now he’s looking to get the cable companies to chip in.
“I’m Rupert Murdoch – the billionaire tyrant!”
When an entire industry loses money, Murdoch says fuck you, you lose more money so I can stay the same.
Well, the alternative is to drown along with everyone else. I don’t blame him for trying to survive, if I were him I’d want to be the last man standing, too. Also, if he gets away with this, other in his industry will surely take notice and may benefit as well.
No, the alternative is to pursue alternatives, instead of holding on for dear life to a business model that no longer works.
Sounds good in theory, but if the alternatives were working then someone would do extremely well pursuing them while everyone else was doing things the old way. Then the old guard would take notice, and everyone would copy/follow with a year or two. But that just hasn’t happened yet. All of this is still evolving and innovating so fast that nobody knows who the winners are yet, or what the format is that they’ll be working on.
I don’t know who’s trying to get money from who, and frankly I don’t care. If I can’t watch 24 in a few weeks, I’m going to crack some skulls.
If TWC wants to charge me $5 more a month, so be it. They’re already charging me $150 a month for cable, internet, and all that shit.
What about the NFL playoffs? Or the Sugar, Cotton, Fiesta and Orange Bowls?
As the sponsor for the Sugar bowl, I would have think Allstate is worried about a deal not getting worked out.
The NFL playoffs are important. I can live without the bowl games.

I’m not anti-big biz, far from it. But the radio ads FOX has constantly been airing are a joke. “Call TWC and demand your FOX!” Right, and demand them to pass along the price increase on your cable bill while your at it.
I’m stuck with TWC. My Condo doesn’t allow DISH, FIOS or anything else. I could have saved a bundle by doing all my stuff with Verizon, but I can’t. So I have no sympathy for either of them.
Just FYI even if they dont keep FOX, your box and DVR rates are going up.

If you think about it, the Sox would be really good if they got Lackey, Bay, Holliday, AND A-Gon. That’s a powerhouse team right there.

None of us could imagine what it would be like to want something so much and work for something so hard and not come close to getting it. At least I couldn’t.
As a senior High School baseball player… that movie really inspired me to work the extra couple of days a week.
I could never imagine how hard it would be to be that motivated to do it every day.
This is the same country where their robots make Christmas dinner and are polyglots. They can also buy nirvana in vending machines.

UConn’s losing to Cincy right now. I’m none too happy with this. I’m slowly but surely realizing that this year will be rather disappointing for UConn. It won’t be as bad as ’06-’07 when they missed the tournament completely, but definitely not a Final Four worthy team.
How this team is ranked tenth in the country is beyond me.

According to Mark Newman Jeremy Bleich was regulary touching 94. If so that is very very good.
That would be pretty insane. Maybe in bullpen sessions or Instructs. I didn’t think he had that kind of velocity in game situations. Wowsers.
I was shocked to when I read it. If he can sit in the low 90′s and touch 94 with his secondary pitches which were listed as plus that is huge.
I feel like something is off with him though. A smart collegiate pitcher who is supposedly hitting 94 with dynamite secondary stuff, he should have killed A ball instead of putting up a 4.4 fip and a 1.5 whip. I guess as Newman said, his command must have been terrible. 4.71 bb/9 is not too good.
It seems as if Trenton got the best of him. BB/9 jumped up from 2.5 to 4.7 from Tampa to Trenton, but his K/9 also jumped.
Fun fact, his birthday is exactly three days after mine.

My guess is that they might have altered his mechanics. They seem to do that with every pitcher that they draft. Also sometimes guys just lose it too for a time. He is young so I’m not worried. Let him pitch in AA and hopefully dominate it.
That’d be good news, if true. Lefties with gas are always welcome, provided they don’t point at all flyballs, or are capable of finding the plate without using a map.
It would be better if he were throwing it around the plate (not impressed by Bleich. Don’t hate him as much as Gardner, though).

I guess the team’s coach must’ve been impressed enough with Montero’s batting reps to finally let him play. If Montero wasn’t hurt then I guess he was simply not playing due to the coach’s decision. Anyways, the 1B development is new. I guess Montero’s been taking 1B reps too this off-season. I wonder if that was the coach’s decision too …

Well, the Broncos might miss the playoffs after starting 6-0. Though to be fair, no one even thought they could win even 6 games but they’ve already won 8. I guessed 9-7 with no playoffs so hopefully my 1st part is right and 2nd part isnt.
