Maybe going into the playoffs 2 out of 3 years would help the fanbase. For someone like them, where another push might just cause a positive material change in their fanbase (and thus revenue stream), that could be extra impetus to make a deal. If the Rays could do it without trading Wade Davis and ownership is willing to spend the money on a 1 year rental, it might be worth considering given their situation.
