JoVa killing it.
11HRs in 112 AB’s? Just sick.
I’ve said many times I think he’ll be an option for DH in NY come July.
he has also struck out almost as many times as he has hit..
You have a problem with a 19.5% K rate? I’d say that’s more than acceptable.
Miranda is still the better player. Look at his stats.
Why use Vazquez?
That’s not my argument. I just think criticizing a guy for having a relatively good strikeout rate is somewhat misguided. But just for fun…
Juan Miranda AA OPS: .832
Jorge Vasquez AA OPS: .935
Juan Miranda K%: 23.0
Jorge Vasquez K%: 20.0
I’d say the numbers don’t immediately tell you he’s better. The fact that Miranda is younger and has done well on a higher level would. But thats a different story.
It’s winter ball.
Hes the MVP of winter ball.
comparing two 4A players like Vasquez n Miranda? why not include shelley duncan too
We were waiting for you to tell us which prospects were good enough to talk about here.
Do any of my fellow Creightonians in Wordekemper or Vendettie have a shot at the majors.
Nope.
Wordekemper is trade-bait.
Mr. Nova is dominating!
Well, he’s been shut down for a month now. But yea, he did dominate.
That Montero kid must suck. He’s doing terribly!!!!
what a bust
So is Juan Miranda going to be the next Shelly Duncan?
Corona only has 1 K? As far as pointless sss stats go, that’s impressive.
He has 17 strikeouts. I think the “SSS -FTW!” was for all the other statistics.
I can’t believe the Chris Smith Era is over. I think I have a video of him grounding into a double play and you hear me laugh at the end. I feel kind of guilty now. Good luck, Chris. At least the Yankees will pay for his education.
Guess those Strawberry comps were a little off by his coach.
He never said, “He looks like Strawberry”. He said, “He likes Strawberry shortcake”.
miss quoted. Typical media.
He meant DJ Strawberry. Darryl’s son.
Oh yeah, Romulo Sanchez picked up 4 wins in 5 days. He’s been straight up dealing the last couple of weeks.
Romulo’s shining in his reliever role. How much time do you think he needs before he can join the parent club as a reliever? There’s a serious lack of depth of ML-ready relievers. I’m not convinced Melancon joins the Yankees out of ST. Romulo might have as good a shot as Melancon for that spot formerly occupied by Bruney.
He has gotten better as the VWL season has gone along. His early season struggles could be explained by the fact that he was pitching everyday instead of on 4 days rest.
When you have a fastball like he does, you always have a punchers chance of making the big squad. But, all the reports I’ve read, is that as a starter, he was able to maintain his velocity into the later innings of his starts.
I think his 2010 future will be decided by the Yankees ability to sign another starter. If they sign Sheets or J-Douche, I think Romulo goes to the bullpen, if not, he starts in Scranton.
Sorry to just jump in, but do you have the names of the DSL players? Thanks for any.
Nitxon Perez and Arkeily LaPaix.
