Jean Afterman honored as Woman of the Year

Via YankeesPR, Yankees’ assistant general manager Jean Afterman is being honored by Women in Sports and Events as one of it’s Women of the Year. Afterman has been Brian Cashman‘s primary assistant since 2001, and as far as I know, she’s more involved with the business aspect of the game (contract negotiations, etc), not necessarily player evaluation and what not.

Congrats to Afterman, being named Woman of the Year by any organization is a pretty big deal.
