2010 Draft: Baseball America’s Mock Draft v2.0

By

The draft is now just a week away, so Jim Callis at Baseball America posted the second version of his mock draft. Last time around he had the Yankees grabbing Clemson outfielder Kyle Parker, but this time he has them selecting Texas high school righty Tyrell Jenkins. This certainly isn’t the first time we’ve heard his name connected to the Yanks, and you can read all you need to know about him here. The Yanks were pretty hot on Slade Heathcott at this time last year, so it’s looking more and more like Jenkins is the guy.

Tyrell Jenkins is a world class name as well. Can we call him Tyrell “Cookie Head” Jenkins around here?

  2. JMK says:

If he were signable, I’d love to see the Yanks take Zach Lee. Of course, if the team could get both, man, that would be fantastic.

Too bad I’ll be gone without any internet access while the draft takes place. Ho hum.

Frank Pillere had his latest mock draft and he has the yankees selecting Jedd Gyorko. According to him, the yankees have been scouting him heavily and word around the industry is that they are targeting him for their first pick. What’s your thoughts on selecting Gyorko Mike?

  5. Rick in Boston says:

Law has Jenkins to the Yankees in his last update, too, if I remember correctly. I like it. You can never have enough young pitchers.

  6. Clemson Rob says:

I think it would be eerily similar if the Yankees drafted Kyle Parker (from my alma mater) who I think people will compare to former Yankee draftee Drew Henson, both being decent D1 starting QBs and playing some 3B.
