Yankees to scout Asher Wojciechowski
ByVia Josh Norris, the Yankees are sending “high-ranking scouts” (Kevin Towers?) to watch The Citadel righty Asher Wojciechowski start the first game of the Southern Conference Tournament tomorrow. “He’ll work at 92-94,” says Keith Law, “but regularly runs it up to 96 or better over the course of a typical start.” He also mentions that he throws a sharp slurve at 80-82 mph, but has an underdeveloped changeup. At 6-foot-4, 235 lbs., Wojciechowski’s got a nice big frame. Here’s his MLB.com scouting report, which includes video.
Baseball America ranked Wojciechowski as the 22nd best prospect in the draft while KLaw had him 28th. Big college righthanders that won’t demand a way over-slot bonus are a hot commodity come draft day, so there’s a good chance he’ll be off the board before the Yanks’ first pick comes at #32 overall.

I was going to say, I unfairly have negative feelings toward all Wojciechowski because Gene is so terrible.
I don’t know what would be worse, if he was related to Gene or Steve.
Is this possibly the last year without a hard slot? Shouldn’t Cash and D-Opp go buck wild and draft overslot with every pick and spend a ton of cash.
This guy doesn’t fit that mold though.
Only reason I dont want him is I dont have to spell his last name. wink.
If he is the number 20′s prospect and he wont ask for a big buck then I dont see how would he be ours.
I like either Zach Lee or Tyrell Jenkins. I think the former will go to LSU as full time starting QB. I think Yankees’ chance with Jenkins is better than Lee because it is Baylor’s football team. lol.
I will kill Yankees if they take either Ranaudo or Choice or maybe Wilson.

well, both are expendable after this season so it does not matter. lol.
anyway, I get feeling that Yanks wont get SS until at least 6th round from what I have gathered (really one source). Bullock!
Supposedly Zach Lee is really hard to sign, I bet he goes in a really late round as a backup plan for some team.

Experience and a track record of success I imagine.

Seems like this is said of every good pitching prospect. Nice velocity, sharp breaking ball, needs to work on the change.
