Open Thread: Comment registration and editing
By
Since the three of us started River Ave. Blues and the site and its community began to grow, we’ve tried to add various elements to the site to make it user-friendly. We started with the straight forwarding commenting form and added threaded comments for RAB’s first birthday. We’ve since branched out to Twitter and Facebook and launched RAB Tickets earlier this year.
This weekend, we soft-launched a new feature: optional commenting registration. For over three and a half years, frequent and infrequent RAB commenters have had to put in their information every time they want to comment, and we’ve depended upon the honor system to keep commenting handles in check. Now, you can register for the site and stay logged in. As a bonus, those who register now have the ability to edit their comments for three minutes after posting.
In terms of details, this is an entirely voluntary feature. You don’t have to register, but you can’t edit your comments unless you do. To register, you need a valid e-mail address. It can be an anonymous one, but you must be able to receive e-mails at this address to complete the registration process. We’re not going to use your e-mail address for any reason other than to communicate with you personally if necessary, and we won’t be harvesting or selling e-mail addresses. To register, click here. Once you’ve registered, you can sign in right here or by clicking the link above the “submit comment” button beneath the commenting box. And please register with your own unique commenting handle and not someone else’s.
For the editing process, just follow the prompts on the screen. We’d prefer that people edit their comments for egregious typos and spelling mistakes, but we realize that some people will try to change what they say. That said, three minutes is a lot shorter than you think. As we fine-tune this system, we’ll look to add more features for registered users only. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via email.
Now, enough of that site administration stuff. Unfortunately, because the Padres lost, we don’t have baseball until Wednesday afternoon. We do have the Dolphins and Patriots squaring off on Monday Night Football. So feel free to use this as your open thread tonight, and I leave with you quite possibly the most amazingly terrible or terribly amazing video around:

This commenting thing is really cool but you really suck Ben lol whatevs
(golf clap)
Fun Fact: I couldn’t register as tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside the Elder, because apparently the “/” character is an illegal one. It allows me to pick it as my screenname, but not my login name.
gogo registered commenting but axisa sucks lolwhatevs.

Got it! Nicely done.
Terribly amazing.
Stats’ o the day:
2010 slugging percentages:
Francisco Cervelli .335
Seattle Mariners: .339
2010 OPSes
Francisco Cervelli .694
Seattle Mariners .637
Ouch.
ahahahahahahahaha
And that sucks for Felix. With league average run support, Felix probably wins 20.
You know the old sabermetric question of “Would a lineup of 9 “Three-True-Outcomes” players beat a lineup of 9 “Scrappy Gritbearders” players?
Well, thank you, Mariners, for attempting to actually compile such a lineup of 9 scrappy gritbearders to test our hypothesis.
Cervelli had the 10th best wOBA among AL catchers with 100 PA. There are 32 catchers who qualify. Cervelli wasn’t as bad offensively as everyone seems to think (for a catcher).
Of course it’s fueled by a lucky stretch where BABIP took pity upon him.
Cervelli has a high BABIP for most of his career. I don’t think it was really a lucky stretch but more it regressing towards his career numbers that are higher.
Yeah, as a 47% ground ball hitter he tends to benefit when the infield is pulled in, or fielders are holding runners on. Go figure.
As we await the 2010 playoffs and what they will bring for the Yankees, time to take a brief look back on their ’09 playoff season.

Yes, I’ve posted that once before, in God knows what open thread. Best montage on Youtube from what I’ve seen. Compact, too. Oh, and look at who they played in the ALDS.
It’ll be fun to beat the Rays or Rangers in the ALCS, but I’m going to miss seeing the MikeScoisciaFace curl up in misery and bewilderment several times a night on nationwide primetime TV.

Money, Power, and Respect: It’s what you need in life
The answer to that question is money.
He made 18 million dollars this year, and is guaranteed $15,250,000 in each of the next four years.

But we had HFA! We obviously would be swept by the superior Twins without it.

That’s a really awesome video.
I like the upgrade to the site. A good compromise for those who wanted editing function and those who opposed mandatory logins.
Nah, f that. This registration farce only further tarnishes the already damaged credibility of this socialist blog.
No more than their continuing refusal to admit that William Howard Taft was the Antichrist.

I had a post ready to go, but with the new edit button I took the socialist initiative and deleted myself from the history books!
The registration thing just makes it easier to detect dissidents of the state. This is the beginning of the end my friends.

FINALLY I UNDERSTAND THAT QUOTE
Woah, what???
Done and done.
Legit concern: Derek Jeter since June 12th has hit one outside of the park home run. One.
It’s a Monday night, so let’s talk about something: Where will FAs go make money this offseason?
Cliff Lee to Yankees: We’ve been after this guy for quite some time. We were in on him at 2009 deadline, the 2009 offseason, the 2010 deadline. You see the pattern, no? He’ll probably make his long awaited pinstripe debut after getting bags of money thrown at him. Contract: 5/110
Jayson Werth to San Francisco: Let’s face it, the Giants have had a bottom half offense since Barry Bonds left town. Their outfield has pretty bad range (They have Pat Burrell and Jose Guillen at the corners. Any ball that gets over their head is a triple or an inside-the-parker.), so Werth would be perfect for them. He provides middle of the order power (which in all likelihood will go down in AT&T) and solid defense from all OF positions (Career UZR/150 at LF, CF, RF: 12.9, 6.9, 10.5). Plus he’s a veteran. The Giants FO loves that shit. Contract: 4/70 with a club option for a fifth year.
Carl Crawford to Anaheim: Pretty much the same situation as San Francisco. The Angels had three DHs play in the OF at random points in 2010. They moved Hunter to RF and put Peter Bourjos, known noodle bat, in CF. This creates a hole in LF. Crawford can step right in and make that outfield so much better. Arte Moreno isn’t afraid to spend money, so Crawford could be playing in LA for the next chunk of his career. He also fits in disgustingly well with Sciosiaface’s patented Angels Baseball. Contract: 5/100
wtf reply fail.
I like the Werth to SF thought. I have no idea if they intend to spend that kind of dough, but it makes sense. He definitely has the ability to drive the ball out of that large ballpark. Even to right-center. The Giants are a weird team… I can never get a read on what they’re going to do on the FA/trade markets.
Also, I wonder if Crawford goes to Boston. They could definitely use a guy like him at the top of their lineup. I’d hit Pedroia and Crawford 1&2 with Ellsbury 9th. Of course they still have Cameron under contract for next year (I believe its guaranteed). Of course Crawford in LF at Fenway significantly negates his defensive value. Fact is, he really would weren’t with the team.
I don’t, however, think he can earn 20 mil/year for any team. Especially if the Yanks are actually out of the running.
Werth seems like a prototypical Giants FA signing in that he’s right on the edge of his decline. Crawford would be a MONSTER in that ballpark.
I bet if the Giants make it deep into the playoffs, ownership will expand payroll. They have about 20M coming off the books, so I think giving Sabean about 40-45M to spend is reasonable.
A sudden drop in power?
OMG HE WAS ON STEROIDS IN THE FIRST HALF!!!!11!!!1
(Yes I’m joking).
Robbie turns 28 on Oct 22nd. Love that #!
So if you register you lose the option to put a URL on your handle?
Nope. I’m registered and have a URL
You can add a website to your handle by editing your preferences. In the top right corner of the window it says “my profile.” should be there.
Gotcha, thanks.
No problem.
No, when you register it generates a profile page for you; there’s a “website” field. Fill your URL in there and it hyperlinks your screenname to that URL.
Ha, suckers. I helped him first.
edited: i’ll celebrate by editing this comment and eating quiznos.
Yea? Well I requested deletion on my response. So there
WE LOVE THESE SUBS!!!!!
So, i’m a Jets fan. Who the bloody hell do I root for tonight? Besides mass chaos?
As a fellow Jets fan, here’s who I’m rooting for:
I don’t give a shit; the winner is still in second place, baby! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Suck it, Pats/Fins/Bills.
I knew I loved you
Yeah, it’s hard not to.
I’m missing the “you suck but lol whatevs” meme.
You mean you don’t get where it’s from?
http://riveraveblues.com/2010/.....nt-1187587
Yeah, well, I was busy this afternoon, chillin with Bernie Williams and all. So yeah.
:: head explodes ::
Bernie is probably saying the same thing about hanging out with you. Don’t sell yourself short. No, I’m probably wrong. Editing is fun.
That was all the more funny/effective because I saw it before you edited it. Well done, vin.
You’re not dead out of sheer fright?
Go for the one hit KO Joe! You were chillin with Andy, right? RIGHT?
I miss half a day and it’s like twelve new memes have started. I feel so out of the loop.
So I started Vick over Brees yesterday and he got me a cool 2 points. I still won though so its all good.
Mike Vick is playing like his character in Madden ’04 but he’s a sociopathic puppy murderer lol whatevs
That video made me laugh wayyyyyy too hard
Doh’Mar Minay’Uh currently has no position within the Met’s organization. How would everyone feel about bringing him aboard as a scout for the Yankees? I think it would be a great idea, as long as the only thing he does is scout, and has no FO power. Get it done Cashmoney!
I wouldn’t touch Minaya with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.
Not even just as a scout? He spearheaded the Juan Gonzalez and Sammy Sosa signings while Texas’s lead scout.
If he has no authority to sign or trade players, just to go to Latin America and find/develop relationships with talented IFA kids and their families, you’d be against that?
I’d be down with that. Take him away from any decision making about the major league team and I’ll likely be for it. He’s reportedly a friend of Cash so lol whatevs.
not quite. try this:
“He’s reportedly a friend of Cash but Girardi’s a dong so lol whatevs.
Dynamite. Still too much punctuation/capitalization, though. You can start with your normal voice, but when you transition into the meme you must stop writing in proper english.
He’s reportedly a friend of Cash but girardis a dong so lol whatevs
Did he also spearhead the PED program in Texas?
yeah, actually.
Shit, if he didn’t, he wasn’t doing his job as an organizational leader.
If everyone is breaking the rules and you’re the only team not doing so in a competitive sport, you’re doing a disservice to your team and your paying fans.
Cheat, damnit, cheat!
He should be a scout and only a scout. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Yankees took him in as an interim scout till he can find another club like what they did with Towers this year.
That video brought back happy memories from this season. It’s too bad we suck at scoring runs now. lol whatevs
Did I do that right?
The format is right. However, I’m not sure if the the positive and negative can be broken down into two separate sentences. I was under the impression they needed to be in a conjucted sentence.
Miranda rules, but Berkman sucks. lol whatevs.
You mean like this?
Javy was a good pitcher from May- July, but overall he sucks. lol whatevs.
I think you’ve got it. However, I’m not sure that statement is ridiculous enough. Perhaps…
Javy was good for a few weeks, but he can’t pitch in NY. lol whatevs.
I’m a purist – I like to keep with the spirit of the “lol whatevs” meme.
Him sucking overall is too close to the truth, unfortunately.
Oh, ok. I think I got it now.
burnett has a good curve but hes a headcase lol whatevs.
P.S. I find this meme hilarious.
That’s still got way too much punctuation and logical sense. Don’t use any punctuation at all and try to make the second part utterly unrelated to the first part (or what anyone was even talking about.)
Like:
That videos awesome but monteros a bust lol whatevs
Now that’s how a pro does it.
Okay. Take 2:
CC has 20 wins but its to bad cuz hes fat lol whatevs
Like that?
Better, but you’re still logically connecting the first part with the second. That detracts from it a little bit.
Let’s go back to the master and see what he did:
What made that so fantastically batshit insane?
Nobody was talking about Posada. Nobody.
It was a complete non-sequitur. Left field, holmes. That’s the pinnacle of authentic frontier gibberish right there.
Amazing.
I am honestly laughing so hard right now.
OK.
Cano’s the mvp, but taft wasnt born in america lol whatevs
AWESOME.
Thanks! I finally got it right. the end is near for jorge lol whatevs
/That guy who back in june said the end was near for Jorge’d.
I need to bring that meme up in my history course, just to see what the professor says/does.

First registered comment, let’s see how this goes…
Swimmingly.
Wait till you edit yourself. It’ll blow your mind.
(As I was typing that, I nearly accidentally transposed edit and blow. Maybe I’ll go with that option within the next 3 minutes. So much freedom here.)
I can think a few other things that would blow my mind than editing!
contrarian’d/truthful’d
Heh, 3 minutes isn’t a huge time frame. It’s perfect. If I fix anything it’ll be a lame typo or spelling error.
(First comment edited, for the sake of editing. No typing error or typo here, just a side note for side note’s sake)
That was awesome.
very true ! I will think about for 3 mins.
I heard about Minaya being let go today… What kind of grade would you all give him for his tenure with the Mets?
C-
Call me crazy but I don’t think he did an average job. 2006 was great but with a high payroll like that I don’t see the many mediocre seasons an average job.
I don’t think Minaya is an idiot though. It’s being in NY and in the Yankees shadow where the presumption is free agents, free agents and free agents. And with the Mets looking for a veteran GM I believe he’ll fail for the same reasons.
The last 2 seasons were overshadowed by the massive amount of injuries. The Mets were pretty good for a while but just collapsed at the wrong times.
I’d give him an A+.
Though my Mets’ grading curve is shifted tremendously due to Vince Coleman throwing a firecracker at fans and Tony Bernazard taking off his shirt and challenging minor leaguers to a fight.
B , He had largely kept the Mets franchise competitive except the last two years where he had been riddled with injuries.
I like the Beltran signing along with Delgado trade. He made the wrong evaluation on Perez but did not have financial wiggle room to recover as oppose to the Yankees. I think he is a good talent evaluator overall.
Well the teams performance under him would merit an F but that’s unfair, because obviously it’s not his fault.
%78.8729910. That’s his grade.
Alright. Let’s see how this thing works.
Cool shit man. Now I’m editing myself. I feel… alive.
So, since this is about commenting, I’ll ask: How do I bolden words or italicize them, or cross them out in that jackass kind of manner?
Anyone?

Edited for code reasons. You broke RAB.

Holy crap, if I registered then I could edit this monstrosity… but I can’t with that damn apostrophe.

hey guyscool site this fun huevos no shitter haveyz no good ny cuz he es loco softeeeee GO YANKS win da 29_# swish sucks lol whatevs es no good hitter average is just walk no steals liek wall street obama goldman and w.h. taft cuz cashmans a fucktard es no drat hellicksonn.
Ahhahahahahahaa A+
though you forgot to mention Granderson being a switch-hitter and MLB.com, BB-Ref, etc., all being wrong
can anyone point me to that original thread?
http://riveraveblues.com/2010/.....ent-786177
Read and enjoy.
heh, the original batshittery:
Am I the only one who feels the Yankee outfield is suspect, very suspect. Swisher had a decent yr last yr but was signed as a versatile spare part not really a top corner outfielder, Granderson hit 50 pts lower than any Yankee starter last yr at 780 ops (except melky) and he only hit 182 righthanded, and the Gardner/Winn dynamic duo will need a pinch hitter late in games. Cashman will be trading for of help by or before the allstar break, you can count on it.
Only MLB outfield where all three players had 4+ WAR, I believe, mothafuckaaaaz.
Swisher had a decent yr last yr but was signed as a versatile spare part not really a top corner outfielder,
Yes, pistol pete, because clearly how some other team used you and priced you when you were made available or acquired is exactly what you will always be.
The Falcons traded Matt Schaub to the Texans because he was their backup to Michael Vick. The Texans expecting Schaub to ever be anything more than a backup is ridiculous, especially since Schaub isn’t even a switch-hitter.
I was involved in that asshattery too, haha. My early work is in there. :p
haha “hangoverologist”. I feel like you’re still a wee bit young for excessive drinking, for safety reasons
The fact that pistol pete was so persistent about Curtis being a switch hitter amuses me. People present him with links and evidence and nothing, he did not change his mind. I’m still questioning where he got those numbers he spit out there.
you forgot the part where kevin cash is better than arod. jeter sucks lol whatevs
Did that fix it?
guess not.
Now it’s fixed.
Ok. I think that’s fixed now.
This will confirm that it’s fixed.
See that, Ben?
This is why you can’t give us nice things.
I was just about to say the same thing! The “Request Deletion” feature has already been disabled
Are you good with your user name or do I need to reply to the email you sent?
I registered for one, then changed the email addy attached to that one and registered for a second.
You can delete the one I emailed to you; it’s attached to a sixtyeightgames.com email address.
Looks like.
I think so.
Maybe the Patriots should trade for Vincent Jackson so they can move Randy Moss to cornerback.
I posted this before but it looks like it got lost in the chaos: Just reading that Johnny Damon will definitely not be re-signed by Detroit. Do you think we’ll try to pick him up cheap for a one-year deal?
Here is my take on it. He had a bad season, he’s getting older, and he has no real position on the Yanks. No thanks.
LOL. Good call.
Color me disinterested.
I’m not sure I’d advocate signing him one way or another, but I wonder if we’ll try for another full-time DH a la Nick Johnson (which obviously means we could sign someone else but you’d have to at least consider Damon) or go with a rotating DH to rest all the oldies.
I’m on the “Ty Wigginton for DH and ARod’s backup” bangwagon.
I’m thinking you’ll see Jorge get the bulk of the DH time with Montero catching and Cervelli as the back-up. I don’t think it’ll hamstring roster flexibility as much as it sounds initially.
Agreed. It’s okay to carry three catchers if two of them hit well enough to be legit DH bats.
I was wondering if Montero’s inevitable rise would mean bye-bye to Franco, but I can see them going with that arrangement.
If they got rid of Cervelli and didn’t replace him it would leave no emergency plan. Say Posada was catching with Montero at DH and Posada got hurt midgame you would risk losing the DH by having to move Montero to catcher. You would have to have a backup DH on the roster.
Also, it is unlikely Montero would start the season in the bigs. So if they were desperate to get rid of Frankie they would need to sign or trade for a catcher and/or sign a DH. Keeping Frankie at backup until Montero is called up is probably the best choice finacially. The real question is if they keep Berkman as a DH because once Montero arrive they wont need one.
OK, now that we’re back I’ll ask this again.
Who’s the next Mets manager and GM?
I would have said Buck Showalter two months ago, but now, I’d bet either Wally Backman or Joe Torre for manager. If not, they’ll go with a safe/boring candidate. GM is such a toss-up. Who knows.
If Joe Torre manages the Mets next year, I will never stop laughing.
RIP Bobby Parnell’s arm
I guess they have to hire the GM first, and if you’re going to bring in a GM you really should let him pick his manager. That said, I’ll guess they go internal with someone like Rico and hire Backman.
I think they bring Torre in for a ceremonial “get a moderately sized paycheck and snazzy, important-sounding title and hire someone else to do all the heavy lifting and decisionmaking” position.
“Executive Senior Vice President of Non-Bullpen Baseball-Related Operations”
That’s a huge pay cut for the same work if you ask me. What makes you think Torre did any work as manager?
Taking a huge paycut from 7M to 1-3M to have a job where you don’t do anything and don’t have any actual expectations to do anything >>>>>>>> taking a total paycut from 7M to 0M to sit on your couch doing nothing
Zero? You don’t think he could get a big advance for “The Dodger Years”?
Who would buy a book about three years of Dodger baseball (that included zero championships)?
Nobody.
Only if he was sleeping with Jamie McCourt.
BTW-Buck would have been the smart choice and the Mets haven’t done anything smart in years. Lots of whispers that Jeff Wilpon has no idea what he’s doing, and worse insists on having input/final say on all decisions.
Jerry DiPoto and Wally Backman.
Joe Torre and Joe Torre.
If they’re going to spend 4-5 mil a year, they should get someone who suits their young, rebuilding team and hire Valentine. Bobby would excite Mets fans, Torre doesn’t.
Bobby V and Steve Phillips.
The Mets are like the Nets.
Nobody wants that job now; they’ll be much more interesting a few years from now when they shed their dead weight (or move to Brooklyn).
I bet Valentine turns them down, waits for Backman to take the job and then get fired 2/3 years from now and throws his name back in the hat once Beltran/Castillo/Perez/etc. are gone and Santana/Bay/Reyes/Wright are easier to move (or already gone).
On a more serious note, I think the Mets will hire (or at least go after) Larry Bowa and Gerry Hunsicker (Rays VP).
Just testing out the new registration. And Mike, when will we be getting the final e-mail for the Granderson charity thing?
Edit: oooohhh it has a countdown. Fancy
Great question. Also, can we pay via PayPal or do we mail a check?
Thinkin PayPal lol
After the playoffs. I’ll email everyone individually, don’t worry.
Oh snap registration. Cool beans.
Awesome stuff guys!
(Editing just for kicks)
Damn it Brady I need points from Hernandez and Welker. DON’T GIVE IT TO MOSS THOUGH.
Use your fucking arm Brady kthx.
Hey, what was up with that random troll impersonator you had stalking you earlier today?
Ah that was a classmate. My school gives out laptops and my friend saw me lurk on RAB instead of paying attention so he decided to troll for one post.
So I was at the Giants game last night. That stadium is ridiculous.
In a good way or a bad way?
Good.
I was at the Jets home opener a few weeks ago. The stadium certainly is big.
I sometimes wonder if Tom Brady regrets signing an extension with a franchise that seems not to understand the value of a running game to mute a passrush.
When did Bill Belichick become Mike Martz?
They actually run the ball ok, just by committee.
2009: 12th in league in yards, 10th in attempts
2008: 6th in yadrs, 4th in attempts
2007: 13th in yards, 10th in attempts
2006: 12th in yards, 6th in attempts
I have such mixed emotions about that video.

Wahh squared! WordPress says my user name is registered but no email. I’ve done the “lost password” twice. Still no email!
It’s a valid email address but . . .
I’m lost in the void . . . .

WordPress just won’t send me a password for for the email I associated with Betty Lizard. It’s not blocked by my spam but I did have a similar issue once with a company email being undeliverable to that address.
I registered under another user name (Digital Liz) with a different email server and got immediate confirmation. Go figure.
If you want the Betty Lizard login/info, send me an email with all the pertinent information and I can manually generate a password for you.
Take the hint.
Buuuuuurn.
We’re just not that into you.

Brandon Meriweather is actually playing well tonight. This doesn’t happen often.
Relative to the rest of your secondary, he’s like Ronnie Lott in his prime.
#backhandedcompliment
While driving to class, Michael Kay was discussing whether or not the Mets would turn down a GM’s idea of trading David Wright. My first thought was “Well, isn’t Wright one of the only good things in that organization? Why would they hire a guy who planned to move him (barring some crazy ridiculous package he could get, which he may not)? He’s easily the team’s best player and can only help going forward.”
What if they could get Jed Lowrie for him?
It’ll take more than David Wright to get a talent like Jed Lowrie.
Jed Lowrie hits like Adrian Gonzalez and can play 3B like Brooks Robinson, SS like Ozzie Smith, and 2B like Roberto Alomar. He’s only played 16 innings at 1B, but I can assure you they were Keith Hernandez’esque innings.
Anyone know how to write text, but with a link in it?
See the bracket’s TSJC put above (I can’t do the HTML for that, sorry) and put URL instead of like b for bold.
Okay thanks.
I only need ~54 points from BenJarvus Green-Ellis.
In fantasy football, of course.
Chad Henne is not ready for prime time.
Yeah, and you have to be REALLY BAD to look bad against the Pats D.

Anybody interested in bringing aboard Chris Young (SP) from the Padres as a possible innings eater next year? (Thanks to Mike’s article on MLBTR)

Letting an English major (that’s what you are right? correct me if I’m wrong.) edit comments: WORST IDEA EVER
Yeah, haha. I’m studying for a Master’s in Secondary Education with a concentration in English.
For the record, it would be the BEST idea ever, as it would make people sound so much smarter than they truly are.
I luv arodz and hes gunna kick azz in the playoofs and matt editting my comints is crazy bulshit yo lol whatevs
For the best grammar-fail comments, go read the TYU comments by user “bornwithpinstripes.” They’re absolutely fascinating.
Eh. He’s pitched 96 innings in the last two years. MiL deal? Sure. Anything guaranteed? Not so much.
I’d rather give Chris Young the outfielder a try at being our 5th starter. At least he offers position player value after he bombs out on the mound.
Extreme flyball RHP in a park with a short RF porch?
No thanks.
Just saw Harold Reynolds say he has a feeling AJ Burnett will pitch Game 2 or 3 in the ALDS and called him the key to the series.
I nominate this as the comment of the year.
So funny, can’t even get over it. (No offense to the commenter).
It’s got everything: stupidity, randomness, gibberish, horrible rape jokes, lack of knowledge of the basics of the English language, non-sequiturs, internet abbreviations, and tons of meme potential.
It’s hard to top Rose’s Taft rant, though. That not only birthed a meme, it spawned “The Rose Rule”.
Like I said above, I’m going to bring up that Taft thing in my next history class. I’m hoping for some serious lolage by the professor.
Rose was an odd, easily excitable, manic depressive, possibly schizophrenic, bomb throwing troll.
I did not enjoy the Rose era, particularly the desire to have political discussions on a baseball blog.
Oh yeah! How could I forget that one?
Okay. Rose rant #1, lol whatevs #2
I miss Rose’s posts. Should start a petition to get him back aboard.
I also miss trying to figure out why his name was Rose.
Used to post under the name “Axl.”
He was a GNR fan. He was originally Axl.

lol i wish i could pay to have your photo posting capabilities…
He was entertaining. That is one of the main things the internet and this place is all about.
Let him back on Kabak!
Wait, Ben, did you guys ban him? Is that why he doesn’t post anymore, or does he just choose not to?
We banned him. I think that was the third time we had to ban him. Reinstating him is perennial under discussion between me, Joe and Mike, but he really pushed the wrong buttons last time.
I think that was the third time we had to ban him
Not gonna lie, that’s pretty funny.
What did he do the last time to step out of line?
I think Tommie linked the comments in question. In short: way too much politics talk in an inappropriate forum.
Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation of his name also.
Tommie, I must say, after reading that thread again, watching you contradict, prove wrong, and pretty much own nutjobs, such as Rose, is very pleasing. I thank you for that.
Watching WS Game 6, and LOL at Chan Ho Park coming in in a meaningful game for the Phillies.
Remixed John Sterling > real John Sterling
michelle tafoya in HD =/= ideal….
From Robbie’s wiki page:
“It should also be noted that Cano is the absolute coolest player in the league, possibly in Major League Baseball. such a stud. He had better be named AL MVP”
Wikipedia is always right.
Wait does it actually say that? LOL
Haha, wow it does.

Step one: Cut a hole in the box.

Step two: Put your junk in that box.
Zomgz first registered comment for me!
Edit: Forgot the “new meme”: Granderson worst trade evar lol whatevs
(amidoinitrite?)
Not quite. It actually goes like this:
Alex had a subpar season but Swisher sucks lol whatevs
Cervelli on steroids. I want to see it, because I think it would be hilarious.
I had a huge lead coming into tonight’s game. Of course my opponent has the Pats D/ST. Shit.
“We’d prefer that people edit their comments for egregious typos and spelling mistakes…”
Can you guys find some college kid to copy-edit your posts for $0.05/hr or something? I know you probably hear it enough, but not coming across the various typos that the three authors leave would increase the quality of the site way, way disproportional to the effort required to do so.
Please don’t construe this as mean-spirited in any way. I know this isn’t any of the author’s full-time job. It just appears to be low-hanging product enhancement fruit.
I hope I do well on my tests tomorrow but finance sucks lol whatevs
Testing out the new login commenting system – glad to see the site keep improving!
works! yay
