Rosenthal: Talks about Keppinger went nowhere
ByVia Ken Rosenthal, trade talks between the Yankees and Astros about infielder Jeff Keppinger went “nowhere.” I assume that means the Yankees have moved on after showing interest in him earlier this offseason. Keppinger would have been a real nice fit because he hits lefties and can play all over the infield, but oh well. There’s other fish in the utility infielder sea. No need to overpay for one in a trade.

He was a good fit and the Astros didn’t want to play him or pay him — what could they possibly have asked for? This seems like it should have been a gimme for Cashman. In past years I would have thought this was a sign that Cashman is aiming higher but nothing he’s done since Lee would suggest any urgency to upgrade until June/July.
Keppinger’s a utility infielder that won’t play all that often because of the starters the team has. No reason to be aggressive here. Let the Astros keep him until they’re desperate to move his salary.
I’d only want Keppinger if he agreed to use The Ultimate Warrior’s entrance music for each at-bat while running to the plate.
Report: Talks for all Yankee 2010 off-season targets went “nowhere”
Yea pretty much lol
Willy Aybar FTW
Cashman is doing a great job. We dont need to panic. I mean, we have Pena, Nunez, Colin Curtis, Greg Golson and Kevin Russo on the bench as it stands now. Everything is fine……..wait, whaaaaaaaat
no need to sign one at all, right now.
Bring in Jerry Hairston Jr.
I like how some of you just want the Yankees to do something. It’s like the kid who can’t go by the toy store and not get something. Even if it’s a bad trade. You have no clue what they wanted. That’s why fans could never run a club.
Bah, I would’ve really liked him. Oh well
I vote for the Brothers Hairston
