First of all, make sure you scroll down for tonight’s game thread. Secondly, Manny Banuelos‘ blister is healed and the lil’ lefty is on track to start Tuesday. No word on Dellin Betances‘ blister though.
Triple-A Scranton (6-3 loss to Rochester)
Greg Golson, DH: 0 for 4 – remember that hot starts? he’s now one for his last 17 (.059)
Ramiro Pena, SS & Brandon Laird, 3B: both 0 for 3 – Pena walked and struck out twice … Laird has just four hits in 34 at-bats this year (.118)
Jesus Montero, C: 0 for 4, 1 K – easily his worst game of the season … almost forgot to throw to first on a strike three in the dirt
Jorge Vazquez, 1B: 1 for 4, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K – 13-for-36 (.333) with six homers during his ten game hitting streak
Chris Dickerson, LF: 0 for 3, 1 K, 1 HBP
Jordan Parraz, RF: 1 for 4, 1 R, 1 3B – threw a runner out at the plate … he’s had at least one hit in every game he’s played so far
Justin Maxwell, CF: 2 for 3, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K – six for ten with two doubles and homer after his slow start
Kevin Russo, 2B: 0 for 2, 1 K, 1 HBP – poor guy has just three hits and that hit-by-pitch in 35 trips to the plate (.114 OBP)
D.J. Mitchell, RHP: 4.2 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, 1 WP, 6-4 GB/FB – 51 of 93 pitches were strikes (54.8%) … the AAA rotation certainly hasn’t lived up to the hype so far, but then again they haven’t even made two full turns through the rotation
George Kontos, RHP: 2.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 2-2 GB/FB – 14 of 23 pitches were strikes (60.9%)

Double-A Trenton Game One (8-0 win over Harrisburg in seven innings) makeup of yesterday’s rain out
Austin Krum, LF: 2 for 4, 2 R, 1 2B, 3 RBI – multiple hits in four of his last eleven games, no hits in six others
Jose Pirela, SS: 3 for 4, 2 R, 1 SB – had been one for his last 19 (.053)
Austin Romine, C: 1 for 3, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K – six walks and just four strikeouts in his eight games so far
Bradley Suttle, 3B: 1 for 4, 1 3B, 3 RBI, 1 K
Cody Johnson, DH: 0 for 4, 2 K
Melky Mesa, CF: 0 for 3
Corban Joseph, 2B: 2 for 3, 1 R
Myron Leslie, 1B: 1 for 3, 1 R
Ray Kruml, RF: 3 for 3, 1 R, 2 2B – six for his last 11 (54.5%)
Kevin Millwood, RHP: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, 10-5 GB/FB – 53 of 88 pitches were strikes (60.2%) … apparently he was sitting 87-88 with the heat … like I said earlier, more walks than strikeouts against Double-A kids says a whole lot more than the one hit over seven innings
Double-A Trenton Game Two (8-2 loss to Harrisburg in seven innings)
Cody Johnson, DH, Jack Rye, 1B & Addison Maruszak, C: all 1 for 3 – Johnson whiffed twice … Rye scored a run, struck out, and committed a fielding error … Maruszak doubled in a run and scored another in a rare start behind the plate
Everyone Else: combined 0 for 16, 1 BB, 8 K, 1 HBP – Austin Krum drew the walk, Corban Joseph got plunked … Melky Mesa struck out in all three trips to the plate … Ray Kruml stole a base
Craig Heyer, RHP: 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 10-3 GB/FB – 44 of 64 pitches were strikes (68.8%) … he was 89-90 with the fastball, at least early on … 23-7 GB/FB ratio so far
Pat Venditte, SHB: 1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1-0 GB/FB – blech
Fernando Hernandez, RHP: 1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 0-1 GB/FB
High-A Tampa (11-3 win over Brevard County)
Abe Almonte, CF: 3 for 4, 3 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 BB, 1 SB – would have been tough to get that homer to complete the cycle, he only has 25 in a six-year career
Walt Ibarra, 2B: 1 for 1, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 SB – not one, but two sac bunts
Rob Lyerly, 3B: 2 for 5, 2 R, 1 3B, 4 RBI, 2 K – 16 for his last 44 (.365) with two doubles, two triples, and two homers
Luke Murton, 1B: 3 for 5, 2 R, 2 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 K – Matt’s brother with the huge games
Taylor Grote, RF: 0 for 4, 1 K, 1 HBP
Zoilo Almonte, RF: 2 for 4, 2 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K – seven for his last 19 (.368) with two doubles, two homers, and a triple
Kyle Higashioka, C: 1 for 5, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Brett Marshall, RHP: 5 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 6-5 GB/FB – he’s probably on some sort of pitch count since he’s but cut off at exactly five innings in the last two starts and several times last season … he did come back from Tommy John surgery a little early, it makes sense
Mike Solbach, RHP: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 2-4 GB/FB
Ryan Flannery, RHP: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 2-0 GB/FB
Low-A Charleston (6-1 loss to Rome)
Slade Heathcott, CF: 1 for 3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K – got picked off first … back-to-back days with a walk … progress!
Anderson Feliz, 2B: 1 for 4, 2 K, 1 E (fielding)
Ramon Flores, 1B: 1 for 3, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K – ho hum
