The Yankees have seen quite a bit of Vin Mazzaro in his brief big league career. He’s made three career starts against them (with the A’s, of course), only once completing five innings while pitching to a 9.69 ERA with nearly as many walks (ten) as strikeouts (12) in 13 innings. Yankee batters have tagged him for a .379/.486/.690 batting line in 70 plate appearances. Hey Mike, after reading that Posada piece earlier today I just wanted to remind you of your snark earlier this year.
I voiced the concern that some people had over Posada being an effective DH. You wrote it off and at one point sarcastically said “Yeah guys, I’m real worried about Jorge” after he hit a homer.

Another game that the Yankees have completely dominated, yet have not even come close to putting away the opposing team.
One swing of the bat was all it took last inning to erase half of this lead, and every out off of Burnett was to the warning track.
It’s embarrassing to not cash in on these kinds of opportunities. 1 for 8 with RISP in just 3 innings of the game. Either every hitter is hot at once or they all go ice cold at the same time. It’s unbelievable how streaky this team can be.
