Jorge Vazquez, Kevin Whelan, and Jesus Montero will represent Triple-A Scranton on the International League All-Star Team. Montero was named to the team, the other two guys (who are currently on the disabled list) were voted on.

Triple-A Scranton (7-3 loss to Norfolk)

Adam Warren, RHP: 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 HB, 6-4 GB/FB – 58 of 94 pitches were strikes (61.7%) … first clunker in a while, and this really isn’t that bad anyway
Andrew Brackman, RHP: 2 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 2 WP, 1 HB – 25 of 41 pitches were strikes (61%) … typical Brackman, but at least he hit 93

Rob Lyerly, 1B: 0 for 3, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Damon Sublett, LF: 0 for 4, 1 K
Yadil Mujica, SS: 1 for 4, 1 E (throwing)
Steve Garrison, LHP: 5 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 WP, 10-1 GB/FB – ugly night, but hooray for grounders

Alan Horne, RHP: 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K – so I guess he’s closing now … I wonder how quickly he warms up and if they can use him on back-to-back days

High-A Tampa was rained out. They’re going to play two tomorrow.

Low-A Charleston (5-1 loss to Augusta)
Jose Toussen, LF: 1 for 3, 1 BB, 1 K
Anderson Feliz, 2B: 1 for 3, 1 R

Ravel Santana, CF: 1 for 6, 1 R, 2 K, 1 SB – he left the game after striking out in the eighth, but I’m not sure way … he wasn’t ejected according to the box score

That’s what I like to see from Jesus!

  2. JobaWockeeZ says:

Have all of Montero’s homers came from being a DH?

  3. Pat D says:

So changing the guy’s name to “Dan” are we?

  4. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

Dan Bichette Jr? When did that start?

  5. Nick says:

Tommy John made 3 errors on one play back in 1987 against the Brewers.

  6. CMP says:

At least Brackman had some velocity and missed some bats. If only he could improve his control.

  7. Steve H says:

Yeicock did not get up today.

  8. Stratman9652 says:

    2IP, 1 BB, 5 K!!!, 2 WP, 1 HBP for Brackman? That’s so crazy it bears repeating.

    • CP says:

He missed a lot if stuff today. The strikezone (1BB), bats (5K), and the catcher (2 WP). About the only thing he hit was that one batter.

    • TheEvilUmpire says:

He thinks he’s auditioning for the next Major League movie.

  9. Guest says:

    Spectacular title.

Way to be Jesus. Crush the ball and give them no choice but to call you up.

    • MikeD says:

That is the way up. If he starts hitting like he did the second half of last year, he’ll be in the Bronx in no time. Jesus has his own future in his hands. Time for him to step up and take it.

  10. Will (the other one) says:

As an unabashed (and generally unrealistic) Alan Horne fan, I’m still holding out hope for him to achieve some level of baseball success. If that’s as a reliever, so be it.

    • CMP says:

Absolutely. You gotta root for guys like Horne, Kontos and Christian Garcia to at least get a cup of coffee in the bigs.

  11. Jake H says:

I wonder where Tyler Austin is thou. Guy is killing the ball. Let that guy hit!

  12. Brian says:

If Brandon Binder can make it to the big leagues than Joe Girardi will be the happiest man alive.

  13. Cy Pettitte says:

have there been any updates on Norton? will he ever pitch again?

  14. BigTimeBartolo says:

Gary Sanchez’s defense has been soooooo bad this year.

Also, Claudio Custodio is awesome, he’s moving up fast in my book

  15. infernoscurse says:

    yeiiiiiicock

  16. MikeD says:

Is that what we’re reduced to now? How many hard-hit balls from Montero? : -)

  17. DC says:

Brackman is a bust. include him in any trade the yankees make

    • Dave says:

I guess you never heard of “sell high and buy low”. Right now Brackman has little value so you hold on to him and try to fix him.

      • Simon B. says:

Honestly, I just don’t think he should draw a MLB salary. Trade him or release him. Guy’s not a bust as much as he’s never been close to qualified to have been anything.

        BUT HE’S TALL

  18. e says:

Time to start calling Brackman a bust unironically?

  19. The BIG 3 says:

That title ought to be bronzed. A classic!

  20. Jd says:

Patience. He was a BA top 100 player. His mechanics are screwy. May take a couple of years. Play out the string.
