Game 105: Nova’s Back

(AP Photo/Bill Kostroun)

The Yankees already have one win to their credit today, and now they’re welcoming Ivan Nova back to the rotation for the night cap. Joe Girardi indicated earlier this week that Nova could be up for more than just the spot start, though a trade is always possible as well. The Rockies have a scout in the stands tonight as the Ubaldo Jimenez talks go down to the wire. Either way, Nova’s job is to help the Yankees win tonight. Here’s the starting nine…

Derek Jeter, SS
Curtis Granderson, CF
Mark Teixeira, 1B
Robinson Cano, 2B
Nick Swisher, DH
Andruw Jones, RF
Russell Martin, C
Eduardo Nunez, 3B
Brett Gardner, LF

Ivan Nova, SP

The game starts a little after 7pm ET and can be seen on YES locally and MLB Network nationally. Enjoy.

Roster Move: To make room for Nova on the roster, the Yankees have sent Chris Dickerson back to Triple-A. He won’t be able to come back up for ten days, but I imagine the Yanks will just call up Greg Golson tomorrow. Either that or they’ll roll with a 13-man pitching staff for a week and a half (no thanks).

Orioles Trade: The Yankees haven’t made a trade yet, but Baltimore has. Between games they dealt super(setup)man Koji Uehara to the Rangers for the hacktastic Chris Davis and the festively plump Tommy Hunter. So no Koji tonight if the game is close in the late innings. Good news for the Yankees, and I think that’s a pretty nice trade for both teams.

  1. Jack Merridew says:

Nova’s pitching tonight for one last hurrah in the stadium. By this time tomorrow he will likely be a Rockie. As our 4th best starter this season he never should have been sent down and now he will be traded away. Last game in pinstripes means CGSO for Ivan Nova.

    • Steve (different one) says:

not for nothing, but didn’t the yankees HAVE to use july to evaluate what they had in Hughes? seems like a weak complaint. if you don’t know where Hughes is at, how do you evaluate your need at the deadline?

  2. A-Rod's Wingman says:

Any word if the Yankees have a scout in Colorado tonight?

  3. A-Rod's Wingman says:

    Errr…San Diego.

  4. Phife Dawg says:

Kuroda isn’t waiving his NTC. Look like Cash is going to have to go all in for Ubaldo.

  5. Pat D says:

Seems like the Rangers essentially gave up on Davis and Hunter, no? Not saying that was a bad thing, but just that they didn’t have spots for them anymore.

Also, with Kuroda saying he ain’t departing (/Templeton’d), what chances do you all think the Yankees cave and do the deal for Jimenez? I say 60% right now.

    • Phife Dawg says:

I might even say 75% Cashman pulls the trigger for Ubaldo, now with Kuroda off the market and Boston, Indians, and the Reds clamoring his service. I just hope he doesn’t panic and rush things or do anything stupid.

    • RIP Irabu says:

Theres always the bungarner route and just call up manny for the playoffs

    • Brooklyn Ed says:

maybe Cashman will pull off a ninja move for Danks?

    • Jack Merridew says:

Nova’s getting squeezed. Induce a groundball and get out of the jam. Do the damage control that AJ and Hughes are unable to do and you will stay in the rotation.

  6. Brooklyn Ed says:

TroyRenck: Ubaldo is in clubhouse. Still pitching :)

  7. Brandon says:

All you guys stressing that Nova is leaving. Stop. You really think the Yankees are going to package even one of Montero, Betances and Banuelos for a pitcher who has slammed back down to earth since the 1st half of the 2010 season? Come on people, dont be like the Rockies. Use your brains!

    • YankeesJunkie says:

Considering the K/9 and BB/9 rate have not changed from last year and his FIP improving every month this season has crashed down to earth for a pitcher that will still accumulate 4 fWAR season. Heck, how is even still on the Rockies.

  8. A.D. says:

Interested on people’s thoughts, would you want to do Dellin, Montero & Nova for Ubaldo?

    • Mike Axisa says:

I get the feeling that they can get him for less. The Rockies already dropped their price once (that we know of), there’s still another 21 hours to make them drop it even more.

      • A.D. says:

Agreed, I mean the fact he’s available at all makes it seem they’re inclined to move him more that teams are will to blow the farm

      • CP says:

They dropped it to that (Dellin, Montero & Nova), right?

If they’re already there, then it will certainly come down more. Likely swap a Warren or someone similar for Betances or Nova.

    • Brandon says:

Nope. The asking price was the galaxy with Banuelos. Without him, its the earth and the moon and some stars.

I wish people can stop going by a half a season, especially when its not the season we are in…

      • Mike Axisa says:

I wish I people would stop acting like he’s got a 6.00 ERA aside from the first half of last year.

        • A.D. says:

He’s been pretty good since 2008

        • IRF says:

          Last 365 days

          32 GS, 202.1 IP, 204 K, 81 BB, 13 HR, 3.83 ERA

          • Betty Humpter says:

            Sign me the fuck up.

            • IRF says:

Yeah, me too. The walks are higher than I’d like, but how many guys can strike out a batter an inning?

If thats the guy he is for the next 3 years, thats terrific. Very 2008- AJish. (And I mean that in a good way.)

          • Brandon says:

Since June 23rd of last season, 242.1 IP 115 ER 4.27 ERA

From June 23rd to the end of last season, he had a 4.34 ERA. So far this season, he has a 4.2 ERA.

Not saying he cant be better, just saying a half a season should not blind peoples opinions. In reality though, it was 2 months. He ended May 2010 with a .78 ERA. He ended June with a 1.83 ERA.

    • YankeesJunkie says:

Probably, but if the Yanks can lower the price on Montero or Dellin it will make it that much easier.

  9. joe says:

is it just me or is YES using a different camera angle from behind the pitcher?

  10. Justin says:

    Nova throwing hard, 96

  11. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

I really wish Kenny could pbp every game…

  12. Mike Axisa says:

Surprise surprise, Ivan Nova still can’t miss a bat.

    • YankeesJunkie says:

He is an invaluable asset that the Yankees should not trade for Ubaldo who has pitched like shit for the last decade!

    • Mojo says:

. . . And you’d rather have Hughes? I’m confused. Seems to me that SuperNova would be the lesser of two evils.

  13. King George says:

@TroyRenck: Rox in serious talks w Indians. Hearing would center around pomeranz Alex white and kipnis
    8 minutes ago

  14. nick says:

Jesus mad, RBI line-drive single in Rochester :-P

  15. nick says:

    Gardner is so effin good

  16. teddy says:

    thank you gardner

  17. Jetrer says:

    thank grit for that

  18. Jack Merridew says:

Good job by Nova there with the damage control. He was getting squeezed but induced the flyball to his best defender. Nice work.

  19. A-Rod's Wingman says:

Yeah I won’t miss this guy.

  20. Brandon says:

I should probably say that I would take Jimenez. Just not for Montero, Betances or Banuelos. Id do anyone else though.

  21. Monteroisdinero says:

    Wieters looking worse than Montero!!

  22. King George says:

Ubaldo to Cleveland. About to get scratched from his start.

    • A.D. says:

Indians scratched Pomeranz and White today, and given Nova is pitching right now seems they aren’t that close

    • Sarah says:

    • Jack Merridew says:

And that’s the risk you run when you walk away and say we aren’t dealing any of our best prospects. If Cashman doesn’t get us another starter he might as well resign.

    • YankeesJunkie says:

Yankees missed out IMO, but the trade deadline does not end till 4 pm tomorrow. Montero better be up on August 1 though.

  23. Betty Humpter says:

I’m just saying, if you’re going to throw Nova in a possible trade for Ubaldo, you’d better get a bucket of balls back in the deal. Didn’t you see his ability to get hard line outs?

  24. Monteroisdinero says:

Swish with the Baltimore chopper and doesn’t pull a hammy.

  25. Mike Axisa says:

I thought Buck Showalter’s magic powers prevented such errors?

  26. Mike Axisa says:

    Andruw Jones is pretty awesome.

  27. Cy Pettitte says:

RT @SI_JonHeyman: ubaldo was scratched. looks like a deal. #rockies, #indians

  29. Steve (different one) says:

well this game is going swimmingly…

  30. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

    Cashman “infuriated” the Rox…

  31. Jack Merridew says:

Plenty of runs for Nova who just wins ballgames. If spotted a 12 run lead I doubt Nova will struggle to get through the 5th inning as was the case with another Yankee starter on this homestand.

    • Jetrer says:

Hughes had a horrible start that day. His career is obviously over. Nova will always be much better than Hughes.
/sarcasm (in case you could not tell)

  32. King George says:

How sad. Yanks really blew it. Well done, Cashman. Regardless if you believe the rumors or not, he could have at least been willing to let some prospects go. But, he was stubborn just like he was with Arizona and it bites him in the ass again. If you really think the Yankees will win the World Series with this rotation, then I want your potion. Sorry to go on a mini-rant here, but Cashman has fucking failed regardless of if you wanted Ubaldo specifically or not. He hasn’t done shit for the team as of now. Granted, there’s another 20 hours left until the deadline, but my confidence isn’t sky high…

    • Wil Nieves Number 1 Fan says:

Am I the only one here who actually prefers keeping Montero and Betances and/or Banuelos?

    • Sweet Dick Willie says:

He hasn’t done shit for the team as of now.

If assembling the team with the 3rd best record in MLB qualifies as “hasn’t done shit”, well then I guess you’re right.

      • Wooderson says:

just because they (probably) wont win this year doesnt mean theyre not (much) better set up for the future. fuck nova though.

  33. JM says:

The Indians are ruining EVERYTHING! At least the Yankees are pwnzerizing.

  34. V says:

    “Joelsherman1 Joel Sherman
#Yankees took all #Rockies wanted off table – Banuelos, Betances, Montero, Nova – and offered Hughes and others. #Rockies infuriated

#Yankees were trying to sell their trouble RH Hughes plus for #Rockies troubled RH, but Rox don’t see Ubaldo as troubled at all”

If this is true, Cashman is fucking insane. Nova was off the table? For realz? For fucking Ubaldo? What???

If this is true, fire the asshole and replace him with an adult who can conduct business like a sane adult.

  35. mbonzo says:

This deal the Indians are sending the Rockies is not even close to Montero+Betances+Novas imo. 3 mid 100 prospects are different than 1 major league proven starter, top 5 and top 40.

    • V says:

Nova is not a ‘major league proven starter’. He’s Jeff Karstens.

Montero is better than anything in the Indians deal, but Pomeranz = Betances (very close in prospect ratings, and Pomeranz = lefty). White is a top 50. If Kipnis is in the deal, excellent for Rockies (they need 2B AND 3B), if not, it’s an ok haul, but Yanks could have beaten it.

  36. iloveyoubartolo says:

    Poor kid.

  37. Cy Pettitte says:

    heyoooooooooo gardy

  38. YankeesJunkie says:

For those that thought Hughes was a comparable replacement for a prospect from MLBTR.

The Yankees infuriated the Rockies by taking their top prospects off of the table and offering Phil Hughes and others instead, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post (on Twitter).

  39. Mojo says:

Oh boy . . . Jeter with the bases loaded? Hmmm

  40. Wooderson says:

lol if jeter GIDPs here and makes all three outs in the inning

  41. Cy Pettitte says:

Cap’n! this inning is fucking awesome.

  42. Brooklyn Ed says:

    John Danks, come on down???

  43. Johnny Nitro says:

Kiss our collective asses, Buck. Fuck you.

  44. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

    I guess it’s offical…:(

  45. A.D. says:

No Haren last year and no Ubaldo this year is dissappointing

  46. A.D. says:

No Haren last year and no Ubaldo this year is disappointing

  47. JM says:

I am legitimately frustrated at Cashman for this one. To negotiate is one thing, but you have to be realistic. Cash better have something up his sleeve…

    • King George says:

      Probably not.

    • Adam says:

Will probably be similar to last year, someone smaller parts after before the waiver deadline.

    • Pasqua says:

But you have no concept of what really went down. Just because we hear “this and that” does not mean that A) it’s accurate; or, B) that there aren’t more factors outside of what is being reported. If there is one thing that Cashman has shown in his years here it’s that he makes prudent moves; rarely, if ever, does he overpay. He gets what he wants for what he wants to give. Doesn’t mean everything works out in the end, but, man, give the dude some credit for his approach.

  48. karel capek says:

Fantastic, we get the return of the two man all star team of Singleton and Con….wait O’Neil? That man does not look like Buster Keaton! David Cone does! The Yankees are winning by a lot! Trade stuff! Trade David Byrne for a pillar of salt!

  49. Mojo says:

I really didn’t notice it all that much until I read an article about it, but damn, Granderson DOES strike out an awful lot

  50. Cy Pettitte says:

this is probably one of the best double headers ever.

  51. Jack Merridew says:

If Ivan Nova is so untouchable then why is he banished to AAA and Hughes is the one Cashman wanted to dump? Even if Nova shuts these guys out today he’s still going back to AAA which is ridiculous. Cashman cost us a trip to the WS last year and hasn’t done shit again this year.

  52. Kevin D. says:

I love what Cashman did. He basically paid O’Dowd back for selling Ubaldo to them at an inflated price. At the end of the day we get to keep our prized prospects for the time being and that sounds great to me.

  53. CBean says:

Well at least the Yankees have found the offense they were missing last night.

  54. Monteroisdinero says:

Buck’s face getting redder and redder.

  55. mbonzo says:

Drew Pomeranz, Alex White and Matt McBride supposedly.

Montero, Betances, Nova is much better in my opinion.

  56. Adam says:

And t-minus how many seconds before Buck starts plunking batters?

  57. Cy Pettitte says:

lmao at the up close shot of Buck.

  58. Cy Pettitte says:

SWISH!!!!!!! this is too fucking good.

  59. mbonzo says:

Wow this is one insane inning.

  60. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

Buck wants to run away to the clubhouse…

  61. Alex S says:

  62. Jack Merridew says:

Nova has now been given the same lead Hughes was given vs the As. Let’s see if Nova can manage to at least get through 5 innings and not give up 7 runs.

    • Jetrer says:

We get it already. You hate Hughes and love Nova.
One start does not make a career. Nova has already pretty much reached his ceiling. Hughes still has a chance to be better.

      • Jetrer says:

and Hughes lead was not 12-0 anyways, it was 12-2
not that that means anything, it just seems to be a big deal to you

    • Pasqua says:

      Sucks to your Hughes-mar!

  63. Charles says:

  64. YankeesJunkie says:

The worst thing about the non trade is that the Yankee fans will clamor for CJ Wilson at the end of the year.

  65. Kevin D. says:

P.S I think we should start putting in subs.

  66. Cuso says:

  67. mbonzo says:

    How long has Nova sat?

  68. Frank says:

This pretty much guarantees the Yanks won’t hit a lick tomorrow.

  69. Reggie C. says:

Perhaps the Rox never backed down from their Banuelos demands which would’ve frustrated any movement at all. The talks probably hit an impasse.

If CLE is willing to cough up Pomeranz and Alex White (isnt he on the DL?) … Cashman wasnt going to elect to beat that.

    • Adam says:

It is very annoying to listen to people kill Cashman as if we have an idea what the Rox were actually demanding. But, you know, since he has so little success as a GM and all…blah.

No matter what makes a trade happen elsewhere we never really know what happens in discussions, who the Rockies were interested in, who they value and who they don’t.

    • mbonzo says:

Respectivly, they were ranked #61 and #47 this offseason. Yankees had 4 players ranked higher, and 2 ranked lower. It was definitely beatable. I also get the feeling this deal isn’t official yet because they want a last word with Cashman.

      • Reggie C. says:

Pomeranz is probably a top 25 prospect right now. He cruised right through Hi A. Banuelos has more AA starts , but I wonder if the Rox view Pomeranz as somebody who could make the rotation out of ST. Pomeranz has 3 years of college ball.

  70. Justin says:

12 runs in the first inning, Paul and Ken in the booth, no Michael Kay…for all the people whining about Ubaldo, I’m enjoying being a yankee fan right now.

  71. Jimmy McNulty says:

The choices for the Text poll are not mutually exclusive.

  72. Dela G says:

Damn, what an awesome inning. What an ass kicking

  73. Cy Pettitte says:

  74. Adam says:

PS, I live outside of D.C. so am watching the MASN broadcast of the game…very entertaining to hear the depression in Gary Thorne’s voice.

  75. mbonzo says:

Hold your horses, Ubaldo is starting.

  76. Jimmy McNulty says:

I was wanting to deal a Betances/Nova headed package and keep Montero and Banuelos. I think there are packages that the Yankees could have offered that excluded Montero and Banuelos that would top the Indians package, however, that didn’t appear to be what Colorado wanted. Ugh…I’m pissed about this but there’s not really a proper place for me to direct my anger. Cashman really didn’t do anything wrong, my only question is why were Nova and Betances off the table? Betances has trouble after the fifth inning and Nova’s the king of mediocrity…what’s so special about those two? In three years they’ll probably both be relievers.

  77. Brandon says:

So the Indians deal will be White, someone else and a PTBNL(Pomeranz) for Ubaldo? Meaning the Indians get to keep Pomeranz for another 2 weeks. What if he gets hurt? The Rockies would be screwed then.

  78. Jetrer says:

helmet stayed on all the way past second base that time

  79. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

so will we see an O’s position player pitch?

  80. Brandon says:

Hah! Looks like Ubaldo was traded, then not traded, sor of like what happened to Hunter Pence on Thursday night. Told he would be pulled since he was going to be dealt. But wasnt pulled. Ubaldo was scratched, but he is now the started again for COL.

  81. Cy Pettitte says:

    15-0 looooooooooool

  82. Adam says:

    Two touchdowns up!

  83. Jack Merridew says:

This game ain’t ever gonna end. 30 runs is possible.

  84. Cy Pettitte says:

Post has learned that #Yankees asked #Rockies 4 datys ago to do physical on Jimenez if deal agreed to, Col refused, so Yanks bowed out

ahhhhh so now we see why he’s being moved

  85. JM says:

Glimmer of hope with the Ubaldo thing not being quite done yet.

  86. Steve (different one) says:

That was an awesome story about Russel Martin and Matt Wieters.

These are the kind of heart-warming nuggets we’ll have to cling to now that the season is officially over.

  87. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

    20 runs

  88. Karl Krawfid says:

Damn Jones has been hitting some hard shots.

  89. Mike Axisa says:

Andruw Jones can hit a ball as far as everyone. That’s some serious power.

  90. Mojo says:

Yeah . . . I think I’m liking me some Andruw instead of Posada.

  91. Cy Pettitte says:

    holy shit

  92. Jimmy McNulty says:

I mean…most of the critiques of Cashman are completely ill-thought out, but why the fuck are Nova and Betances off the table? Srsly. I think that’s a fair question to ask, I’m sure he had his reasons, and with the revelations of Colorado refusing a physical…but still Ubaldo’s thrown 640 innings from 2008-2010, and thrown 122 this season, I’d still be willing to include Betances and Nova for that.

  93. King George says:

I wouldn’t mind seeing Andruw become the permanent DH. Not gonna lie.

  94. mbonzo says:

New drinking game, everyone takes a shot when a Yankee broadcaster talks about trading for Felix Hernandez.

  95. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

I wonder what Matt does during games like this…

  96. Jimmy McNulty says:

Ubaldo’s thrown a pitch, so it looks like the deal to the Tribe is definitely off.

  97. Karl Krawfid says:

    20 runs lets do dis

  98. Dela G says:

Wow what a day for Robbie cano

  99. Karl Krawfid says:

The box score looks on this game looks insane.

  100. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

    Ubaldo sucking against the PADRES

  101. Dela G says:

The yanks showing mercy, holding granderson

  102. Mike Axisa says:

If they don’t score 25, I will be pissed.

  103. Some Guy says:

Bases loaded and they can’t score. Typical Yankees.

  104. Mojo says:

Okay . . . Now can I have Montero catching? Love Martin (as an individual) but that .226 line has been old for quite some time now. What reason is there to not bring Montero up? Once August hits, what will be the excuse?

  105. Pasqua says:

Here’s my ‘gut’ take on Ubaldo: I know the dude can pitch, but the news that he’s allegedly going to Cleveland causes me to feel not one teeny, tiny bit of frustration or concern. For all his ability, he’s not a guy (at this point) that would give me pause if the Yankees faced him in the postseason (unlike, say, Cliff Lee, who scares the ever-living shit out of me as a pitcher). I see no reason why we can’t beat him, every time we face him. I realize he COULD certainly shut us down on any given day, but I certainly wouldn’t EXPECT him to. I’m sure he could have helped us, but this doesn’t break my heart, to say the least.

  106. Brian S. says:

We only win when we hit home runs.

  107. Cy Pettitte says:

4 walks and 4 runs so far

  108. ItsATarp says:

With the way the Rockies are handling this Ublado deal, i’m not surprised Cashman told them to shove it.

  109. Cy Pettitte says:

Ubaldo’s gone, hugs and hand shakes in the dugout.

  110. Pat D says:

If I were Cashman right now, I’d call up Seattle and say, “Montero, Banuelos, Betances, Nova, Nunez and another position player for Felix and Adam Kennedy. What say you?!?”

  111. Cy Pettitte says:

    Hughes in the pen? wtf?

    • Mike Axisa says:

Today is his throw day between starts, I think they just held him back in case they needed the extra arm during the doubleheader. Probably just getting his work in now.

  112. mbonzo says:

Hughes in the pen? Please don’t be what I think it means.

  113. Karl Krawfid says:

    Poor Phil

  114. Mojo says:

Was that the first 1-2-3 inning for the Yankees?

  115. Pasqua says:

How can you NOT give this kid a chance, Paul? Age and options, my friend. Age and options. While Garcia and Colon pitch like golden geese, Nova’s gonna draw the short straw, methinks.

  116. Kevin D. says:

Solid start from Nova. He has certainly improved on finishing batters off this year.

  117. Cy Pettitte says:

Harden to the Red Sox, ugh.

  118. Cy Pettitte says:

    Robbie #toomanyhits

  119. Dela G says:

What a fucking douchebag denying those kids

  120. Karl Krawfid says:

Andrew Jones looks like an old baby.

  121. thaaaaaaaayankeeswin says:

so the Rockies took crap players from Cleveland but wanted HUGE prospects from the Yanks? eff them

  122. Karl Krawfid says:

Ah jeez not this shit again.

    Who cares about Christian Lopez.

  123. Brandon says:

Nova + a prospect for 1 or Thornton, Adams, Storen or Clippard. Get it done, Cashman.

  124. Karl Krawfid says:

    Lol at Nunie Jones.

  125. Mike Axisa says:

Can they trade Christian Lopez for Ubaldo?

    • Pat D says:

I’m pretty sure Christian Lopez is a lot like Derek Jeter now or Cal Ripken at the end of his career or Albert Pujols now: He’s worth a lot more to his current team than anyone else.

  126. All right, I was out and completely missed this Ubaldo thing. Apparently the Yankees put up a competitive offer but the Rockies wouldn’t let him take a physical so they turned to the Indians? Am I getting all this right? Sounds very weird to me.

  127. Phife Dawg says:

How far Lars Anderson has fallen. Remember he was supposed to be the Sox’s first basemen of the future? Good times.

  128. Cy Pettitte says:

Grandyslam to put us over 20 please

Grandy almost killed a guy :(

    No runs :(

  130. Dino Velvet says:

Nova makes a good case for staying in the rotation.

    • Jack Merridew says:

But it will fall on deaf ears. AJ Burnett is a #2 starter and Phil Hughes is the next Roger Clemens. Nevermind that Nova has outpitched both of them this season, he will be sent back down to AAA.

  131. Mojo says:

None or one out and bases loaded is kryptonite for this Yankees’ offense.

  132. Karl Krawfid says:

Ozzie left Bruney out to die.

    58 pitches.

  133. Dino Velvet says:

I would take Jeter out to get treatment on his finger considering there’s a day game tomorrow, but right now, the score is so close.

  134. Cy Pettitte says:

Luis Ayala, not as good as that 1.42 ERA might imply

  135. Cy Pettitte says:

MFIKY coming in for the 14 run lead save.

  136. Cy Pettitte says:

  137. Karl Krawfid says:

  138. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

    Let’s get 20.

  139. Cy Pettitte says:

Patton already threw 44 pitches today, are you serious?

  140. Mojo says:

I seriously hope that Sori throws harder than 90 MPH.

  141. BK2ATL says:

Nice quality start by Nova. 7 innings, 2 runs, 6K, 1 BB. I know it was only against the Orioles, but once he got past the 1st inning, he settled down nicely. I’d keep him around in case Hughes can’t get it together. He was and is a nice piece for the back end of the rotation.

    Applaud him.

  142. Kevin D. says:

Looks like Soriano’s velocity has returned…

  143. Freddy Garcia's 86 mph Heat says:

And Phil Hughes took Nova’s rotation spot because why?
