Freddy to test finger in bullpen session

By

Via Erik Boland, the bandage is off Freddy Garcia‘s cut index finger, and the big right-hander will test the digit out in a bullpen session today or tomorrow. Apparently it only gives him trouble when he throws his splitter, which is by far his most important pitch. Plus if it’s not healed all the way, he could end up tearing the cut back open and missing even more time. That would be bad.

    Bah, he’s fine.

You know Girardi & FO were looking for any possible injury to baby. It just helped that a little cut helped push a difficult decision 7-10 days later.

At which point someone else will develop ‘fatigue’ and need to be skipped for precautionary reasons.

Freddy, just take a little extra time off before you test that finger. In the mean time Phil Hughes can get another start.

Hmm, I must have missed when the news of this broke. Does anyone have a link to the article about it? I checked recent RAB posts but couldn’t find anything.

Still trying to find out what he did to cut the finger. More info needed than kitchen accident to right hand from a righty pitcher. Doesn’t Freddy know you always put the knives sharp side down in the dishwasher?

    Easily my favorite movie ever.
