Yankees, Rays will play doubleheader on September 21st

By

The makeup game between the Yankees and Rays for their August 14th rain out has been scheduled as part of a doubleheader for September 21st, the Yanks announced this morning. The two teams will be playing another makeup game on the 22nd (because of this mess), so instead of playing one game in a 48-hour span as the schedule originally called for, they’ll play three. The rest of the regular season is brutal: The Yankees will make a west coast trip tonight and play 15 games in the final 14 days of the season. Good thing they have such a huge lead on a playoff spot.

a tough schedule for sure, but there’s nothing that can be done about it…play the games and win, baby!!

this ain’t Boston…no time to bitch and complain about how tough the schedule is.

we’re the NEW YORK FREAKIN’ YANKEES!!

Has Boston recently bitched and complained about their schedule?

their fans always do…they complain about everything.

Just wanted to make sure we weren’t gratuitously, obsessively and unnecessarily bringing the Red Sox into a discussion in the same pathetic way that Red Sox fans do with the Yankees.

Yeah, we shouldn’t bring up the Sox just because.

Kings shouldn’t reference pretenders to the throne.

So which game on the 21st is the makeup game? The 7:00?

This brutal September is a result of not playing DH’s earlier in the season, when they had far more off days. They just kept backloading the rained out games into September, because here in the Northeast, it never rains in September.

Far better to hope and pray for good weather at the end of the season that to play a DH in May, when the off days are far more frequent and you can still get rest.
