NLDS Game Thread: Cardinals @ Phillies
ByThe Cardinals made that big late season run to grab the wildcard spot from the Braves on the final day of the season, and their reward is the trio of Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, and Cole Hamels. It’s Doc against Kyle Lohse at 5:07pm ET on TBS. Chat about the game here if you want.

Go, Cards!
Hoping for a Cards upset.
no no-hitter? wtf? Halladay blows.
BERKMAN!!
Puma!
The Phillies are unbeatable. LOL Halladay.
Wow!
I am not kidding, I called that from home.
Elvis!!!!!!
FAT ELVIS KILLS THE BASEBALL
that was very un-Halladay like
Berkman is having such a ridiculous year
Halladay clearly can’t handle big-game situations.
Halladay had an historic introduction to postseason baseball, but he hasn’t been all that great since. Clearly, he sucks.
Lance Mother F’in Berkman!
I love it when you call me Big Pu-ma.
Always liked Lance. Glad he’s having a big year.
Wow, didn’t see that one coming.
Halladay has a postseason ERA of 27.00. That guy sucks.
How long did that half inning take? 5 minutes at most?
Fat Elvis has left the building!
He’s also totally ruining the narrative.
Why couldn’t Berkman do that last year.
I seem to recall a certain ALDS game last year in which he came up very clutch.
.313/.368./688 in the playoffs last year.
Yeah, Berkman was the least of our troubles last postseason.
Before that, it seemed like he was traded for at the wrong time. His slump with the Astros carried over after trading for him. He might have found something in that postseason to carry over.
12 pitches, 6 outs. #efficient
Kyle Lohse > Roy Halladay
There goes the no-hitter.
Damn, that’s a big error.
good thing they got to Roy early
This is probably a good spot for the LOOGY.
you called it.
Yep, shoulda LOOGY’d.
How did I see that coming?
It;s pouring rain out here on lower east side. Anyone heard a reliable weather forecast for Yankee game?
http://www.weather.com/weather.....raph/10461
It looks like there might be a few scattered showers but the bad rain should hit us after the game.
FUCK.
And with Halladay having settled down, this one is basically in the books for Philly.
Should’ve known better than to get my hopes up.
Ibanez goes yard 6-3 Phillies.
My God did Kyle Lohse ever lose his grip on this game.
Thanks for the false hope.
How many hard hit balls does Lohse have to give up to get pulled from this game. I thought LaRussa was quick to the draw with that bullpen.
And there goes that ball. Loshe has lost it. He’s just lost it.
HUGE choke by Lohse
YOu have to admire what Ruben Amaro Jr. has done on Philly. Even it it seems to be for the short term.
Actaully it reminds me a bit of what the Yankees did in the late 90s.
They set up a core with Howard, Utley, Rollins, and Hamels (Jeter, Posada, Rivera, Pettite)
They went out and acquired top talent in free agency and trade with Pence, Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, and Polanco (Tino, Brosius, Cone, Wells, and Clemens)
They also have young guys (in baseball career terms)come up big with Vance Worley and El Duque.
I’ll applaud Amaro when he wins a World Series. If the Phillies can’t pull off a World Series win in the next 2 years, they’ll have wasted a lot of money and prospects that won’t be available for the future. They have a great team, but their organization is a different story.
Damn, this one turned in a hurry.
I’m not a meteorologist, nor do I play one on T.V., but the Doppler Radar is not giving me any faith in baseball happening in the Bronx tonight.
I’m no meteorologist either, but I think it’s a good sign that huge pile of green on the map is going in the opposite direction of the Bronx.
