Ivan Nova hires new agent, but don’t worry, it’s not Scott Boras

An updated look at the Yankees vs. Fangraphs' five primary pitch types

Via Tim Dierkes, Ivan Nova has hired Greg Genske of Legacy Sports to be his new agent. He had previously been represented by SFX. CC Sabathia is also a Genske client, and I wonder if he steered Nova in that direction since we know they’re pretty close. The Yankees don’t have to worry about a new contract for their young right-hander anytime soon; Nova can not become a free agent until after the 2016 season. They still have two more years until he’s even arbitration-eligible, so the switch isn’t of much consequence right now.

After all … Nova did mention that C.C wasnt going anywhere so maybe he had some inside knowledge i suppose ?!?!

Good for Nova. He could net a good pay day if continues to show that he can be a solid #3/4 starter.

CC’s influence shining already….Hope the kid continues to improve leading up to 2016, then the negotiations go as smoothly as CC’s just did.

Great example of why its important to promote from within. We have Nova under control at a salary well below the average for the next 4 years.

      I totally agree.

Given the payroll, CC, the offense and bullpen, it hasn’t hurt the Yanks to be patient with their younger guys. Breaking in the young prospects to this team allows them to get the big league experience and play with the vets, All-Stars and Hall-of-Famers.
