2 things that I didn’t like during today’s presser…and I know they will both (to some degree) sound insensitive.
1) All of the Spanish questions. I get it, he’s a prominent speaking Spanish-speaking ballplayer, so an entire community is eager to hear what he has to say, but while watching it seemed annoying. Possible to have a separate set of questions for the Spanish media?
2) The mother of the kid with craniosynostosis…her speech was a bit long and draw out. It was a nice touch, but…and I guess it’s not her fault…she was a ‘drip’ as a speaker.

    The kid with the disease’s mom is a friend of mine. She is a school teacher and very smart. She was also extremely nervous. Imagine getting up in front of that room and having to make a speech in front of the media and players..I would imagine you’d be nervous too.

    As to the topic..I met Mrs. Munson when I volunteered at the Posada Foundation dinner, at the request of the “kid with the disease’s mom”. She was the most personable, friendly person I have ever met and it was a true honor.

            Yeah, that was def poking fun at me, which I don’t mind at all…I actually thought it was clever.

            Let it be known though I wasn’t making fun of the mother or the kid in any way. I was just saying it really brought the whole thing to a screeching hault cause it dragged on.

  I’m happy when I see an international presence at MLB events, it means the sport is strong and has a large talent pool.

Yeah, she rules. I always get goosebumps when she, and the other yankee widows are announced at Old Timer’s Day. It’s great they keep these women in the Yankee family.

  I disagree. I enjoyed that a lot (although I agree with Axisa that Diana Munson has the highlight). I thought it was very on target and honest that Yankee fans loved his intensity, determination and the way he played the game. The fan perspective was a good touch, in my opinion.

one thing i didn’t like about the press conference was how posada mentioned to all his puerto rican fans posada was only born there he never acknowledges the fact that his father Cuban or that his mother is dominican i get offended since im dominican. other den that it was a very emotional n im very sad to see him go.
