Once again, YES tops regional spots network ratings list

For the ninth year in a row, the YES Network was the most-watched regional sports network in the country in terms of total day delivery in its home market. That’s a fancy way of saying more New Yorkers watched YES every day in 2011 than any other city watched its regional network(s). You can click through for all the stats, but I’ll save you time by saying they basically blew everyone out of the water. They were first overall by a wide margin.

And just for the record, we are taking full credit for that 52% increase in YESNetwork.com traffic. What’d you think that banner up there was for, aesthetics?

It’s all that compromised Goldman Sachs cash going into the blog, obviously. :)

How much money do we think YES is clearing each year?

If you guys were going for aesthetics, you merely need to put a mugshot of all three of your handsome faces on the top of the banner.

      Literally lol’d.

Yet their programming apart from Yankee games (and the broadcasters of those games) is pretty bad, so there would seem to be room for growth.

How do YES ratings compare to all channels, not just other RSNs?

The stats are a bit misleading. I would hope a Yankee game would do better than anything on MSG during the summer. I doubt they outdraw when the Rangers or Knicks play. I’d like to see the numbers for miked up too.

Not residing in the tri state really has me hating Bud Selig and the archaic rules of MLB broadcasting. I could get YES on Verizon but I am told all the games would be blacked out. What type of garbage is that. I want to be able to watch all the Yankees games without having to hook my computer up to the TV (been there done that) and I am willing to pay for it and MLB will not let me do this. They do not want my money.

I should be able to Ala carte the games or the YES network. What other business refuses to sell its products to people that want to buy them? Pharmaceutical Narcotics, alcohol, guns, tobacco and MLB. The first three would do it but there is governmental regulation, MLB is all self imposed.

You can buy a package to watch games on TV, in fact, you’d get every game not just yankee games. And it would be the YES feed but not from YES, at least for home games. they want you to buy that package because its super expensive, not just buy YES.
