Girardi announces early Spring Training rotation
ByReal live baseball games will be played later this week, prompting Joe Girardi to announce his early Spring Training rotation this afternoon. Courtesy of Bryan Hoch (all game start at 1:05pm ET)…
- Friday vs. University of South Florida: Adam Warren (no TV)
- Saturday @ Phillies: Ivan Nova (on MLBN)
- Sunday vs. Phillies: Freddy Garcia (on YES and MLBN)
- Monday @ Phillies: Michael Pineda (on MLBN)
- Tuesday @ Pirates: CC Sabathia and Phil Hughes (no TV)
- Wednesday vs. Rays: Hiroki Kuroda (on YES and MLBN)
With all due respect to everyone else, the big news is Pineda’s first start, which will be televised live one week from today. The Phillies train 15-20 minutes from Tampa in Clearwater, so it’s not like the Yankees are sending him on a big long road trip. There will be plenty of time for that later in March. Hooray baseball? Hooray baseball.

YES! BASEBALL IS BACK!
This Pineda guy better be good damnit
dvr set fo trmonday.
Yup, watch games on Sat & Sun and have the DVR ready to go for Pineda’s first official (yet meaningless) start. Can’t wait!!
Sadface, CC and Hughes’ game won’t be televised.
Either way, I can’t wait for the games to start. I know they don’t have any meaning, but it’s great to see the guys back in action.
What is mlbn — is it on NYC cable, Internet?
MLBN is the MLB Network. I get it via my cable tv package here in Connecticut. I would think that many/most cable and satellite providers carry it, though it depends on the package you subscribe to. It’s not in the basic package here, but I get the HD package including the sports.
