After two dominant starts to open the season, Jose Campos is second to only Dylan Bundy on this week’s Prospect Hot Sheet. Both Manny Banuelos and Cito Culver were on the Not So Hot Sheet, however. Banuelos, in case you missed it, has been placed on the Triple-A DL. We also had some Low-A Charleston notes earlier as well.

  1. Bernard says:

I can’t help but notice Tyler Austin. He seems to be a hitting machine. I think you may have been right about him, Mike. He could be a top ten Yankees prospect very soon, if he isn’t already. He’s keeping up with the big boys, Bichette and Sanchez, at least for the moment anyway.

    • Steve S. says:

Their biggest issue will be finding him a position. He really should be at 3B, but Bichette gets the nod there. He might be a little light with the bat if he stays at 1B, so maybe he can get some reps in the OF somewhere.

  2. Havok9120 says:

In the “Silver Lining” category, Mitchell and the ‘pen managed to pitch around his six walks and allow only 2 runs to be charged to him. That’s Robertston-esque

  3. Angelo says:

Nice to see Culver with three hits today. Hopefully he can keep it up.

  4. Chris says:

Gotta say man, keep up the good work with the Minor League updates Mike. Not only are they insightful but well done.

  5. zs190 says:

Interesting to see Whitley promoted to AAA then threw 48 pitches in one outing, I wonder if they are thinking of him as a long relief option at some point later in the season. He’s not a power arm but he’s got good command and has a changeup for use against lefties, seems like a good package for long relief.

  6. Samuel says:

Wow. Chase Whitley with 4 IP. Are they extending him out to be a starter?

  7. crawdaddie says:

MiLb.com boxscore and game day has Whitley at 38 pitches for his 4 innings on Friday.

  8. mustang says:

Dante decide to give Culver some hits.

    Dante stop sharing !!!!

    GET NEXT TIME DANTE!!!!!!
