Update: Eric Chavez fine after leaving game with foot issue

By

9:59pm: Joe Girardi said after the game that it’s nothing serious and they took Chavez out just to play it safe. They’ll check him out again tomorrow just to make sure nothing lingered.

9:45pm: Eric Chavez left tonight’s game after the eighth inning, apparently with some kind of foot issue. He took a swing in the seventh and winced/hopped around a bit, but ensured Joe Girardi and the trainer that he was fine. Chavez finished the at-bat and was replaced defensively in the next inning. Pretty sure it was just a precaution, but you can’t be too sure with him.

On a side note, how wierd is it that both Upton’s hit there 100th career HR on the same day? The younger one got it first, in case u were wondering. Only in baseball..lol

  3. the Phillies just DFA’d Mike Fontenot two days ago, if anything is seriously wrong with Chavez, he shouldn’t be too hard to get.

Also, injury has mutated and become an airborne virus. Millions could be at risk. Scientist are calling it H5 N21. Stay tuned for more updates.

Thank goodness. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m loving the Zombie’s contributions on both sides of the ball these days, and I’m glad I don’t have to imagine life without him for any length of time at this point.
