Jeter healing as expected, will shed boot in 6-7 weeks
ByDuring an appearance on The Michael Kay Show, Derek Jeter confirmed his surgically repaired left ankle is healing as expected. He will remain in his walking boot for another 6-7 weeks and unsurprisingly, the Cap’n expects to be ready in time for Spring Training. Whether that actually happens is another matter entirely. There’s still a long way to go in the rehab process and older players aren’t exactly swift healers. Either way, so far so good.

It’ll be nice to not have to worry about the captain.
Seriously. I’m officially in chicken little mode now after the announcement of the A-Rod surgery, and the capt’n being ready for opening day would be a huge relief.
Stay strong, Plouffy.
This. Cue up some “Rocky” music or something. Play the opening scene from “Gladiator.”
It’ll get figured out. At least you’re not hearing a peep about pitching.
Will he shed punds along with the boot?
pundspoundsJeter will probably use the public diss as motivation to get in even better shape than before to shut people up, just as he did to those that thought he had begun a precipitous offensive decline (which, TBH, I was guilty of).
I would hope so.

wish I could lose fat so quickly.
With “two knives”, you should be able to.
He never gained the weight, it was just an unflattering picture blown out of proportion.
That’s what I try to tell myself all the time.
Shit… You should see all the unflattering angles I have been snapped at for the past…. Well, lets say forever. I have yet to find a good angle to be photographed in…
It’s the love handles. Can’t shake them.
SFW?

He has already shed the weight. Here is a recent picture of him:

didn’t see reply above.
How come they don’t have these guys in hyberbaric chambers three-four days a week?
Concerning derek and moving to third..
…Cashman said that wasn’t going to happen, now do you guys think that is because Jeter wouldn’t/doesn’t want to, or because Cashman doesn’t want to do that?
interesting – i didnt hear the interview – but Mr. Private goes on the record with a bought-and-paid puff-interviewer the same week his image takes a hit?
i wonder if he was pluging anything, or if it was just a CYA
How did his image take a hit? The guy wasn’t supposed to move for several weeks. He’s human. Cut him a break.
The day Derek Jeter shows up to work out of shape is the day it’s fair to say his image or work ethic takes a hit.
This. Spring training doesn’t start until almost 2 and a half months from now. If he’s still overweight then, we can worry.
Phil Hughes takes offense
What interview? One news outlet took a photo of him last week that made him look heavy. Another news outlet this week has a photo of him showing it was all nonsense.
Hmmm…I still think we need Drew.
Hurry back Jeets! You may hit the most HR’s from the right side of any hitter in our lineup in 2013.
Depressing and scary thought….
