big member is here for part 2 of his offseason analisation. yeserday, i acuired secret news from my inside souces that cano wont give yanks a home town discount. well folks big member was not surpised. its oblivious that robie is an underachiver he never runs to bases and only hits when he feels like it. he ashamed yanks during the home run derby and pays with no grit. mike axisa has already analised a potentional cano to cardinals trade but i have better solution….
Cubs get: Robinson Cano
Yankees get: Alfonso Soriano
for those of you who are not true yankee fans or jsut have memory problems, soriano was a great yankees player before “genious” cashman traded him to the cubs for arod. why the sorgasm big member? thats because soriano hit 32 HR and 108 RBIs last year. what did alex do? Oh yeah 18 HR and 50 RBIS. good job cashman.
well back to the trade. mike says that cardinals would want robie. well the last time i checked cubs and cards had a rivary and cubs would lunge at the oportunity to get robbie.
wow big member but that gives a hole in 2b….not. soriano used to play great at 2b for yanks. he wont have a problem switching back to 2b if joe asks him nicely. if yanks dont geta chance to sign a RF, soriano can just play 2b on the oufield grass. granderson is pretty fast and can cover most of CF/RF and soriano will use his OF expertise to help him out.
finaly, alfonso can convince his brother rafael to come back and pitch for the yanks for a smaller salary. rafael would jump at the chance of playing with his brother and it would only take a few million to sign him.

I think Rafael would absolutely follow his brother back to the Yankees. Even beyond that, though, I think Robbie Cano would absolutely notice the Yankees being nice to other Dominicans and would return for to the Yankees for a steep discount.

Soriano was traded to the Rangers, not the Cubs. At this point, if Sorano bent down to get a grounder he would suffer a miniscus tear.

But if we trade Cano for Longoria and move A-Rod to second we get the added bonus of using his sister Eva to distract the opposing players. We won’t need to worry about that with A-Rod anymore since he’ll be at 2b, away from the distractions by the stands.
I’ll take the other scenario with the Cardinals instead. Been there, done that with Soriano. That was a great trade at the time. Arod was near the top of his game at SS.. Moved to 3B to appease Jeter.
He moved to third base to fill the opening the Yankees were filling.

Apparently the Royals are close to trading Wil Myers to the Rays for James Shields and Wade Davis (and there may be some additional players involved)
I know the Royals want pitching, but they trade one of the top prospects (and potentially the best hitting prospect in the minors) for 2 years of Shields and a reliever? While Wade Davis is talked up as a starter, by the advanced stats he was one of the worst starters in baseball his last 2 full years as a starter.
Seems awful light on the Rays side.

Mystery Team has been very quiet so far this winter. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re planning a big move behind the scenes. Maybe a Josh Hamilton signing or a big three-team trade.

Even when he’s not shooting well though, he still gets to the line. He has a bunch of stitches in his left hand too which may be affecting his stroke.
Yea the guy is playing amazing this year and possibly but he was also missing the other night before the stitches.

I felt the same way. I thought Gallo was gonna develop into a poor man’s Dirk Nowitski.
He’s above average and still pretty young but nowhere near that level.

Dodgers also sign pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu today for $36M over six years. They won the posting rights for him at about $26M, so a $62M investment.
At least the idea that the Yankees are trying to buy championships should be put to rest with the Dodgers going buck wild.

I am really surprised by how the nuggets are 10-10 this year.
With all that young talent, you’d think any year now they’d make a move to become one of the better teams in the west.
It is not like they have any elite talent though. Just a bunch of young, good players. Solid team, not one of the best though.
Yeah but I would have thought that guys like Gallinari, Lawson, McGee and Anthony Randolph would have taken the next step to become closer to All Star caliber players to go along with Iguodala and Faried, who is a beast.
They all have seemed to have reached a little bit of a plateau though they’re all still pretty young
I don’t really see any of them taking the next step to stardom. A couple of them could surely blossom to all star level, but even an occasional all star player is not propelling them to the elite in the west.
They definitely don’t have that one go-to superstar to carry them at this point.

Shields (and Davis) for a prospect? This Myers better be something. That sounds like a whole lot for the RAYS unless there’s more on the MiLB end coming over.
