RHP Jose Ramirez threw four innings and 60 pitches in a simulated game the other day according to Josh Norris. I’m not exactly sure why he started the year on the DL, but it can’t be anything serious if he’s pitching in games. Ramirez should join Double-A Trenton relatively soon.
Triple-A Scranton Game One (6-1 loss to Buffalo in seven innings) makeup of one of this week’s rainouts

- C Austin Romine & CF Melky Mesa: both 0-3 — Romine struck out
- RHP Dellin Betances: 0.2 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 WP — 22 of 41 pitches were strikes (54%) … I’m sure it was just the long layoff due to all the rainouts, right?

Low-A Charleston‘s game was suspended after the 13th inning with the teams tied at seven. Not sure when they’re going to complete this one, but August doesn’t come back to town until June. Here’s the box score if you’re interested.
