The Yankees and Rays have split the first two games of this three-game series, so tonight’s rubber match will determine whether the Bombers go home tonight on the heels of a 4-2 road trip or a 3-3 road trip. They’ve won ten of 14 games since the ugly 1-4 start, and the good news is that Tampa is throwing right-hander Alex Cobb tonight. Right-hander is the key word there. The Yankees don’t pose much threat to left-handers these days, but they have absolutely demolished righties (147 wRC+) in the early going. Hopefully that continues against Mr. Cobb. Here’s the starting nine…

  1. CF Brett Gardner
  2. LF Ichiro Suzuki
  3. 2B Robinson Cano
  4. DH Travis Hafner
  5. C Frankie Cervelli
  6. 1B Lyle Overbay
  7. SS Eduardo Nunez
  8. RF Brennan Boesch
  9. 3B Jayson Nix

And on the mound is the Louisiana-born and Texas-raised left-hander, Andy Pettitte.

Tonight’s series finale is scheduled to start at 7:10pm ET and can be seen on YES. Enjoy.

  • Havok9120

    Bobb Cobb.

Crush him. Crush him FOR PRUSSIA.

    • Winter

If this season goes well, can we declare the German Empire in Fbway after a sweep?

      • Havok9120

Der Kaisserreich shall live on in pinstriped splendor!

        • Havok9120

          So yes. Yes we can.

We’ll need a crown. And a large ceremony on Yawkey Way (that’s like Versailles, right?)

          • Dalek Jeter

This, and just of everything else these days, reminds me of Doctor Who. Mostly because of the Versailles reference.

        • Chilango

Ceremony in a T subway car. Oh, and it’s DAS Kaiserreich

          • Havok9120

Is it? I know it’s das Reich for a generic empire or the Third Reich. The Holy Roman Empire usually uses die and Kaiser uses der and no one I’ve read has ever been able to agree which one fits with Kaiserreich.

And regarding the subway car, I think I prefer to model the Pinstriped Empire, and certainly it’s founding, on the Second Reich’s. Certainly preferable to the train car precedents of the World Wars.

            • Chilango

No. In German, in a compound word, the declension of the article is that of the last word. It’s DAS Reich hence

              DAS Kaiserreich

              • Havok9120

Sweetness. Thank you. My German is not the best by any means. Enough to do my research but little else.

                • Chilango

schoen ich werde dich auf dem blog sehen…

                  • Havok9120

                    Und ich dich.

    • Gone Phishin’

      It’s Maestro

      • Havok9120

        I prefer Bobb. Bobb Cobb.

        …..
        ….

        ..
        .

        Bobb Cobb.

  • Wheels

Last game in a dome for awhile.

    • Dalek Jeter

      Thank god.

    • Havok9120

      Yessssss.

  • Long-Past-His-Day-Rod

If only this game was in YS3…

  • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

Ichiro really just isn’t a power hitter, huh?

A Captain Obvious quote, I guess.

  • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

First official day of auditions today (Monday was an info meeting). Ten people showed up, five guys and five girls.

This is actually GREAT news, since “Godspell” has a ten person cast with five guys and five girls. As far as I’m concerned we’re at least guaranteed a full cast, which is awesome. Nobody really knew how many people to expect, so this is great.

    • Havok9120

That is good news. Certainly better than most of the alternatives.

      • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

Exactly. And I knew for a fact that at least a few of them were really talented, and a couple other people from the auditions impressed me too. I don’t think it’s going to be a bad cast at all.

    • vicki

what city are you in? i put an ad in backstage a few years ago for three non-paying roles. 250 horrible new york actors showed up.

      • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

Heh, I prefer not to give my exact location but our only advertising was through Facebook and a few small posters I put up,and of the towns I’m close to, none of them are NYC, believe me.

    • Dalek Jeter

Congrats dude! Hopefully all goes well.

      • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

I think it will. Soon I’m going to meet up with friends at an Applebees or something and celebrate, because I don’t think anybody, me included, REALLY thought we’d make it this far.

  • Dalek Jeter

    You’re better than that Robbie…

    • The Real Greg

On the contrary, that’s Cano’s career in a nutshell.

Such a great hitter but does what he just did too much,

  • Mick taylor

How come Brandon laird played like crap for yanks but is doing a good job for the astros

    • Preston

SSS, he had a good game today, that’s it. It also didn’t hurt that Joe Saunders was toeing the rubber. He isn’t good.

      • The Real Greg

Except when facing the Rangers in the playoffs.

    • Winter

There are players doing a good job for the Astros?

      • Dalek Jeter

That was my reaction, I actually picked Saunders up off waivers in my fantasy league last time he faced the ‘Stros, he struck out like 8 and pitched 7 innings of shutout baseball.

  • Jimmy

Scary to see Frankie batting fifth.

    • Long-Past-His-Day-Rod

Not as scary as Ben Francisco in that same spot.

      • trr

first anti-Francisco comment of the thread, congrats!

        • Long-Past-His-Day-Rod

He’s not even playing and I had to get a snipe in.

I’d like to thank all my fellow RAB’ers, and distilled mineral spirits.

          • Long-Past-His-Day-Rod

I totally didn’t mean mineral spirits, Christ. Perhaps I started drinking too early this evening…

            • Havok9120

No such thing. I started at 1:30 in celebration of New Orleans being transformed into an imitation of Venice by the storm that hit us.

  • The Real Greg

    Cobb has a good change.

    • trr

good pitcher, I like to watch him

  • Anderson Silva

    solid 0-2 hit by Nunez

  • Wheels

    Nice hit.

  • Erica

Oh yay! I always get irrationally excited over a Nunez hit.

    • Eddard

      That makes two of us.

      • Preston

        We know

        • Erica

I’m a little leery of the fact that I said something that Eddard agreed with.

          • Havok9120

            As you should be.

      • Dalek Jeter

        We know, Eddard. We know.

  • Preston

The Rays piss me off. They debut a solid Rookie pitcher every damn year Price, Davis, Hellickson, Moore and Cobb since 2009. And they have Archer, Colome and Odorizzi all producing at AAA.

    • The Real Greg

      While the Yankees……..zippo

      • Havok9120

Yes, because we’re not closer to the average than the Rays.

        Nope.

        • Preston

My point wasn’t to bash the Yankees. I can’t remember where but somebody did a graph on developing pitchers and we’re slightly above average in that regard. My point was the Rays are ridiculously good at it. It’s beyond the point where you just think they’ve had good luck and start to think that they know something other teams don’t.

          • Havok9120

I know you weren’t. The same cannot be said for Greg.

    • Long-Past-His-Day-Rod

All true, but look at their playoff record over the last decade and be glad you’re a Yankee fan.

    • trr

      why be mad at them?
be mad at the Yanks scouts / FO

  • Dalek Jeter

    That was a nasty pitch.

  • Eddard

They’re getting some good swings off Cobb. Nuney had a nice hit. Ichiro almost hit one out. One more time through the order and they’ll give Andy a nice cushion.

  • The Real Greg

    HELLO!

  • Long-Past-His-Day-Rod

    Jeet ain’t making that play.

  • Dalek Jeter

    NUNIE!!!!!!!!

  • Preston

Slow clap for Nuney on that one.

  • vicki

    well, check out the shortstop.

  • bobtaco

    Some throw, Nuney

    • Dalek Jeter

+1 When he got to that ball my first thought was “oh god, just eat it, please don’t throw it…”

  • Erica

    Nunez MVP

  • Eddard

It’s the Eduardo Nuney show tonight. Who said Nuney can’t play defense?

    • Wheels

      Mike Francesa?

    • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

      Everyone with eyesight.

      • Erica

        +100000000

    • Preston

I’m still open to the idea that playing SS everyday and the mechanical tweaks he made in ST have fixed his throwing problems. If they have he can definitely be a league average SS defensively.

  • Cervelli is the Man

    WOW nice job Nuney!!!!!

  • Vern Sneaker

    Pick it, dude!

  • Dalek Jeter

Anybody who says they didn’t feel their stomach drop the second Nunie popped up to throw that ball is either really hungry or a liar.

    • Cervelli is the Man

      I am quite hungry.

  • Dalek Jeter

Ugh…I’m watching the game on TV. I don’t need you guys (Kenny, Coney, and Lou) slobbering all over Nix, I get that enough from John and Suzyn, also Lou,
    Mark Derosa>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jayson Nix.

  • Vern Sneaker

It occurs to me how little I miss Michael Kay. There’s so much more in-the-game commentary without him.

    • Erica

      He’s a total conversation killer.

    • Cervelli is the Man

If you were listening to the Tamps team like I am on MLB.tv basic, you would miss Michael Kay. They are awful!!!

    • Havok9120

I usually don’t actually miss Kay either…until I listen to almost any non-YES broadcast team.

      • Dalek Jeter

The best non-Yankee broadcast I remember from last season was Washington, on the radio. The play by play guy wasn’t at all biased, the color guy was entertaining and knowledgeable, and I knew the score, count, and inning at all times.

        • Havok9120

Yeah, I’ve heard good things about their crews.

  • Cervelli is the Man

Well this game is really hummin along.

  • The Real Greg

    Joe Madden is f***ing nuts

    • Preston

It wouldn’t work everywhere, and I think he over does it a little bit with the creativity (both on the field and in the clubhouse). But I think plenty of managers in the next decade or so will emulate him and they probably should.

  • Dalek Jeter

I want to play for the Rays, just for today. They got to hangout with penguins before being payed to play a game.

    • Erica

I saw those same kind of penguins at the Camden aquarium and they were rude. My boyfriend and I were checking them out and they just turned their backs and pooped, mightily.

      • Vern Sneaker

That’s a sign of penguin affection.

      • Dalek Jeter

When I say ‘lol’ online I very rarely laugh out loud. I want you to know I’m cracking up right now. I probably would’ve just chuckled a bit, but the inclusion of ‘mightily’ just pushed pushed me into hysterics.

    • Zooboy

      Whatever. Penguins are snooty.

      • Erica

        They’re so fancy too.

      • Dalek Jeter

Well, they’re always so well dressed, they have a right to be snooty.

Also, look at this guy fail at getting his food http://24.media.tumblr.com/c6f.....o1_400.gif

        • Erica

          Omg so much derp.

  • Erica

    MARRY ME ANDY PETTITTE

  • Chilango

Andy dials it up to 91. How about that.

  • Alkaline

    ZZZZZZ

  • Havok9120

    Jeez Andy.

  • The Real Greg

And actually Cano was running hard on that.

  • Eddard

The 2nd baseman would have gotten that anyway, and easier than they did in the shift.

  • Darren

So, what’s going on the game? How does Andy look? I’m listening to John and Snoozyn, so it’s diificult to tell what the F is happening. I feel like I’m listening to two drunks at a bar.

    • Havok9120

Andy and Cobb are both looking pretty darn good.

    • nsalem

More like 2 senior citizens at a nursing home. Q answers are Tino and Sam Militello

      • Darren

What’s the question? I saw Sam Militello picth at YS, high socks, he was gonna be our first ace in the 90s

  • http://www.penuel-law.com/ Cuso

Knew it when everyone was taking shots at Cobb last night after the game that somehow we’d come out and make him look better than he is for several innings.

YCPB, but you YCPRJ (reverse jinx)

    • Havok9120

      Do you mean…

      *sunglasses*

      …Bobb Cobb?

      • http://www.penuel-law.com/ Cuso

Haha. Yes. Among other comments. Bobb Cobb was funny actually. It was the comments that we were “guaranteed” to knock him around.

        • Havok9120

Yeah, I’m not sure what that was about. It’s not as if we’ve ever roughed him up before.

  • Preston

Man, that looked like an INF hit all the way.

  • Havok9120

SRod is earning his money at first tonight.

  • Pasta Stumbling Sojo

Am I the only one disturbed by these MLB.tv commercials with Wes Welker peddling Depends diapers? Is that really the only product he could find to sponsor?

    • Eddard

I’m not getting that one. I’m getting Hayden Panettiere selling the fabric of our lives.

  • Anderson Silva

I thought only the lineup against lefties was supposed to be this bad. This is terrible.

    • Dalek Jeter

Alex Bobb Cobb is a really good pitcher.

      • Anderson Silva

This has nothing to do with Mr. Cobb. You have Ichiro hitting second and Cervelli hitting fifth. That is almost Astros bad.

        • Havok9120

          No. No it isn’t.

        • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

Mr. Cobb has a lot to do with it. He’s pitching very well. Obviously the weak lineup helps.

        • Anderson Silva

Also, Cobb is not that good. League average maybe (96 ERA+ last year)

          • Dalek Jeter

Conversely, if you go and look at his minor league numbers and his brief stint in the majors in 2011 you’ll realize that there is a really good chance that last year is not indicative of what Cobb will be going forward.

        • The Real Greg

So? Can’t do anything about it.

        • Havok9120

So this outing has no reflection on Andy either, I take it.

It’d be…interesting if baseball actually worked this way. The MLB playoffs would work a lot more like the NBA.

          • Anderson Silva

the lineup is bad. That’s a statement independent of who’s pitching. It can’t be that hard to understand this.

            • Havok9120

The lineup isn’t great. But it isn’t unbelievably terrible on the Astros model. That you’re denying Cobb has much/anything to do with it doesn’t help your argument.

            • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

This has nothing to do with Mr. Cobb

That’s a statement that is not independent of who’s pitching.

    • The Real Greg

Doesn’t matter if you’re a righty or a lefty, if you have a good changeup, you can beat the Yankees.

      • Dalek Jeter

Doesn’t matter if you’re a righty or a lefty, if you have a good changeup, you can beat the Yankees be a very good major leaguer.

  • Erica

    Send Nunez to AAA!

    • Havok9120

The Bandwagon is lumbering into action. Give it a moment.

  • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

Did Cashman ever actually said something even close to him expecting Nuñez to become a first rate SS? or is Susyn just making shit up, again?

    • Dalek Jeter

No, he just said that he was a shortstop, and would be used as a SS exclusively early last season. It was a reference to them giving up on him as a multiposition guy.

    • Havok9120

They’ve said they think he can be MLB starter-quality. I’m not sure they’ve ever gone further than that, at least not in the last several years.

      • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

I tought so, thanks guys, you and Voldy.

      • OldYanksFan

Nunez is Melky-esque. He has the raw talent from the neck down, but what happens from the neck up, seems to nullify their talent.

  • Erica

Are you guys in favor of Sweet Lou announcing? I think he always has great insight. (Same goes for David Cone, ESPECIALLY when partnered with Al Leiter.)

    • Dalek Jeter

I don’t like Lou. I think he’s boring, he can string more than a sentence together without pausing, and his insight is “meh” at best. Coney on the other hand I love.

      • Erica

That’s just the way he speaks! The guy has been around forever. He has seen things!

        • Dalek Jeter

That’s a problem though, to be a good analyst or color guy, you have to be engaging. Lou is not.

          • Preston

Eh, I like the way he speaks, he’s folksy. I’d rather a guy spoke less and had something to say then the guys who blather on constantly.

            • Havok9120

I will give him that. He stays pretty quiet when he doesn’t have a specific point/joke to make.

    • Havok9120

I think he’s got good things to say much of the time (when he isn’t blathering on being Captain Obvious) but he says them in the least engaging way possible. I don’t mind him up there, and I enjoy it quite a bit for the nostalgia, but I don’t think he’s a great addition that needs to be doing tons more games.

    • Eddard

Cone’s the best analyst in the game. If I were FOX or ESPN I’d scoop him up. Leiter is good. O’Neill is good, more for humor than analysis. I don’t mind Sweet Lou, much better than Flasch.

    • Chilango

I like Leiter, Cone, Lou, Kenny and…………………………………………………….Kay

      in that order

      • Chilango

Oh wedge Paulie in there somewhere for comic relief

        • Erica

We need Paul for food analysis!

          • Havok9120

            Agreed.

    • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

I’m not watching right now, but what I’ve heard of him didn’t like it TBH.

      Too old-school/d for my taste.

  • Vern Sneaker

We’ve got NOBODY better than Nunez for SS and he’s handling it decently. Can’t we give him a break? I’m more worried about when he’ll start hitting.

  • http://www.penuel-law.com/ Cuso

    Will somebody hit this shitbird?

    • Havok9120

Well. There you go. Off a rebound.

  • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

    WTF Boesch?

  • The Real Greg

Now you get why Ichiro starts?

    • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

Because the Yankees didn’t bother to acquire a starting RF in the offseason?

      • The Real Greg

        Was there one available?

        • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

          Yes.

          • The Real Greg

Who besides Justin Upton because the Yankees weren’t draining the farm and Josh Hamilton because the Yankees weren’t breaking the bank

            • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

              You asked for “one” pal…

              • The Real Greg

                Name him.

                • Preston

The answer is and always was Nick Swisher.

                  • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

                    That’s it, him too.

                • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

Justin Upton, I think he was as available as it gets, you asked for an available RF.

Lets watch Andy get out of this, shall we??

                  • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

                    Fuck, he didn’t

            • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

What they weren’t going to do is obvious. It doesn’t change the fact that they were available. You asked if any were available. The answer is definitely yes. Upton (though he may not have been attainable), Hamilton, and Swisher to name a few.

              • Havok9120

                This.

              • Dalek Jeter

To name a two more, Choo and Stubbs who were traded for each other.

                • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

I forgot Choo, but I’m not sure I’d qualify Stubbs as a starting RF.

                  • Dalek Jeter

:( I have a weird like for him. I can’t explain it, but he just seems so toolsy that I think he has to put it together at some point.

                • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

And my favorite; Chris Dickerson :)

  • Preston

Literally anyone else in baseball would have scored on that.

  • nsalem

I’ve heard Cashman make posiitve statements about Nunez. I think it was foolish of the Yankees to stick him at 3rd base in 2011 when he only had played there as a pro in 5 games back in 2007. What did they expect to result from that?????

  • Dalek Jeter

    Womp Womp.

  • http://www.penuel-law.com/ Cuso

Oh come on. Are you serious?

  • Long-Past-His-Day-Rod

    Brennan Boot-sch

  • Eddard

Get Wells off the bench and get Boesch off the field. That was little league right there.

  • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Boesch!!

Let the “that’s why you play Ichi” crowd apear.

    • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

I correct myself, Greg beat me to the spot.

  • Havok9120

    Well this is deeply unfortunate.

  • nsalem

we need a crafty k here

  • Anderson Silva

comon Andy! We need two more K’s here.

  • Eddard

If anyone can get out of this it’s Andy.

  • Dalek Jeter

    ANDY is straight Dandy!

  • Vern Sneaker

That was a clinic. One more , Andy.

  • nsalem

Those were the easy two. Here comes the hard part

  • Eddard

Coney called it. What a pitch on the outside. One more Andy!

  • Erica

    Cue pissed off Andy.

  • Anderson Silva

one too many curves in the same spot.. fucking Boesch screwed Andy

  • Dalek Jeter

Almost got out of it :(

    • Deathstroke Heathcott

      He wanted it too.

  • Havok9120

    Dang.

  • Eddard

Andy told him what pitch he was going to throw. Should have stuck with the cutter.

  • Havok9120

AND he gets two earned runs off of that, because scoring is stupid.

    • Dalek Jeter

Really? They didn’t score that a single with both runners advancing on an E-9?

      • Deathstroke Heathcott

Still counts as earned runs because Zobrist hit a double.

        • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

Boxscore only counted one as earned, fwiw.

          • Havok9120

Really? ESPN was showing two on his line.

I see it’s two now, though. Sweetness. I’m much happier now.

            • Havok9120

              one*

        • Dalek Jeter

But you can’t assume a runner scores from first on a double? Can you? Also there’s two outs, aren’t any runs scored with 2 outs in an inning with an error unearned because it’s assumed the pitcher would be out of the inning?

(I’m genuinely asking this, idk the rules about scoring)

          • Deathstroke Heathcott

Ah, you’re right. ESPN wasn’t showing it right and I didn’t think it out.

          • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

The 2 outs don’t matter in this case because the error didn’t prevent an out, it just gave extra bases.

            • Dalek Jeter

Okay, that makes sense. I never realized how confusing official scoring can be lol.

  • Anderson Silva

Alright, time to hit Mr. Cobb.

    • Havok9120

      …for Prussia?

      • Dalek Jeter

        Yes Havok. For Prussia.

  • your mom

    Fuck Ben Zobrist.

    • Havok9120

And Boesch or however the heck it’s spelled.

  • Long-Past-His-Day-Rod

Damn, thought he was going to get out of it after the two K’s; Whatever, if they lose, I’m still blaming the offense and Boot-sch.

Off to the bar to continue watching the game while becoming even more belligerent.

Let’s get another comeback win together here!

  • Preston

PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYER!!! Let’s get those runs back.

  • Havok9120

    Nicely done, Nix.

    Now to avoid the DP.

    • Havok9120

      Sigh.

  • Luis Castillo (Not the one who dropped the ball)

There you have the first bj of the night for yourself Nixy, by the great Jhon Sterling. It wasn’t that long, but a blowjob is good for you.

    • Dalek Jeter

God, you should’ve heard the gob-job they were giving him in the TV booth in the first. He was literally compared to Mark Derosa.

  • Erica

    Productive.

  • Kramerica Industries

The Yankees have never hit well against this bastard. It’s terribly annoying.

  • Anderson Silva

    oh boy.. game over

  • Kramerica Industries

And, lovely, Sean Rodriguez there to kill the Yankees once again.

  • Dalek Jeter

Fuck this ballpark and this team and this series. There’s still a chance we win this game but I just hate everything about Tampa Bay baseball.

    • Kramerica Industries

I concur with all of this.

Now, try living in this market. These fucking assholes treat the Yankees and their fans like scum, but they are so quick to forget that, without the Yankees help, they never make the playoffs in 2011.

      Fucking ingrates.

  • Cy Pettitte

pick random scrub from the Rays line up, that scrub will probably kill us.

  • Eddard

The wheels have come off for Andy. He shouldn’t have hit Jose Molina but I blame Boesch.

  • Dalek Jeter

    Should’ve IBB’d Rodriguez.

    /worst move in managerial history.

    • flamingo

      *shudders*

  • Erica

    NUNEZ WUTTTTT

  • Need Pitching & Hitting (but mostly hitting)

    Nunez!!!!!

  • Dalek Jeter

    Have a defensive day Nunie!!

  • Preston

When did we trade for Alcides Escobar?

  • Eddard

Nuney threw that to first without even looking. I’d say he’s improved his throwing.

  • Cy Pettitte

another ridiculous play with a perfect throw by Nunie

    • Erica

Finally, that arm power Is put to use!

      • Cy Pettitte

to be fair is was being used last year – used to distribute souvenir baseballs to fans sitting up the first base line.

        • Erica

Hahaha, no wonder those seats are pricey.

  • OldYanksFan

    Ummm Eddard….
Did you forget to tell the Yankees that we were supposed to Win this game?

  • Vern Sneaker

And next time he boots one everyone will say he sucks let’s get rid of him.

  • Dalek Jeter

This is what I mean about Lou being “meh” when it comes to insight. I really could not care less about Sam Fold’s personal life, or how many kids he has.

  • Dalek Jeter

    soo…soooo close there Pronk.

  • your mom

We’re getting 2 hit by Alex fucking Cobb.

    • your mom

And he isn’t even a southpaw.

      • trr

Told u how good he was…

  • Dalek Jeter

That was at least 3 inches off the plate. Molina is a great pitchframer.

  • Kramerica Industries

Cobb has a lifetime 2.33 ERA against the Yankees. Ridiculous.

  • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

I know it’s not over. I know we can come back and win this.

But so far, this game really sucks. Fucking Trop.

    • Winter

      New Angel Stadium.

    • Havok9120

      Agreed.

    • Dalek Jeter

      Yeah, basically.

  • Havok9120

    Shawn. Kelley.

  • Dalek Jeter

Just saying, if this game is in the Bronx it’s 2-2, because Ichiro and Pronk’s hits would’ve been out and that homer that whoever hit is a double in Left Center.

    • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

      FALLACY!!!!11!!1!

      /Greg’d

  • Dalek Jeter

So, regardless of who is pitching and the situation, I hope Wells is PH’ing for Boesch (who I think should’ve been pulled after that error. If you’re in the big leagues you can’t do that.)

  • Kramerica Industries

Cobb is going to throw a CGSO.

    That is so fucking ridiculous.

    • The Real Greg

      No he isn’t

  • Winter

Just started watching. Has Cobb been getting those strike calls all night?

  • jtb

Its great that the Yankees are awesome against righty pitchers! Isn’t it funny to use the inductive scientifc (apartheid) method against the news media that does NOTHING but preach apartheid. They all have the same thing in common…..i wonder what that is..

    • trr

      Ridiculing idiots like you?

    • Peter Natural

Using abductive reasoning, I conclude you’re a moron.

  • Winter

So does Wells pinch hit for Nix? Or is Girardi just planning on letting him sit the whole game…?

    • Dalek Jeter

Probably B, because if anybody is hitting for Nix it would be Youk who Girardi said wasn’t playing in this series.

  • Chilango

    Nix is hitting?

    • Chilango

      was….hitting

      • Chilango

        wasn’t hitting sorry

    • Winter

      Not anymore. :|

  • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

Ah well. I can live with a .500 road trip. We caught the Rays at exactly the wrong time.

  • Winter

Seriously, this game by Cobb is like something I would do on Easy in a video game.

  • Winter

What odds can I get on Ichiro grounding into a double play?

  • Vern Sneaker

Good pitcher with his A game meets mediocre lineup = this game. I’d have left him in.

  • Winter

    Alright. Let’s go Robb-ay!

  • The Real Greg

Madden is on eggshells right now

  • Eddard

Here we go, for the second game in a row Maddon removed his starter for Rodney. Hit one out, Robbie.

  • Dalek Jeter

C’mon Robbie! this game ain’t over!!

  • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

    Ooooooh, drama!

Nobody called tying run to the plate this time…

  • Winter

    What time is it?

    Pronk time.

  • Eddard

Now they’ll just pitch around Hafner and it’ll be up to Frankie. Need a big hit from Cervelli.

    • The Real Greg

      Incorrect.

  • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

Wow, his changeup is fucking NASTY today.

  • Winter

Why isn’t Vernon Wells on deck?

    • The Real Greg

Hard to PH for catchers. Only 2 on the roster.

      • The Real Greg

And in the end doesn’t matter.

      • Winter

It’s pointless now, but if Hafner had walked or something, I don’t see why you don’t PH for Cervelli. If Cervelli get’s out, the game’s over anyway. Might as well burn a catcher trying to keep the game alive.

  • Improbable Island’s Dirty Midget Whores (formerly RRR)

Meh. That sucked balls. Oh well.

  • Leg-End

Tip of the cap to hairy Cobb and onto the next one.

  • Vern Sneaker

Too bad. Had a shot there.
