David Robertson day-to-day with hamstring issue

David Robertson is day-to-day with “crankiness” in his left hamstring, Brian Cashman confirmed. He had an MRI today and it is not a DL situation.

Robertson, 28, limped off the field last night after apparently catching a spike during the follow through of his final pitch. He said afterwards he was fine, but the team send him for tests anyway. Robertson has pitched well this year (3.86 ERA, 3.54 FIP), and with Joba Chamberlain hitting the DL, the Yankees really can’t afford to lose their primary setup man.

Make it stop….please just make it stop.

Cashman probably didn’t think ahead and destroy all hair left behind on road trips, thus letting the players’ hair be used for voodoo dolls and getting them injured.

I think the current stadium must be built on a Native American burial ground.

I don’t think this is what Red Barber meant by “Oh, doctor.”

And we’ve officially moved past tragedy into farce. Unbelievable.

Joba strings together some impressive outings, gets hurt. DRob may not be Houdini anymore, but he’s still DRob, gets hurt. This just has to stop. It must be an all-time record of simultaneous injuries and DL stints. The blog’s baseball sages will confirm this.

The very mention of Clay Rapada gives me the willies.

Sounds like Forensic on a 3:00 AM comment, or me on a game thread after too much Greg.

I can’t tell. Is this an ok comment or a continuation of the forensic bashing from last night/early this morning?

I can assure you that I haven’t a clue what went on kat nighltly lot and was just playfully busting your chops. Sorry if the timing sucked.

  9. Robinson Tilapia says:

I get it. It sucks. Day to days happen, regardless of how overstuffed your DL is.

Nice timing for an off day.

Hopefully they win in a blowout Friday and Saturday, giving DRob a couple more days off.

Hey, has anyone spotted “Stairs” around anywhere?

  10. forensic says:

Geez, this will be quite an interesting bullpen during the Oakland series. Sure is good timing to at least have 2 off days mixed in.

Remember when they said Jeter’s ankle was “cranky”?
Turned into an extended DL stay.
These guys are always hurt worse than the Yankees say they are.

Saw this one coming the minute he threw the pitch
