    Replace Hughes for Wang

    • http://www.twitter.com/thewallbreakers Scully

      I’m starting to agree.

    • IRememberCelerinoSanchez

Wang would get destroyed in the majors. Getting out AAA batters isn’t the same as getting out MLBers (if it was, Chris Bootchek would be starting the MLB all-star game). Wang’s stuff isn’t there anymore. He’s not even getting grounders in most of his starts.

      • Laz

You think Shelley Duncan in the cleanup spot is easy?

      • natcol

Wang has an AAA lower than Bootcheck. So what are you implying?

        • natcol

Wang has an AAA ERA lower than Bootcheck. So what are you implying?

      • vicki

while most who have scouted him live o dagree “his stuff is nowhere near its 2006-2007 levels,” his groundball rate was 58% going into tonight’s start, when he was 9/4 gb/fb (69%).

i don’t think he has a prayer to start for the yankees, but not because he’s not getting grounders.

          *do agree

          slip of the fingers

There are no links for the DSL game box scores.

  • Mike

Just one bad inning. Overall, not a bad game by Hughes. I like our chances tomorrow

  • Laz

Nice to see Ramirez bounce back after a few rough outings.

  • Tom

Does anyone know Dellin’s splits as a starter vs reliever… maybe it’s just the fewer innings but it seems like he’s mixed in some reasonably low hit+BB appearances since going to the pen

Or is that just (mis)perception and it’s just variability since he’s only throwing 1-2 innings at a time?

    • forensic

      Starter: 24 IP, 19 H, 16 BB, 25 K, 1.46 WHIP
      Reliever: 10 IP, 9 H, 5 BB, 11 K, 1.40 WHIP

      • NeilT

So basically he’s the same guy no matter where they pitch him. Oh well.

      • Tom

So I’m just basically noticing those 1 or 2 good innings when it would normally be buried in a bad 3-4 IP outing (that’s kind of what I feared)

By the way where did you get the minor league split info?

Oh, and thanks for the info!

    Folks:
    Can’t defend Cashman anymore.
With the money to hire the best scouts, farm system coaches, trainers, doctors..Cashman, his scouts, farm directors, etc. have done a horrible job drafting players and signing international amateur free agents.
You have to stumble across a star-caliber position player, starting pitcher, even a solid lefty relief specialist over the last several years and Cashman has come up empty.
Flops, horrid amounts of arm injuries and surgeries to pitchers..
And before MLB decreed spending limitations on international free agents, the Yankees should have stockpiled talent there like the rangers and other teams did.
Cashman and his incompetent staff have left the Yankees in bad shape for years. And now most teams have signed their top young players to long-term deals and he can’t go the spend-big bucks on major league free-agents route anymore.

“Cashman and his incompetent staff have left the Yankees in bad shape for years.”

Says the guy about the team that has made a historic run of winning the division and making the playoffs for almost two full decades. Some fans are so freaking spoiled.

      • Laz

I thought of it more as a troll, just seems like he is dying to get a response.

  • dan

yankeepankee is so right…..why did we not get darvish and or cespedes…..?189,189,189,189,189,189,189,189,189,189,189,189,……………….!

    • Laz

      Cespedes is hitting .228/.301/.456

Also, it’s not like he if free, $9M aav is a ton of money to devote to a player that has never played in MLB.

  • kenthadley

This is clearly over the top. Cashman has been league average as a GM, some successes some failures. You can make a case that the Yanks should be better, and that his performance hasn’t reflected their mission or resources. Not sure if he has total control over all of it. Their recent reluctance in signing IFA’s particularly before the limits were set, may or may not be Cashman. Arod’s contract, which will choke the payroll for 4 more years, was not his doing. So you can make a case, but your language makes it more emotional than intelligent.

  • trr

Everyone keeps saying Wang doesn’t have the stuff to pitch at the next level , but he keeps on winning.
He couldn’t be any worse than Hughes was last night!

  • Wayne

Can’t wait to see how brady lail and hayden sharp pitch in gulf coast! And here is praying the yankees Have a succesful draft this thursday. What is the hours for day one , two and three.
