Yankees send Bryan Mitchell back to Double-A

By

As expected, the Yankees have sent right-hander Bryan Mitchell back to Double-A Trenton, the team announced. The move clears a roster spot for David Robertson, who will be activated off the 15-day DL prior to tomorrow night’s series opener against the Red Sox. Mitchell did not pitch during his one day in the show and was only up as an emergency long man.

Well he gets a nice day of pay and a little birthday present. No harm done.

    One day of MLB salary…$3,086
One day of MLB per diem…$200
One plane tix to TB & back…$1,000
Missing one MiLB start…no big deal
Hanging out with Jete and the boys in the pen…priceless!

He’s another candidate to become a member of the rotation if Nuno doesn’t work out.

I doubt it. At some point, they should take him off the 40man roster. Hes not even good enough to make it to Scranton, let alone, help the big club. I don’t even think hes worth protecting at this point.
