Best case scenario for Ty Hensley is….?
best case is still a #1 starter but there is a smaller chance he will hit his ceiling. We will soon see if he still has the velocity and command though.
I can’t wait to get him in the mix. Alot of our pitching prospects are in the bigs now, weather the Yanks or someone else, and we’ve since loaded up on position players, and i’d argue, the pitching dept is where the Yanks lack most, at least with starting pitching in the minors.
Ty Hensley coming back healthy and producing would be huge boost to the starting pitching area of the Yanks system. Right now its basically Severino, DePaula(up and down yr), Banuelos(Will he ever be same?), Ian Clarkin(up and down yr, but put in high class), and then guys were kinda just keeping our fingers crossed with like Brady Lail, Jaron Long, and Matt Tracy..
Aaron Hill and Jason Hammel are who I have my eye on. Do the Yanks have what it takes to get them IYO?
Catching is in short supply in MLB,except for the Yanks. That’s a BIG
plus in any trade consideration this time of year
I would think so. I’m not saying i’d give these prospects up but do you think last place Arizona and Cubs aren’t gonna take guys like Peter O’Brien, Jon Ryan Murphy, Aaron Judge, Luis Severino, Adam Warren, David Phelps, Robert Refsnyder.etc for Aaron Hill and/or Jason Hammel? Hammel’s having the best yr in his career, which has done nothing for Chicago, so if they are smart, they’ll trade him in hopes they got Hammel when he was at his best and got prospects for him. I don’t think Arizona would be against the right trade for Aaron Hill. Hes not really young and the D-Backs need to kinda reload or refresh a bit.
It’s no mystery why defensive stats make NY centerfielders look bad. Gardner takes a lot of balls that would otherwise go to the CF.
JRM may be a better dH than Soriano. That would get him plenty of ML ABs, which he probably needs more than the catching reps.
Mike, while you are correct that the hall of fame is a museum, your wrong to think that the steroid guys are not part of it. Bonds is still the all time home run king. Clemens is in the museum for his accomplishments. Arod has some multiple mvps palmier is still a member of the 500/3000 club. Sosa and Big Mac are celebrated for the accomplishments. He’ll even Pete Rose who is banned for life is in the museum. But these guys are not hall of farmers. By this is mean they don’t deserve to be in the room with a bronze plaque or have the honor of writing HOF after their name when they sign an autograph. Failing to elect them to the bronze room, does not white wash the history of the game.
You got me thinking bout what i’d except in a trade for Tanaka Mike.. What about Andrew Cashner, Casey Kelley, and Hunter Renfroe from the Pads?
Or Rougned Odor, Joey Gallo, and Alex Gonzalez?
One more and I’ll stop. What if a team offered young-ish proven players. Say for instance the Cubs offered Starlin Castro, Jeff Samrdzjia, James Russell, and throw in our old friend Corey Black . Would that be a good haul to get for one awesome ass player in Tanaka, or is that just to much?
If Casey Kelley were included, the Yankees would have to eat Tanaka’s contract. Plus the posting fee.
