Top stories from last week:
- Rob Refsnyder has reportedly been placed on the trade block. He has a minor league option remaining, so the Yankees could always stash him in Triple-A for depth. Not the worst idea.
- The Yankees announced their first round of roster cuts. Justus Sheffield, Daniel Camarena, and J.P. Feyereisen were among the eleven players sent to minor league camp.
- Injury Updates: Tyler Austin (foot) is progressing well, though he still has a ways to go before resuming baseball activities. Mason Williams (knee) is set to play this week. Ronald Herrera (shoulder) has started throwing. James Reeves (elbow) and Kellin Deglan (shoulder) are still shut down.
- James Kaprielian will make his next appearance in a Grapefruit League game. We just don’t know which day. Matt Holliday has been taking ground balls at first base.
- The Yankees and Gary Sanchez agreed to a contract for 2017. He wasn’t renewed.
- MLB.com released their top 30 Yankees prospects list.
