Triple-A Scranton (4-1 win over Louisville)
- SS Tyler Wade: 1-2, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K — drew only three walks total in his first 16 games of the season, which is a little unusual for him … he had an 11.3% walk rate last year (career 10.2%)
- RF Clint Frazier: 1-4
- CF Dustin Fowler: 1-4, 1 2B
- 2B Rob Refsnyder: 1-2, 1 R, 1 K
- LF Mason Williams: 1-3, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 SB — been on base five times the last two games … he reached base nine times in his first 14 games
- RHP Luis Cessa: 6.2 IP, 9 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 6/7 GB/FB — 60 of 88 pitches were strikes (68%) … 12/9 K/BB in 23.1 innings is a problem
- RHP Gio Gallegos: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 2/0 GB/FB — 12 pitches, ten strikes
- RHP Ernesto Frieri: 1 IP, zeroes, 2/1 GB/FB — ten of 16 pitches were strikes
Double-A Trenton Game One (3-0 win over New Hampshire in seven innings) makeup of yesterday’s rainout
- CF Rashad Crawford: 2-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI — had been in a 3-for-29 (.103) rut
- SS Thairo Estrada: 1-4, 1 K
- 3B Miguel Andujar: 1-3 — three multi-hit games, five no-hit games, and ten one-hit games … kind of a weird spread
- LF Billy McKinney: 1-3, 1 K
- RHP Yefrey Ramirez: 6.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 6/8 GB/FB — 62 of 101 pitches were strikes (61%) … he’s allowed three runs in 18.2 innings in three starts after allowing five runs in 3.1 innings in his first start
Double-A Trenton Game Two (4-3 win over New Hampshire in seven innings)
- CF Rashad Crawford: 0-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K
- SS Abi Avelino: 0-3
- DH Miguel Andujar: 1-3, 1 R, 1 K — his recent string of one-hit games continues
- LF Billy McKinney: 0-2, 1 RBI, 1 K
- RHP Kyle Haynes: 2.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2/2 GB/FB — 38 of 67 pitches were strikes (57%)
High-A Tampa (7-5 loss to Clearwater)
- CF Jorge Mateo: 3-4, 2 R, 1 K — had been in a 2-for-32 (.063) slump
- SS Didi Gregorius: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB, 1 E (fielding) — first time he played a full nine innings during this rehab assignment … he’s 8-for-18 (.444) with a double and a homer in five rehab games so far
- LF Tito Polo: 2-5, 1 R, 1 2B, 2 K — he was just activated off the 7-day DL today … not sure what was wrong with him, but it couldn’t have been that serious
- DH Trey Amburgey: 0-4, 1 RBI, 2 K
- 2B Nick Solak: 1-5
- 3B Kyle Holder: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 BB
- RF Austin Aune: 1-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI
- RHP Domingo Acevedo: 5 IP, 10 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 5/2 GB/FB — 62 of 83 pitches were strikes (75%) … 27/6 K/BB in 21.1 innings
- RHP Zack Littell: 2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 1 HB, 4/0 GB/FB — 21 of 30 pitches were strikes (70%) … they have six starters for five spots following the RHP Albert Abreu promotion, which is why he’s pitching out of the bullpen … I can’t imagine this will last, so chances are someone else will get promoted soon (LHP Josh Rogers?)
Low-A Charleston (3-2 loss to West Virginia)
- 3B Angel Aguilar: 1-1, 1 CS — he left the game after the caught stealing in the first inning, so he chances are he got hurt
- SS Diego Castillo: 0-3 — replaced Aguilar
- DH Hoy Jun Park: 3-4, 2 R, 1 3B, 1 K — now hitting .379/.468/.578 with eleven walks and eleven strikeouts in 17 games … he’s repeating the level, so I imagine the Yankees will look to bump him up to Tampa sooner rather than later
- C Donny Sands: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 3 PB
- CF Estevan Florial: 0-2, 1 RBI, 1 K
- LF Isiah Gilliam, SS-3B Oswaldo Cabrera & LF Leonardo Molina: all 0-3 — Molina threw a runner out at the plate
- RHP Jio Orozco: 5.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 7 K, 1 HB, 1/3 GB/FB — 54 of 92 pitches were strikes (59%), plus he picked a runner off first … 18/12 K/BB in 19.1 innings for the 19-year-old … he’s one of the pitchers the Yankees got from the Mariners for OF Ben Gamel … also, fun fact: Orozco and Sands were high school teammates … Sands was an infielder back then though, so they weren’t batterymates
