The Yanks signed catcher Brian Peterson for Triple-A because Frankie Cervelli is on the disabled list with a sore hand. Barely a week ago the Yankees had to stick PJ Pilittere on the disabled list because they had no spot for him, and now they’re having to sign guys off the scrap heap to get by. Amazing how quickly depth can disappear.
