It’s been a decent week in Yankee land — even with losing two out of three in Anaheim. Considering the way series usually go down there, it could have been much worse.

  • We open with a review of the last two series, which have left the Yankees 4-2 on the road trip.
  • Then it’s onto reader mail. I want to make this a more regular feature on the show.
  • A bit on Derek Jeter, seeing as its the 20th anniversary of the Yankees drafting him.
  • Cody Johnson: actual prospect?
  • Runners in scoring position: the natural cure.

There are, of course, various other ideas bandied about here and there throughout.

Apologies in advance for the technical issues. If it sounds like we’re talking over each other, it’s because someone’s internet connection was horrible. In any case, we’re talking slumping offense, Teixeira, and pitching on the podcast today.

It’s been something of an eventful week in Yankeeland. We got to see the new endgame tandem of David Robertson and Rafael Soriano. We also saw some breakout signs from Robinson Cano, which should jumpstart the offense. All in all it was a pretty decent week — save for the Gardner injury news, of course. Mike and I are covering it all.

There is plenty to talk about this week, but of course we’re starting off with the loss of Mariano Rivera. Mike and I try to stay as positive as possible.

Then we have the issues of the team, which take up a bit more room. There’s sorting out the bullpen and rotation, and then the lineup. Oh the lineup. The guys are going to come around and hit, but now more than ever the Yankees need timing on their side.

It’s pretty obvious what we’re going to talk about, right?

With another week of baseball in the books we have plenty to talk about. We basically covered all of the Yanks flaws and strengths in this episode, going from the shaky starting pitching to the lights-out bullpen, to the consistent, if frustrating, offense. It’s been quite a few weeks, and things will only get better from here.

We’re through a week of baseball, so we have plenty to talk about. And it was an especially eventful week for the Yankees. Seriously, there’s little need for bullet points on this one. If it happened this week, we talked a bunch about it. From the rotation shakiness to the RISP woes to the shutdown bullpen. It’s all here on The RAB Radio Show.

Baseball’s back, baby! The Yanks will start shortly, but before they take the field for the first time in 2012 we have a little podcast action for y’all. We’re talking about the 25-man roster, so it goes a little something like this:

  • Pineda’s injury and it’s effects on the rotation and him personally.
  • The rest of the rotation, including some optimism for Phil Hughes.
  • The bench, on which we note one questionable but understandable decision.
  • The bullpen, which underwent a few changes in the last week.
  • And, of course, the odd, odd lineup that Tampa Bay will trot out today.

We missed a couple weeks for various reasons. But we’re back and ready to run down what’s up in Yankees’ camp.

  • We missed last week, because the Andy Pettitte news broke as we were recording. Mike and I run down what happened and what it means for the 2012 Yankees.
  • Most importantly: Dude, Andy Pettitte.
  • We move on, then, to Joba Chamberlain. He suffered a rather gruesome injury, and chances are he’s going to miss the season.
  • There are other stories in camp, too, such as Michael Pineda. Mike and I talk about why that’s a bit overblown.
  • Finally: which lefty reliever will break camp with the Yankees?

Baseball is back. By the time you read this the Yankees’ first spring training game will be underway. Of course, there’s plenty to talk about this week.

  • New playoff format. Mike and I discuss the latest on the second WIld Card, which will be implemented this year. There’s some funky formatting going on, though.
  • Those rumors of the Yankees’ desire to get below $189 million in 2012? Hal Steinbrenner says that is indeed the case. Mike and I run down the possibilities.
  • Plus stuff on lineups, rotations, and all the Yankees miscellany you can handle.
