The Yankees have signed OF Mitchell Hansen, according to his Instagram account. The Dodgers released him a few days ago. He hit .256/.321/.409 (91 wRC+) in 254 minor league games after being their second round pick in 2015. Baseball America (subs. req’d) ranked Hansen as the No. 28 prospect in the Dodgers’ system before the season and says he has a “lefty swing with good leverage” that creates “good bat speed and average raw power.”

- DH Brandon Drury: 1-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K — here’s video of the dinger
- RF Billy McKinney: 1-4, 1 R, 1 3B, 1 K — threw a runner out at the plate
- SS Ronald Torreyes: 2-4, 1 R
- LHP Nestor Cortes: 5 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 WP, 5/3 GB/FB, 1 E (throwing) — 64 of 91 pitches were strikes (70%)
- RHP Gio Gallegos: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K — 13 of 22 pitches were strikes (59%)
- RHP Cody Carroll: 1 IP, zeroes, 2 K, 0-1 GB/FB — nine pitches, seven strikes … he’s pitched three times in the last four days now, which is not a typical Triple-A relief prospect workload … that’s a “we want to see how he handles it before we call him up” workload … either that or manager Bobby Mitchell has gone rogue and is using Carroll against organizational directives (nah)
