Two quick notes to get us started:
- RHP Garrett Whitlock was mentioned in Jeff Passan’s weekly prospect update. “Whitlock has a fastball that runs up to 96, a plus slider and command of both. Even better, said one scout, is Whitlock’s attitude: He pitches with a mean streak, which, at 6-foot-5, makes him all the more intimidating,” said the write-up.
- 1B Mike Ford was placed on the Triple-A Scranton disabled list, the team announced. Manager Bobby Mitchell told Conor Foley that Ford hurt his side taking a swing last night, so I guess that means oblique. 1B Ryan McBroom was bumped up from Double-A Trenton to Triple-A Scranton to fill the roster spot.
